Peter Reid for Manager - campaign needed..
Arizona replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
It is going to be hard to find a worse manager than Wotte, but at least we're trying. -
Games Saga has scored in for Saints. 06/07 Coverntry away - Lost 3-1 - Saints terrible Ipswich home - Won 1-0 - Saints struggle to score Stoke away - Lost 2-1 - Saints very poor Colchester home - Lost 2-1 - Saints absolutely abysmal Wolves away - Won 6-0 - Saga scores hat trick Luton away - Won 2-0 Sunderland home - Lost 2-1 - Scores against in form team Birmingham away - Lost 2-1 - Scores against in form team 07/08 Palace home - Lost 4-1 - Saints terrible Barnsley home - Lost 3-2 - Saints very poor PNE away - Lost 5-1 - Was it an own goal? Either way, he was in the right place Sheff Utd home - Won 3-2 - Scored when we were 1-0 down needing a win against a team top of the form table 08/09 Donny home - Lost 2-1 - Saints terrible Norwich away - Drew 2-2 - Were hopeless until he came on Swansea home - Drew 2-2 - Score 2 against an in form side. Moral of the story. Saga has a knack of scoring when Saints are struggling and/or playing an in form team.

Perhaps better checking the league table before leaping to such conclusions. DMG, Surman, Lallana, Saga, Perry and Davis were all part of that squad too. Don't know about you, but I'm kind of glad we kept the last three. Anyway, with the summer mass exodus that went on, it wouldn't have taken a genius to see that a few of the bit part players might have been useful if we'd kept them. Also people seem to be forgetting Wright turned down a new contract offer in summer. Think it was because we offered him 1 year and he wanted 2. Better than Wotton, possibly, but I can't imagine how slow a 36 year old Wright would have been. Wouldn't we all.I was refering to players we realistically could have kept given Lowe's financial restrictions on the club.

After all the stuff I've said, I sometimes worry that Jermaine is coming to get me. Really, really slowly. I'd argue that Licka was far more effective that Smith, Gobern and, in the last 3 months, Lallana. Surman, Euell and Gillett haven't exactly had rave reviews either. When you consider goalshy perenial DMG was kept out of the team by the great Vincent Pericard last season, I reckon we could have found a place for Mario and Jesus. Agree with sh*te about Ifil too. Quality player for us.

I'll have nightmares after that. :smt085

Hypothetical question. Assuming they would have taken a new contract on relatively low wages (Jesus PAYP with his injuries), do you think we should have kept them? I would say yes. Licka, whilst found wanting physically, could pick out a decent pass and set up 4 or 5 goals in about 10 games under Pearson. Ostlund may have the possitional sense of marmot on LSD, but an experienced, passionate RIGHT BACK FFS.

Aagh, thought I'd taken Oakley out and put Ball in. Sh*t now I need someone else on the bench. F**k it, it's late, Tessem (I know there were thousands of better players running around in Saints shirts before I was born). And yes, youth indeed. I never saw Channon, Golac or Moran play live either. I'm just going by the stories on here and er... youtube, you can't really leave them out.
-
But will be absolutely a*se raped when when they have to defend a set piece. My first choice FWIW would be: Niemi Golac - Killer - Richards - Bridge Paine - MLT - Oakley - CMFG Channon - Moran Subs: Shilton, Claus, Ball, Tessem, Pahars
-
Haven't seen Ball play, so will go with CMFG.

Why are Lowe and the bloke behind and Wotte and Wilde wearing the same coloured ties? -
Well, it's easier to sing, "We want Votta out!" so I'll stick with that.
-
Under Wotte isn't it more like 0.5 points per game?
-
Nope. Priskin.
-
Of course he was, he's David McGoldrick.
-
Meh. Our goal difference is sh*te anyway, would have been more p*ssed if Kelvin hadn't gone forwards.
-
According to SSN we're having trouble in the final 3rd at the moment. Fancy that.
-
I was refering to penalty saves, not the results.
-
2-0 Charlton
-
Brum finally take the lead.
-
Charlton miss a pen too. They're going our way this afternoon if nothing else.
-
I can't accept that Killer has been sitting on a load of revolutionary new coaching ideas, but hasn't bothered to mention them until now because he is only a player.
-
As a quality and experienced defender, I'd imagine he has always been barking out instructions and advice to the other defenders, both in training and on the pitch. Other than being a bit more vocal, I can't see as he is really doing much more than that.
-
Why the f*ck would he? He's been here for 7 years, give or take a few trips to surgeons accross the Northern hemisphere. Why would he suddenly improve our defence just because Lowe have given him a fancy job title?
-
Oh sh*t.
-
And Charlton...
