By we, I was refering to Saints as a club, not the fans in particular. I would quite like Dyer in the side, as I'm sure would many others. However it is quite clear that the board don't want him, hence he has been loaned out twice this season, barely a month after signing a new contract. We offered him the new contract to stop him leaving for free in the hope that we could sell him on for maybe £500k-£1m at a late date. If you can think of a more plausible explanation, I would be interested to hear it.
-
No, if we'd offered him on a contract with an accademy sized wage packet, he'd have fooked off somewhere else for 5 times that amount. I don't know what Dyer's wage is, but based on those rumours that Liverpool and Pompey were looking at him (probably b*llocks, but there would no doubt have been other interest) we had to pay him more than we could afford to stay. The whole idea is that he wouldn't be on the wage bill. We loan him out until we can find someone to sell him to, which is exactly what's happening.

I don't think some people quite get this... We don't want Dyer in the team, he is too expensive. We only offered him a contract in the summer on the assumpion that we'd then be able to sell him, rather than have him leave on a free. I think the fact that we loaned him out barely a month after signing the contract, then again in January shows this. It's not as if we have a 'logjam' of quality right wingers. Skacel is Holmes' obvious replacement to anyone with half a brain. Oscar Gobern it is then...

I said in summer before he left, that it was more important to keep Saga than John. People just don't seem to get that his work rate and defending from the front makes those around him look good even if he isn't scoring. Anyone else noticed that we've had 2 clean sheets in the 3 games when he's been on the pitch? It was the same story last season under Pearson when we didn't lose a game Saga started. Hopefully story's like this on the OS mean he's staying. I do fear for Skacel however. Another experienced, quality pro, but he seems to have disappeared along with BWP.

He let off the hook big time for chosing that starting line-up. I can only hope he has learned and we get Saga, Euell and Skacel back in for Saturday.
-
League games. Saga has never had the luxury of 90 mins against a bunch of part time plumbers to bolster his tally.
-
DMG scored on the first day, then failed to score in the next 9 league games. He got 2 in his opening 15. I know it's hardly conclusive, but to play DMG ahead of Saga after tonight would be lunacy IMO.
-
That's just bull. Last season John couldn't score without Saga in the team and we never lost a game Saga started under Pearson. To say he is not worth having in the team is bull. Anyway, if we're going to start dragging in players performances from last season... which was DMG's best goal last year in your oppinion?
-
Not none league, sorry, that's just me being a tit. However they point remains they are a bunch of part time welders. Against any half decent opposition Saga has scored more (7 to DMG's 6) in about 1/3 of the time on the pitch. No he isn't a goal machine, but picking DMG ahead of him is madness.

So you honnestly think Wotte chose not to start Euell, BWP, Saga and Skacel tonight? If that is the case, I retract my above statement and replace it with this one: 'Mark Wotte is an absolutely appaling manager and hasn't got a clue'
