Nigel Pearson - He only plays old carthorses who are expensive!
Arizona replied to um pahars's topic in The Saints
But we couldn't afford Pearson's wages and he is only good because he has spent £200m on building a Leicester squad! -
Haha brilliant. I guess The Skates couldn't go on underperforming against lower league teams and get away with it for ever.

Casualty Who wants to be a millionaire Super Nanny (clearly we have issues getting our kids to do what they're told) Any Five programme entitled "Worlds biggest crashes, disasters, etc. Benny Hill I'm a footballer, get me out of here!

It will be one of those, "I got a new puppy yesterday! ... but it got hit by a car" moments. You wake up with a jolt of optimism when you remember he's gone, then sink lower than before when you remember Mark Wigley replaced him.

Saints Greatest XI - Nominations for Left Side Striker in the B-Team.

Pahars! -
I guess the simple answer is we are up Sh*t Creek. It was a ridiculous decision in the summer IMO. Appointing a foreign manager from a much lower level of football, knowing we wouldn't have any cash to spend on a plan B if and when it failed. I don't know whether we can afford a 'proper' manager. I guess it's the lesser of two evils. Go into administration, or get relegated, then go into administration.
-
Fair enough, but it does look a bit like you're defending the decision to replace a manager who had done a decent job with no money with an unknown from the Dutch equivalent of Bognor Regis FC.

Lee Molyneux & the power of positive thinking .

Well, if Wolfie playing at LB means we get to play Skacel in midfield, we might stand a chance. -
Come on mate. You cannot seriously believe JP was the better choice than Pearson. Yes he had a full squad but there was a heck of a lot of deadwood, players underperforming and the team had been on a run of about 5 straight defeats before he took over. Not keeping Nigel is the worst decision Lowe has made since his return by a country mile.

The last time someone was that wrong...

I was actually refering to last season when Burley left and Crouch replaced him with the Tesco own-brand, cheap, in house design and things went from bad to worse. Not saying any of them are a good choice for a manager.
-
Who would you rather have - Wotte or Dodd/Gorman?
-
Wonder how Mark Wigley, sorry Wotte, will do as his replacement.
-
Wow. Not a moment too soon, but I didn't think it was ever going to happen. It is vital we get an experienced CCC head to replace him who can get the best out of what we have. There are a few quality players in the squad, but Jan hasn't got the best from them. Totaal Voetball!!
-
After watching players like DMG this season and Euell last season, stick stay in the side long after they should have been dropped, I know it doesn't work like that. I think Jan could lose the next 5 games 5-0 and still wouldn't get sacked. As the Pearson situation showed, it's not how a manager performs that determines whether he keeps his job. It's about whether they can cope with Lowe's ego.

Bit of a stealth moose if you ask me.

How many home games will we have won by the end of the season?
Arizona replied to Big_Bald_Si's topic in The Saints
I think we'd win more home games if we were better. -

I am going to say 2 more, but our "surge" in home form will be at the cost of our away form and we wont move up the table. -
Doesn't seem to make to much sense for either party. Fulham risk getting dragged into the relegation fight without him and Hull have forked out a lot of money considering they aren't exactly Premiership stalwarts.

Can't believe I logged on to read this...

5 League goals from open play in 27 full games is not what I'd call in form if I'm honnest. If he played all of every League game this season, and lets face it, he's going to come close, he will manage a grand total of 8.5 goals. I'd expect someone like Rasiak or Saganowski to be hitting 20 with that kind of time on the pitch.

Was watching Ali G Indahouse the other night. Rhona Mitra, whilst not actually a politician, is hot. Same goes for Helen Baxendale in Adrian Mole the Cappuccino Years.
-
Haven't seen a thread on this yet. I'd personally go with: Davis James - Perry - Size - Molyneux Lallana - MS - Euell - Skacel Saganowski - BWP
-
Marina Bay, really? If Nelsinho hadn't put it in the wall, I think we'd have had another Valencia on our hands. Top 10 races would have been: 1. Brazil 2. Silverstone (sorry Ponty) 3. Spa 4. Monza 5. Montreal 6. Marina Bay 7. Hockenheim 8. Fuji 9. Melbourne 10. Sepang

Wright Ifil - Dailly - Perry - Vignal Really can't think of anyone except Guthrie. Camara - Saganowski Bit short of midfielders. Kosowski at LM, but he wasn't great. Can't bring myself to put Adam 'Do you want gravy on that' Hammill in the side.
