Given at Newcastle would get my vote. I know the Geordies aren't as big as they'd like to think, but a big club none-the-less and should comfortably be in the top half if they only had a bit of stability.

Man Utd, stadium sold out, terrible performance, hammered by reserve team in second gear. PNE, all of 200 fans traveled up, half probably left at half time, came from behind to win 3-2. Not saying we shouldn't support the team, however I don't buy into the argument that we are affecting the players by singing Swing Lowe or staging protests outside the stadium. All Lowe is saying with this "Saints Utd" stuff is, 'I have made yet another gross error of judgement and I think it is going to go tits up. Pleeeeeease leave me alone for a bit, your not being very nice and your not my friend!' Think about it. If Lowe really honnestly believed Wotte was the Man for the job, would we need statements asking us to unite?

From this list it looks like France has been dropped from the F1 Calendar next year too. I wasn't aware of this, thought it was just Montreal. http://www.itv-f1.com/Feature.aspx?Type=General&id=44597 Bit worrying the number of old school tracks disappearing from the Calendar. Canada, France, Imola, Austria and Nurburgring all in the last few years. Hopefully circuits like Spa, Donnington, Monza and Hockenheim don't get removed.

I would argue he has been mediocre in general this season. At the start of the season people were calling him a waste of space, saying Thomson should play instead and wondering why we offered him a contract in the first place. If a Prem team comes in and offers £2m to take him off our hands in the summer, I will admit I was wrong.
-
Like who? Yes Delap has gone on to do well for Stoke, but his career went completely stagnent here and he looked like he couldn't be a*se half the time. For every Delap there are 10 Powells, Wrights, Ormerods, Pruttons, Kentons, Hajtos, IIs and Blayneys. Again, I'm not saying Dyer SHOULD be criticised, but I do not think he is immune from criticism based on his form for us.

Yes, Pompey are in general better than most CCC teams. Against Swansea however they weren't. If they carry on playing like that and like they did against West Ham a few weeks back, they will go down. I remember Bart had a good game against Newcastle in the Cup a few years ago. Having a good game against a Prem team doesn't make you a good player on its own. Don't get me wrong, we could do with Dyer back, but he isn't the class above most of us seem to think he is. He had a good 2 month spell at the start of last season before he got injured. Since then he has really done bugger all up until the Swansea - Pompey game. Inneffective at the end of last season, no end product at the start of this season and spent a lot of time getting splinters in his a*se in Sheffield.

"Head coach Mark Wotte's plea for the club to unite as one" Sounds like begging to me. Except of course Wotte is just a front for this begging and in reality it is the board who really want to unite the fanbase. I doubt the manager of any club is too bothered about a fans protest outside the club, especially as no players are being targeted.
-
4 Think Wotte will surprise everyone and beat either the Blades or Swansea, but lose against Norwich and Watford.
-
Smacks of desperation really. Begging the fans for unity whilst doing nothing themselves to bring unity to the club. I think we are all united in wanting Wotte to do well, what the club seem to be asking for is universal approval in how they are running the club, which they are never going to get.
-
I think we all have the same basic interests. Financial stability, a balanced first team squad with quality players and ultimately promotion. Yes I know you aren't going to please everyone no matter how well you run the club, but Lowe doesn't seem to bothered about pleasing anyone. His selections of managers have been wrong and are based more on a desire to do it his way, rather than the right man for the job.
-
If he was running the club with everyone's best interests at heart, I personally couldn't care if he spends his Saturday afternoons watching the ballet.

Not keeping Pearson - Gross error of judgement IMO. Appointing Poortvliet - As above. Replacing him with Wotte - and there's the hattrick. Finding investment - None existent Alienating senior players - Check Interfering with transfer policy and team selection - Check These are the reasons I dislike Rupert Lowe (and others).
-
I once saw Neil McCann be MOTM. True story. Not saying we couldn't do with Dyer back, but I don't think he should be awarded God-like status based on one good game against what is in all honnesty a poor Pompey side.
-
It depends. If he does a Pearson-esq job of making us difficult to beat with no money to spend and really turns the team arround then I would have to say yes. If however nothing changes in our performances and results, but we stay up on goal difference because Donny and Forest are s**t, then I would have to say no.

Hmmm. Not as good as the gorilla one, although this has to be my favourite: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dEPEpXHa7Fs

It's still gambling on the hope that someone will be willing to pay sizeable wages to take a very inconsistent player off our hands for the duration of his contract. I know he attracted some attention from some big clubs at the start of last season, but after the injury he barely made an impact and looked like a League 1 player most of the time. I just find it disappointing that we offered a player way over the odds because of 2 months of good form a year ago. Imagine if we'd been unable to ship him out at the start of the season and had to sell/loan Davis to ballance the books. Don't forget at when he first went out on loan, people were offering to drive him up to Sheffield themselves and moaning that he was in the side ahead of Thomson, who is currently playing in League 2. I don't care if he was good yesterday, he has done little of note for us recently and the Blades weren't exactly thrilled with his contribution. I just don't see why we broke the wage bank for him on the off chance that someone might fork out £500k for him.

I've resolved this quite amicably with alpine via PM, so I won't go through it all again. I even said if he wants to change it back then he can. However there is a difference between censorship and changing a title so it isn't misleading. Otherwise we could just start threads like, "Ukrainian hedgehog accuses Wilde of Rape" then when you open the thread, "... in this weird dream I had last night." And everyone would just be whinging over absolutely nothing.

Nigel Pearson - He only plays old carthorses who are expensive!
Arizona replied to um pahars's topic in The Saints
Obviously the quality of Leicesters squad plays a large part in why they are where they are. However I don't think it comes close to accounting for why they're 12 points clear of 3rd place, with a game in hand, 2/3 of the way into the season. The players highlighted by NickG are NOT well above that League: Steve Howard is an old cart horse. How anyone can say he is too good for L1 is beyond me. Dickov is 36 FFS. It's like saying Fowler was too good for CCC when he was sitting in the physio room being outscored by Saganowski last season. Oakley and Fryatt are CCC standard, but hardly stand-out players. Dyer I don't know much about but I'll take your word for it. As for having loans from Liverpool and Arse... we've had Hammill and O'Halloran on loan from CL chasing sides. Doesn't mean they were good (I'm not saying Leicesters loans aren't). Basically I'm trying to say; 'Yes Leicester have a good squad with some tallented players, but as Burley so painfully proved, this doesn't guarantee success. Pearson is the real reason they are so good IMO.' -
Because we gave him a new contract in summer and realised we couldn't afford it a month later. Good thing Lowe's financial nouse makes up for his lack of football expertise eh.
-
Didn't the Seattle Seahawks win that last year?
-
Pearson looks round a fraction too late, as Saints go flying backwards past Leicester.

Well, I've counted just the 6 comments having a dig at you for picking such a sensationalist thread title. Is it really that big a deal that I've changed it so as not to mislead people? All Matt has done is fired some well aimed criticism at the running of a club. There has been no response from the board condeming his comments, let alone reason to think he will be banned.

Think this could do with being renamed.
