Thought I was the only one who had noticed this. A fantastic season by all accounts.

I'd imagine everyone's on holiday at the moment. The first month after the end of the season tends to be fairly quiet.

A Daily Echo Scoop! Right back to train with Saints over the Summer.

And in other news, bears have stopped sh*tting in the woods. -
To be fair though, a lot of people may have recorded the matches and not want to know the score. Also, the pilots on the BA plane weren't nescessarily British and may not have given a flying f**k about football either. They might not have even realised there was a game on. Plus they're relying on an air traffic controller to tell them the scores. Back on topic, I wonder how many of the idiots out striking saw these £0.5bn losses this morning and thought, "yeah, they're going to give up on their cost cutting measures for sure now". Pure retardation. Most of the cabin crew I know think you're overpaid if you earn a penny of £20k in that job.

The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread

I remember the Northants cup game, made Adam Hammill look like Posh Spice. -
You do know Burley has left?

Really don't give a crap. Just hoping Millwall win the final. They are a strong team and I'll be pleased to see the back of them. Swindon I feel will be a bit of a one hit wonder and we will muller them next year. Could be wrong, just a feeling, but I reckon they overperformed this year. Plus it's a local game for me.

There is a short thread in the Lounge discussing Pompey.

I think someone may have written something similar. We had a thread about stories the OS would love to happen. You get the idea. Stern John does a surprisingly good job filling in at centre half, "John Thomas partnership stands firm". You can take the credit for the first one if you like.

96 and 98 were good, mainly because they were in essence the same. I never really warmed to World in Motion TBH. If I had to pick a second favourite, I'd say Fat Les and Vindaloo. Sh*t but kinda catchy.

I've just given you a list of players who went on loan and didn't sign permanently, or left on a free because a manager didn't rate them. It's irrelevant, means Jack. I don't care what Harding did on loan at Reading two years ago. He did the business for us last year and he can do it again next year. He is a good player, Mills is good cover... there is no need for another LB. We should be building a team around players like Harding, FOnte, Morgan, Lallana and Lambert. If we start next season with 11 strangers on the pitch, we aren't going to win many games no matter how good they are. Another LB would just be a pointless waste of money. We could easily win the league with Harding in the team.

Which accounts specifically?

I said he is hardly a journeyman or there is nothing to suggest he wants out. Meaning I can't think of any reason why he would want to leave, or why we'd want to get rid of him. I actually looked at his history on soccerbase, not google http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=32808 I know he has had loans, but they we're just loans. Puncheon has been on loan to MK Dons twice, but didn't sign for them. Murty was on loan at Charlton the season before last. They didn't sign him. Barnard was on loan to half the clubs in the football league before Spuds released him. Means bugger all really. I think players would sulk because they are used to first team football and suddenly they're playing in the reserves. If they didn't sulk, they would still want out. It's going to be one heck of a team that makes Harding look average next season.
-
Would imagine he will go to a top half NPC team TBH. Besides which, at 34 he isn't really one for the future and we'd probably need to replace him next season anyway.
-
If Harding is injured play Mills, he's perfectly capable and has done a job against very tough opposition (Ipwsich) and in front of a bigger crowd than the Super Bowl (JPT final). Harding was fit for every game last season I think. Why are we assuming both him and Mills are suddenly going to get crippled. Cover is good. Having sulking players who don't want to be here is bad. 3 LBs really is over kill. As for Harding moving around, we're his 4th club. He started at Brighton, had a big money move to Leeds. It didn't work out, so he moved to Ipswich. Keane took over and didn't rate him, so he came here. Hardly a journeyman and I have seen nothing suggest he wants out.
-
By fight it out you really mean one of them will have to be content with spending next season in the reserves for all but about 6 games. I really don't get this. We have 2 left backs and 0 right backs and suddenly it's, "hey let's get a LB". If this bloke is a midfielder then fair enough, although he will still be warming the bench for Lallana.

Russell f**king Brand? P*ss off. Sounded crap.

Anyone remember the time a fan with genital warts sexually asaulted Ostlund as he was giving his Sunday service? The OS ran with the headline: Ifil Euell be Makin Ostlund Licka Wright Dyer John Thomas, Makin his Dailly Surman

.... Not entirely sure I trust that gnome...

Phil Ifil looked pretty decent in the half season he spent here. Never Prem standard, but useful in the CCC. Just done a quick Google, apparently he is out of contract along with Prutts at Colchester. Another good HCDAJFU but I think he left last time because he didn't want to be too far from his family in North London. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/colchester_united/8690090.stm BTW, if we're going to pick and chose players from the playoff squad and this one, I'd take: Davis Baird - Fonte - Jaidi - Bale Lallana - Pele - Morgan - Skacel Lambert - Jones
-
We have 4 left sided players as it is with Harding, Mills, Holmes and Lallana. Get rid of Holmes and get in another decent LM and that's good enough cover. Puncheon can also play on the left and we still need rid of Molly. If we bring in another LB, at least one of them will just get p*ssed off and leave come January. The right side should be priority, where we have Puncheon and b*gger all else.
-
No Mills is excellent back up. He is young and progressing, but able to do a decent job when called upon. I doubt either Dickson or Harding would be too chuffed about spending a whole season in the reserves.
-
Harding wont be playing RB next season because Burley isn't running the team anymore. It would just be another Skacel at LB situation. Two decent games as a stop gap, then after two years we're all moaning about how he hasn't delivered. We don't need a LB, we have two very competant LBs. Mills was my MOTM against one of our strongest opponents (Ipswich in the cup) last season, I have no problem with him covering if Harding gets injured. Holmes out and a quick left winger in please. A left footed Antonio so to speak. Does this bloke fit the bill?

Reminds me of this one. Not as far out, but at least the goalie wasn't in no-man's land having a fag.
