  1. Nothing to stop us offering lower wages. Supposing Thomas was on £10k a week and his only offers for next season were £2kpw. If we offered him £3kpw he would stay.
  2. Can't really say it was a 'shame' to see him leave because he is just too old and we have better options now. Very greatful of the effort he has put into this club during his time here. Wont foget his MOTM performance at Reading last year when we won 2-1.
  3. Most disappointed to see Thomas go. Loved his commitment and no nonsense defending althought if I am brutally honnest, we can find better, younger players. Only other player I'd have kept from that list is Semi, but clearly AP has a decent RB lined up, given that he's released all 2.5 of our current options. Overall very happy to see so much dead wood leave, with the prospect of more to go as soon as we can offload Holmes, Pulis, Molly, Forecast and possibly Wotton. Delighted to see Bart gets a new deal too.
  4. Prefer Holden to Davina or Billie 'you could drive a submarine down her mouth and that's an open goal for inuendo' Piper. Kelly Brook...
  5. Alonso looking useful in practice, Red Bull still looks like the team to beat.
  6. The "Echo prints bullsh*t" story is being covered in enough threads already. Ta.
  7. I'd say he has. He basically said that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it is very different comenting on a club than actually running one. He also said the media were well wide of the mark with their reports on Pardew being under pressure and facing the sack. Well I'm sorry but if you want to print bullsh*t, can can't cry when you get found out. If Cortese hadn't pointed out that this was grade A bull, we'd have idiot on here convinced that the Echo was right and that Pardew is a dead man walking. Cortese can't win with everyone, but I think he has handled this situation perfectly.
  8. For you maybe. For me it would be an enormous help.
  9. I'd also like to defende NC with regards to his comments on MLT. He really hasn't slagged him off at all. He merely pointed out that MLT has voiced his opinion recently and stated that he is entitled to it, although it is in his opinioin misinformed.
  10. It saves a lot of hassle getting to the ticket office and queueing before a game, especially if your decision to go to the game is last minute. I also don't think there would be 5,000 ST holders who don't turn up to a sell out game somehow.
  11. Switzerland or Italy would be interesting and plausible.
  12. My point is that you have your seat and ST, but you only pay for the games you attend.
  13. Okay, pay monthly by direct debit then. Having empty seats isn't really much of an issue. Last season we averaged 20,982 attendances, so there were 11,000 empty seats most games anyway.
  14. Or possibly some form of fly paper. Might be a bit less lethal.
  15. That reminds me... Any chance of a season ticket where you use it all season, with some kind of swipe card system. Then come the end of the season you just pay a rate for the number of games you attend. It would certainly help people like me who can only get to roughly half the home gets each season. Extra turnstyles for swipe cards (i.e. STs) only would help aleviate some of the queues outside SMS before the games.
  16. Good. Now he can get on with signing Skacel.
  17. I assume this is sarcasm, or have I stumbled on a thread from 1998?
  18. - PA - Replace Stewart Dennis with someone more entertaining. Hot bird with big knockers would be nice. - More varied half time entertainment. Penalties against a man in a dog suit? Zzzzzz - More toilets - Beer taps which aren't supplied from said toilets - More food counters
  19. Agreed. Time to move on.
  20. I've been boycotting the Mail since the evening I was conceived anyway.
  21. Good. Hopefully the idiots and ITKs can STFU.
  22. Pearson is an excellent manager, I was gutted for him last night. Echoes of our playoff defeat. Losing 2-1 at home then pulling off a great comeback away, only to lose on pens. Still, for a newly promoted team that is a fantastic achievement. I'd definitely take a playoff defeat in our first season in CCC when we go up TBH.
  23. I think the red blob should be white, with red lettering.
  24. Rupert Lowe ran Saints on and off for 13 years. No, I'll stick with these novices thankyou very much.
  25. Hugh Jaenus.
