We played it this morning, people will be angry about hearing the same song twice in two days. FFS. I have Winchester down on my application form for Question Time, so they'll email me if they want me! Sounds good though mate.

Normal broadcasting rules - no swearing, also no undue prominence as we don't have advertisers. Show is an hour long, usually get through about 10-15 tracks depending on the length.

The phone in the studio is broken unfortunately atm, but when it's fixed we can take callers for features etc. Iris by Goo Goo Dolls? We have that on the playlist, i'll whack that on at about 3:45 for your other half. You owe me though That's the annoying thing, me and my mate that i'm doing the show with are very funny together (if i do say so) but half of the stuff we talk about isn't daytime-radio friendly. Might be a bit stilted at first but i'm sure we'll grow into the role.

I think Reading away will be a cracking game, the home fans at the Madejski are always quiet and sh!t plastics so we should be able to outsing them rather easily for 90 minutes.

I really want to go and see Tyrannosaur, it's meant to be fantastic. [video=youtube;nvyqXFmV-LI]

If I remember, I will dedicate a song to Mrs H at 3:45. I can't guarantee it will be a song that she likes though...

Dear Andrew, You can listen on the Surge Radio Facebook page and also on the Surge FM website if you wish to listen to me and a northern monkey blundering around in a hot studio for an hour. I would go to Reading but i've already got tickets, sorry mate. Do tell me about any future games you might have spaces for though mate.

Here's a catergory for you 'Teams you've only seen away'

Not for the first time Andy, I haven't got a f*cking clue what you're on about. I'll be presenting on Surge FM (the biggest student radio station in the south and multiple nominee at this years student radio awards) from 3-4 tomorrow with my mate Andreas. Ought to be a laugh.

Just ordered mine from Amazon for £24.99, it'll arrive at mine on release day which is pretty sweet.

If you watch this video from 3:32 to 4:48 it should give a definitive answer to the question posed by the OP. Yes, there is a fair amount of mis-representation of the US public in general in the video, but it does show that these people have no idea about the situation and the media brainwash them into certain opinions - certainly a very handy tactic during the Bush era when all the US government wanted to do was some war-mongering. As for Iran, the behaviour of their state officials and politicians has been a bit inflammatory of late, so it wouldn't surprise me if the American right-wing media were to take intervention in the country up as a paranoid mission.

Tomorrow marks the first edition of my radio show on a local radio station in Southampton that i'm presenting with a friend of mine. Has anyone done any radio presenting before and could offer me any tips from their experience? The output of the station is very music-heavy, and links are supposed to be about a minute long as a maximum, so I don't really have to worry too much about burbling on too much, but any random tips about planning shows or ideas for features would be appreciated. I think we're going to try to get a very thin theme going through the show each week, so any ideas for potential themes for listeners to contribute to as well as discussion for me and my co-host would be nice! Cheers

Can you pass the UK citizen test?

My Swedish grandmother took this test a few years ago in order to gain UK citizenship (she's been living here since the 1950s), it seems unneccessarily hard tbh. -

I got 10/24, i'm the worst one on here -
The fact is that young East Europeans will work for less than young Brits, so it's an easy decision for employers.

Would be great to see him in an England shirt, but it will never happen. There are dozens of strikers that have a better chance of getting into the England team than him unfortunately.

I'm literally fuming right now. I think it's good that we're trying to get people to donate to the Saints Foundation, they do a lot of good work and they're not very highly publicised outside of Southampton.

I've been using OpenOffice for 5 years, it's a quality piece of kit. It's not as flashy as the MS suite, but it gets the job done and is absolutely fine for academic work. As others have said, it opens MS files as well.

I learned about Polari when I was doing my A-level in English Language, it's a fascinating story. Amazing how polari words have permeated into our everyday language too - take 'naff' for example. The whole series of Fry's Planet Word has been great so far, just the kind of programming that we should be getting on the BBC I think.

Apparat - The Devil's Walk The perfect mix of Postal Service-esque electronic pop and dark, gloomy Eno-esque ambience. GET THIS ALBUM.

Chill out sailor, i'm just pointing out that the asking prices you put up were much higher than the ones I and others have signed those players for. Maybe it's that save game.

Smashed somebody over the head with a bottle in Whitehouse (now Cafe Parfait).

I signed Sordell for £5m, I had a deal agreed for Lewis for £2.1m before I signed Scott Loach instead and Burnley quoted me £8m for Rodriguez, although I reckon they'd sell for about £6-7m. Haggle ffs!

Sainsbury's on Burgess Road, Co-Op on Burgess Road. That is it.

Not a huge fan of Mumford and certainly not one of Ed Sheeran, but I agree that this type of music is mostly made by posh d!cks. Still, there's genuinely some very good stuff being written by very talented people that gets put into the same bracket as most of the rubbish that's around at the moment.
