I admit I had written Connolly off about this time last season, he'd spent so much time out injured that I didn't think he would come back. I have to say though, i'm f*cking glad he's in the side now. His movement is fantastic and although he's not got electric pace, he can still finish from anywhere. He's the kind of striker that likes to play on the shoulder of the last defender, but he - unlike others who play in that role - isn't scared to get involved with the build-up to a move. We're lucky to have 2 strikers who can pass just as well as almost anyone in our midfield (aside from maybe Schneiderlin) because it means that we can move the ball so quickly when we're on the attack. Oh, and his disallowed goal yesterday (which would have made it 5-1) was onside by at least a few yards, he was being played onside by Stephen Carr. Not sure if the flag went up for our other player (who was offside but not in the phase of play, not too sure of the ruling) but if it went up for Connolly it was definitely wrongly ruled offside.

Noticed there's an article on the OS about him making a quick step up through the youth levels, anyone reckon we'll see him in the first-team sooner rather than later? We're pretty sorted for CMs but if we get a few injuries or suspensions in that area of the squad I think we will see him making a few appearances.

I'd like us to beat as many teams as possible, but I have to agree with most on Brighton. Decent club that i've got nothing against particularly, except for their manager.

The youth team feature sounds good - but does that mean that new youth players will be able to consider contracts from other teams, or are they only available to sign for your youth team until they are told otherwise? I can envisage the frustration of having a quality youth player added to your team but getting poached by a bigger side before you can tie them down to a contract.

At the tender age of 19, I can claim to have lived through dozens of world-changing events. I suspect we will see dozens more before I die in 10 years time. The world population is rising rapidly, I think we'll encounter quite a few more problems with that in the next decade or so.
