  1. On air again from 3-5pm today, special 2 hour edition. You lucky sods.
  2. Bit of a re-hash tbh. Can't see us moving for Maynard, I think Prem sides will be interested if he's available for a smaller price than he was being touted around for in the summer.
  3. Jaidi's having an operation on his knee and is out for at least 6 weeks. We need to sign 1 or 2 squad players and another star striker in the January window imo, then we will truly be worthy of our lofty position I think.
  4. Problem is, he didn't do any of that. He bluntly told her that it wasn't his problem, and was needlessly aggressive towards her. You've illustrated on a forum post which probably took 2 minutes to write how simple it is to point those things out, but apparently doing the same for him is beyond his capabilities as an elected representative of the people in that area. As for the second part of your post, I would say that helping people with their problems is an absolute foundation of politics - what do we have politicians and governments for if not to help people? It's absurd to think that it's not his problem if somebody in his area is in trouble and needs advice. That's the thing I hate about modern politics, politicians have a very self-inflated view of themselves and most of them don't take the time to connect with the people who vote for them. How difficult would it have been for him to write an email suggesting the things that you posted just now? Instead he thought "f*ck the proles" and told her where to stick it. I think it's disgraceful tbh.
  5. Bless you my child.
  6. So you would have told an unemployed single mother of a child with learning difficulties to go stuff herself because her rent was going up by £250? When is your Tory leadership campaign starting, and how can I vote for you? It makes him a hypocrite because government systems are in place to help people, but he's basically just told her "i'm not bothered, now f*ck off". I think it's disgraceful tbh, this is exactly the kind of thing that elected government and council representatives should be helping with but Mr Coleman can't even be bothered.
  7. Thousands of Libyan people have died trying to liberate their country from a totalitarian dictator who mercilessly killed and tortured his own citizens - and who has been backed by various UK governments. There is no pride for us in his death, nor the liberation of Libya itself, because the Western leaders who sat back and did nothing for all those years while Gaddafi murdered the very people he was supposed to be ruling should have done something sooner. Unfortunately, the politics of oil decreed otherwise, and thousands of people suffered at his hands while we sat back and watched.
  8. BREAKING NEWS: Saints manager Nigel Adkins confirms that they "want to play football" and "it's about winning football matches". Reports are unconfirmed, but inside sources say that there is a "winning mentality" at the club. More to follow.
  9. I think you're deviating from the point a bit there, this lady only wrote to her councillor asking for advice on her situation - she wasn't after any cash or a council house or anything like that. All she wanted was for her elected representative to point her in the right direction in her time of need. What she got back from him was sarcasm and anger. She might have been eligible for some kind of grant, or there might have been something the local council could do to stop her landlord increasing her rent by £250 pcm. Fact of the matter is, she only wanted innocent advice and the councillor was needlessly aggressive and incredibly unprofessional towards her. It's nothing to do about bail-outs.
  10. Realised that after I posted, can't edit thread titles though... C*ntcillor Brian Coleman has a nice ring to it.
  11. I have to admit I hate it when the press focus on the yearly wage of a person as a negative, he does a job just like anyone else and that's what he gets paid. I suppose they put it in for contrast.
  12. Harding got chopped down outside the area shortly after he played the ball through to De Ridder, it was definitely a yellow card for the WHU player but surely that's what the advantage rule is for!? Book him after FFS. West Ham had some good chances but I don't think they deserved a point out of it as the Sky commentator said. We were the better team for long periods of the game and aside from the last 10 minutes West Ham barely put any consistent pressure on our defence. It's not really a 'bias' as some people are saying, but after our time in the L1 wilderness I think the media have mostly forgotten about us. Thankfully a 32k sellout and winning 3 points against 2nd place as well as increasing our lead at the top to 5 points might do something to change that...
  13. ...is a c*nt. http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-24000058-pound-120000-a-year-tory-tells-desperate-mother-to-live-in-real-world.do
  14. Anyone think they might purposely cause more trouble now that they've been forcibly evicted from their home of the last 50 years? I think they should have been left there tbh, the council put them there in the first place and took far too long to do anything about their expansions.
  15. F*cking brilliant!
  16. Chaplow for me, his energy in midfield was great. Hooiveld was fantastic though, as were Kelvin and Fox.
  17. Great fun winding up the West Ham fans from the bottom of the Itchen North, they were absolutely livid! If any of the 3 blokes winding up 'fatty' for the last half hour of the game are reading this, I owe you all a pint. Childishness aside, the West Ham fans were excellent until we scored. Best away fans i've seen at SMS in a while.
  18. I can see my house from up here. Nervy last 10 minutes but very happy with 3 points against a side that should arguably be in the Premier League with their squad.
  19. If we win: Saints Smash Hammers If we lose: Saints Smashed By Hammers If we draw: Saints' Halos Provide Adequate Cover To Avoid Smashing By Hammers
  20. Got into the Roses a few years ago, would love to see them. Odds on them playing the O2 at £50 a pop...?
  21. Could you do me one of Super Ted please Baj? Muchos gracias senorita xxx
  22. Not a lot of people will know his work, but Toumani Diabate is playing at the Turner Simms Gallery in the Uni campus on November 10th. Should be a cracker, he's a genius. Not everyone's cup of tea, but for those who appreciate this kind of thing it will be great. Saw him at Glastonbury a few years back and he was fantastic.
  23. This is going to be a f*cking corker, great to see a 32k sell-out for a midweek game in October!
  24. That's a billion people you're generalising there... family is actually very integral to chinese culture and if those people were not scared of the repurcussions of their actions, I am sure far more than 2 would have stopped to help her. As for the one-child policy, that only really applies to those in cities. Officials are quite lenient with families in rural areas because they need children to help them run their households. It is true that boys are more highly valued in chinese society, but your wording of the cases of infanticide makes it seem far more prominent in China than it actually is. China is still a country on the way up, but unfortunately this video illustrates that there are still moral flaws in chinese society.
  25. If he's done his knee, i'm afraid that could be it for him at this level. Shame because he seems like a great bloke and on his day he's unstoppable.
