  1. Ffs, Coventry pull one back.
  2. Just recorded my biggest ever Football Manager win - playing as Crawley we just beat Gillingham 10-0 in the league! A hat-trick from Matt Tubbs, a hat-trick from Robin Nelisse (as well as 3 assists) and 4 goals from Wesley Thomas sealed the deal. Average team rating was 8.79!
  3. 1-0 saints! Chaplowwwwwww
  4. Chaplow's been offside a few times this game, he is obviously a centre mid!
  5. F*cking hell, Appleton is a scary bastard!
  6. The key is that most of their team have been playing together for quite a few years now, it's the kind of thing that we're seeing with our squad. Teams that go up and buy a lot of players are often disjointed, Newcastle have added quality players in key positions and it seems to be working for now. Give it until January to see how they will really do this season, they haven't got the strength in depth that teams like Man Utd, Chelsea etc have.
  7. Things that need to be changed in the next patch (for MLG) - Chaplow's workrate and pace need to be higher - De Ridder's finishing needs to be much higher - Schneiderlin's tackling and positioning need to be higher - Hammond's positioning needs to be higher - Lambert's finishing needs to be slightly higher
  8. I went to the Mayflower Park display last year, and it was fantastic. Go to that one.
  9. The players on this game are very easily irritated - I made 9 changes to my team to face Bradford in the league (won 3-1) before the cup game on Tuesday against Millwall (yet to play) and one of the players who was rested (Scott Davies) came to me saying I had broken my promise about starting him in more games. I've started him in every game so far this season apart from that one! Bit of a glitch there.
  10. What a c*nt. Regardless of political stance, this is a deplorable act.
  11. He got the idea for the thread from the West Ham online forum - Knees Up Mother Brown.
  12. I know, I just like to wind him up.
  13. FFS Andrew, I clearly stated in my post that he's a midfielder. Open your eyes
  14. Just knocked Saints out in the 2nd Round of the League Cup with Crawley. My 2 star players were away on international duty (Tyrone Loran and Robin Nelisse - both with Curacao/Dutch Antilles) so I thought we'd get thrashed. We took an early lead when in the 12th minute, a long throw by David Hunt was nodded in at the near post by Calum Angus. Our lead was increased a mere 2 minutes later by Sergio Torres, who was found unmarked at the far post by Matt Tubbs. Steve De Ridder caused us problems throughout the whole game, and he pulled one back for Saints by slotting in from a corner in the 27th minute. Rickie Lambert then scored a penalty after David Hunt brought De Ridder down after a mazy run. Hunt went on a bit of a mad one, and gave away a free kick just outside the area on the left hand side, which was crossed in by Guly and Schneiderlin connected with a diving header at the near post. 3-2 to Saints at half time. At half time I told the team they were doing well, but that if they kept going they could still get a win. This got the players riled up, and they came out for the second half raring to go. Both teams had numerous chances to score in the second half, but it wasn't until the 92nd minute that Matt Tubbs popped up at the back post with a header from a pinpoint Sergio Torres cross to take the game into Extra Time. My fears were increased when Steve De Ridder popped up just 20 seconds into Extra Time to make it 4-3, and I thought there would be no way back from there. Luckily, that man Sergio Torres came to the rescue again, as he scored a screamer from 35 yards out to make it 4-4 on 110 minutes. The game simmered down after that, with both teams resigned to a penalty shootout. In the end, it took 9 penalties for us and 10 penalties for Saints, but Crawley came out on top in the end - winning 7-6. Well chuffed with that!
  15. Sebastian Gregersen, he's a 16 year old midfielder on trial with us for a few weeks from Aarhus. HTH
  16. Blackpool got mugged at home the other day and so did Cardiff. This is a temperamental league!
  17. Appreciated. Always worked, the longest time Post-16 that i've been unemployed for was a month - and that's between leaving my old job at home and moving to Uni last year. Keeps you ticking over. I think a lot of people my age will get a bit of a shock when it comes to being in the working world after they graduate, young people seem a bit cosseted.
  18. Unfortunately not, I was signing people up for grants for home insulation. Spent most of my summer up in dusty lofts in Totton while my mates were off seeing the world. Sigh. If I bothered anyone over the summer with my house calls, I apologise!
  19. The lino wasn't too impressed with NA's party trick - a karaoke version of Cannibal Corpse's 'Hammer Smashed Face'.
  20. Steve De Ridder Steve Steve De Ridder He's the king Out on the wing ?
  21. Just started a game with Crawley, signed Robin Nelisse on a free who scored a hat-trick against Aston Villa in his first game, then promptly was put out injured by Richard Dunne for a month. The bastard.
  22. I got a few calls the other day from a bloke in an Asian call centre telling me there was something wrong with my computer - i've had those calls about 3 or 4 times now. Starting to annoy me that is.
  23. I can only imagine. I got quite a lot of abuse in that month, and overall I made £145 due to it being a commission-only job. Insult to injury really... It was interesting to see the trust that people have in strangers though, some people would let you into the house with no worries but others would be much more cautious.
  24. The ref was appalling last night, but he made the right decision to send Frecklington off I think. Both tackles were stonewall yellows, and making those two challenges within 10 minutes of each other is indicative of dangerous play imo.
  25. I did door-to-door for a month over the summer, and it was the dreariest worst job i've ever had. 9 hours of trudging the streets of some backarse town trying to not get stabbed by the mental homeowners, 6 days a week. Nobody enjoys that job, so try and be a little bit nice to them.
