Well they've got to try and take something off us this season...and it sure as hell isn't going to be points! Good luck to him I say.
-
Great news, he's been outstanding for us so far this season. Long may it continue!
-
Would love to sign him, perhaps the offer of first-team football would tempt him?

Clyne would have been near the top of my list of potential signings at the start of the season, but Frazer's been one of our best players so far. However, if we're on the lookout for a second striker, we couldn't do much better than sign Zaha imo. When he came on in the Carling Cup against us he made our players look like idiots, he's only 18 as well. Sign him up Nige! -
Gunter can study Anthropology while I get into the tactics involved with Reverse Cowgirl.

But....then we wouldn't have beaten Hull last night! -
Difference being that Lallana works hard and moves into space, Guly is far happier to drop deep from the forward line and receive the ball rather than making runs in behind the defence. Quite often, that can be misconstrued as laziness on Guly's part - but last night he was a passenger at times and didn't run at all, whether to drop deep or go in behind the defence. That coupled with very negative body language and no attempts at recovering second balls in important areas (something that was very evident against Bristol City as well, even from the highlights) have caused people to get on his back a bit. He's still an integral part of the team, but he either needs a rest to get some energy back into his game or sort his f*cking attitude out, because we can't have two static players up front, especially if there's no Chaplow/SDR in the side to run in off them.

I thought the booing at half time was bad, but we were pretty bad and 1-0 down against Hull when we've been beating better teams all season at SMS. Luckily we started the 2nd half well and got the crowd going, because I hate to think what the atmosphere would have been like if we hadn't scored until about the 80th minute. My one bit of moaning about our support last night is directed towards the 'lads' at the back of Block 38 who sing the "Cheryl Cole's a slapper" song every 5 minutes at every single f*cking home game this season. There's a reason it's never caught on - because it's a sh!t song. Also, Danny Fox wasn't even playing last night ffs!

Best. News. Ever.

I slipped over and banged my head hard on a coffee table while celebrating Brett's goal in the FA Cup Semi-Final against Villa on the TV all the way back in 03, and i've bruised my shins on many occasions at SMS celebrating goals!

Definitely, but whether they'll be getting rid of AVB now after spending a lot of money to get him and only giving him a few months in charge is doubtful. The Sunderland board will give their new manager a bit of money to spend in January and they've already got a decent squad, could be tempting to a high-profile manager to build the club up.

They've got a bit of money to splash about, could tempt in a high profile manager from Europe - i've heard Hiddink is on their shortlist from my Mackem mate.

He was very frustrating at times last night, but overall a decent performance. The thing that irked me about him was his negative body language and not going for the second ball when he lost possession. I've noticed that he's not been going in for those second balls in the last couple of home games... either he's carrying a slight knock or he needs to get a bit more stuck in up front. During the Brighton game he was charging around up front and chasing down balls, but last night he was very subdued and was dropping a lot deeper rather than putting any pressure on the defence. I think he's a great player to have in the squad and he's been fantastic this season, but there are little tweaks he can make to his game and his demeanour which would endear himself more to fans to get behind him.

First half was the worst i've seen Saints play at home in a long, long time. No imagination, no movement, no penetration and no energy. That wasn't helped by Hull pressing us and actually attacking as well. Nige bringing on SDR was a great move (arguably he should have started, but maybe he will on Saturday vs Donny), as Morgan didn't look very comfortable out wide. He gave us that bit of zip, making runs behind the defence and running at his marker with the ball as opposed to the sideways and backwards passes we had been making all game when confronted with a Hull player. We improved in the second half but still weren't at our best, which makes a comeback and 3pts against a good side very pleasing. I'm just hoping and praying that we play well against Donny on saturday, because a game that I wasn't worried about at all a few months ago has now become a tricky one for us - our bad away form and their good run of form recently should make it an interesting one.

I remember the first time I found out who he was, he was on Celebrity Big Brother about 4 or 5 years ago so I did a bit of googling to find out who he was and found out he directed Tommy - one of my favourite films. Seemed like a proper eccentric genius and a nutter, must have been a lot of mayhem going on around him in his heyday! I have to admit I haven't seen any of his films apart from Tommy, i'll have to watch a few of those soon.

A mate of mine has been obsessed with him for ages now, tried to get me into his work but not my cup of tea personally. What I have been listening to recently is Dan Mangan's new album - 'Oh Fortune'. Been a fan of Dan's for a few years now since hearing his first album back in 2006 and rediscovering it a while later (coincidentally just before he released his second album), and caught him at consecutive Glastonbury festivals these past 2 years. He's improved a lot as a musician, and that is reflected in this latest album. While his older material is brilliant, it does tend to follow a similar pattern to most others in his genre - folky bluesy acoustic singer/songwriter stuff. There's nowt wrong with that at all, but few could get away scott-free with 3 albums of it. The signs were there in his second album of a change in direction, and this album really shows the changes he's made to his sound. At Glastonbury '11 this summer (opening the Other Stage on Sunday morning) he played with a full band with lots of drum bashing and guitar wailing, which is something that I found a bit odd at the time because none of his new material had been released before then. I have to say though, i'm mightily impressed with this new album. 'How Darwinian' combines jaunty rhythms, jangling shoegaze guitar shuffles and distorted electric wails to create a bloody lovely sound, and is probably my favourite track on the album. Having said that, there are some really great songs included on this record, with honourable mentions going to 'Rows of Houses', 'Post-War Blues' and 'Jeopardy'. I think and hope that this will really kickstart Dan's career, because he's an immensely talented musician and songwriter as well as being a really nice bloke into the bargain. Either way, get this album now and you can say you were ahead of the curve when he's performing Superbowl shows in the year 2067

I urge those of you who are playing as Saints - sign Jan Chramosta. Got him for £5.75m and he's been worth every penny so far, he's scored 14 goals in 11 games (including 2 amazing strikes against the Skates).

Why would Harlee put that on Twitter ffs? What an idiot.
-
On the whole, yes. But the growing support for far-right organisations like the BNP and EDL show that acceptance for immigrants amongst certain sections of society is waning. A lot of problems within our society seem to be blamed on innocent people coming here to work when really there are other reasons.
-
I'd love it, LOVE IT if we signed Dyer back - he's been Swansea's best player all season. He was quality against Man Utd the other week.
-
I'm sorry, but there's no place for reprehensible people like her in today's society. How are these people coming to live and work in this country supposed to integrate and settle if there are morons like her spouting off like that? If people were more accepting of immigrants and 'foreigners' then we would undoubtedly live in a more peaceful country. People like her cause the tension that leads all foreign people in this country to be stigmatised.
-
What is a country apart from a border? I think to have pride in a nation to the exclusion of others is ridiculous. We're all human, we all live on this earth, but it's completely ignorant f*cking scum like her that are holding us all back from peace and unity as a species.

It's quiet..... too quiet.

From watching those 15 minutes of highlights, I can deduce that we were pony, Fonte's defending for the 2nd goal was really pony, and Guly was f*cking pony.

Little bugger's gone under my bed now. Thanks for the advice Deano, i'm going to call my landlady tomorrow and see what she can sort out. Funny thing is that we're going to have people coming to see the house over the next few weeks because it's up for rent again when our lease expires - would be hilarious if they saw a mouse!
