  1. Always a good thing to build for the future, trains here are pretty sh!te and improvements are needed. Whether this is the right time to spend £33bn when there are almost 3m unemployed people in the country is debatable...
  2. First of all, i'm sorry for your loss. Hope your family are bearing up mate. How young are the children? I remember my Mum telling me and my younger Brother when I was about 6 and he was 4, that my Gran's partner (who we idolised as our Grandfather died long before we were born) was seriously ill in hospital and we just didn't understand at all. He died a few days later, and then when we went to visit my Gran as a family for christmas, my brother and I kept asking where he was. It's a difficult thing to explain the loss of a loved one like that. Putting it in simple terms with few details is probably the best option, but I think the most important thing from your end is don't expect the children to fully understand at first. I don't know if your family is religious or not, but heaven is a good thing to talk about I think. Hope the advice helps mate.
  3. I view myself as a Scottish person, and know quite a few Scottish people as well having lots of family in the country. I think the general consensus is that independence is a great thing in theory, but more difficult in practice. I've raised this question with my grandmother before (who is actually Swedish, but has lived in Scotland for nigh on 60 years and is now a British citizen), and she said that independence would be a great thing if the North Sea oil reserves had been left intact, because then Scotland would have a major industry to stimulate the economy. As it is, the NHS and the Armed Forces are the 2 largest employers in Scotland, so unless Scotland managed to stay involved with the NHS and the Armed Forces, many jobs would have to be created which the Scottish parliament doesn't have enough cash to do. The reason that Alex Salmond wants to postpone any vote on independence until 2014 is that there are some serious flaws in his argument for independence which need to be researched and rectified. I don't think he quite knows how to approach the issue successfully from a Scottish and a British perspective, very difficult to keep both sides happy in this situation. I think a straw poll of the Scottish public would be a good idea before anything goes much further on this.

When was this?! Haven't been out in fleet for ages...
  5. Would be a shame to lose Holmes and Forte without bringing in players to replace them who are of a higher quality - but it looks like we're after more players than I thought we would be.
  6. Tadanari Lee was at the game today according to Nige, and has done well over the past few days training with the rest of the squad. Didn't want to say too much about the work permit, but didn't sound overly concerned.
  7. Saints players want Chelsea away according to Nigel, because then Jack Cork might get a game at Stamford Bridge!
  8. He's a good player to have on the bench, provides width and has a great cross on him. If he was pacier and didn't have his injury problems he'd be starting every week imo.
  9. Martin makes it 2-1! COME ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. He usually plays at CB I think - would be a good signing imo. Cov could do with the cash at the moment as well. We sound so much more dangerous when we're playing 4-4-2, had 4 or 5 chances since the goal! I can understand Nige's thinking with playing the midfield diamond as his wide options were slightly limited given his makeshift strikers, but it's slightly negative to start with that formation. Good thing they've gone in at half time and it's been changed around, we sound pretty dangerous now! Can see us getting a 2nd goal within 10 minutes.
  11. Ward-Prowse scores! 1-1!
  12. Hoskins on for Doble.
  13. Incredibly ungrateful really, given our position. 3 years ago I would've murdered somebody to see my team not only survive administration and a points deduction, but to build a good team, win a cup final at Wembley, gain promotion from L1 and be top of the Championship in January. These people who are complaining are those who just can't get behind the team and support us through a rough patch rather than criticise at every turn. Ward-Prowse misses a sitter just as the second half kicks off. Promising, Nige must have given them some stirring words at HT!
  14. God, what a bunch of moaning c*nts our fans are.
  15. Bigarigamanana not doing his job apparently according to Whispering Dave Harding sounding dangerous down the right, Bart sounding assured in goal. We'll pull this one back.

He's just an attention seeker - why start a thread about getting banned from another forum on another forum and then write every other post on the thread? Nice to see I get a mention in there though, my heart is always with you Turky.
  17. Unfortunately it looks like The Talking Heads is struggling at the moment financially and could be closing down, which is why all of us need to show our support and like the link below: http://www.facebook.com/saveourheads Big Twitter spamming planned for 12.45pm tomorrow with the hashtag #saveourheads - all to raise awareness for the plight of the 'Heads. Had some great nights there, and it would be horrible to see it close.
  18. There is actually a bloke who recreated the Japanese leagues for FM12, and he's done player stats for every player in the J-league. You can get the add-on from www.fm-base.co.uk. Looking at Tadanari's attributes, the main ones that he's picked out are Work Rate/Teamwork, Anticipation, Dribbling and Technique. Good Stamina and Agility as well.
  19. Thanks for posting Seagull, always nice to see a fan from another team posting. I do think that Brighton set up to make the most of challenges where they think there's a chance of the other player getting booked, but unfortunately I think that's a facet of the modern game that we just have to accept really. So much power is in the referees' hands when they have to make a decision on the pitch and players love to influence their decisions now, dodgy calls are made in every game. However I think that we suffered unfairly the other day at the hands of some poor refereeing decisions, notably Rickie's sending-off (he wasn't even looking at El-Abd as he pushed him off him, and El-Abd arguably could have been booked for a) diving and b) obstruction. Brighton are by no means the only team that set up like this, i've seen some of our players make the most of some mistimed challenges this season. It's just not a particularly endearing tactic to opposition fans, which makes it more frustrating when Brighton (and other) fans say that our players dive and are dirty.
  20. Yes please, would be a quality signing, even if on loan. My Brum supporting mate who goes to Saints games with me reckons he's one of the best strikers in England outside the PL, good stand-in for Rickie as well (although he's too good to just be a back-up!).

    Lallana

He was absolutely fantastic in the first few months of the season, this is true. His performance levels have dropped recently, this is also true. However, we all know what Adam is capable of. What is important is for us to support Adam while he's not in form. We all want him back to his best, and the quickest way for him back to his peak is with all of us getting behind him!
  22. Frank Ocean comes in 2nd place, winner to be announced tomorrow.
  23. @Macdoodle Just started getting into it a bit, sent 4 tweets this week!
  24. Probably not on Saturday then...
  25. Looks like quite an intense chap...
