Wouldn't mind signing Fuller back tbh, not sure how much longer he'll be at Stoke with Crouchie there...

The "why did they think I would want that for christmas" thread
SuperMikey replied to Spudders's topic in The Lounge
I spent about £14 on each of my brothers for their presents, which is about right I think. Got them a nice t-shirt each and some stuff to go with it. I got in return from them, a bar of Galaxy and a fiver. They're 18 and 14. I still feel a bit cheated tbh. -
Can you please rank the other 5,936 in descending order? I would love to know what you think xxx

Jesus christ, what a load of bullsh!t...

Band of Brothers is fantastic, much better than The Pacific.
-
Morgan and Hooiveld were absolutely amazing, it's a tie between them tbh. Morgan was more eye-catching and his passing was perfect, but Hooiveld looked so assured and I was never in doubt of him.
-
We had a lot more than 52% possession today, Palarse barely had the ball! Thought it was more like 65%-35%. Our passing today was f*cking brilliant by all accounts, we haven't passed the ball about like that at home for a few weeks and it looks like our team is filled with confidence again.

Yeah the relays are great fun actually, completely free as well to put on for the club.
-
Davis 6 - Didn't have anything to do today. Frazer 7 - Not his usual bombing-forward self today as Steve was playing further forward than Schneiderlin/Chaplow usually do, but did his job well and put in a great cross for the 2nd goal. Fox 7 - Did well, put some good crosses in from deep and kept Zaha quiet all day. Didn't get forward very much but we tended to attack down the right today, so it's understandable. Fonte 7 - Solid, wasn't really troubled by any of the forward 3. Could maybe work on his long passing a bit but that's a small criticism. Hooiveld 9 - Can't fault him at all today, absolutely brilliant. What a find by Nige & Co! De Ridder 8 - Was fantastic, running at his markers and putting crosses in all game. He works so hard and really got stuck into his tackling today. Only criticism is his crossing needs to be improved, but that's it. Lallana 6 - Quiet game for him, we attacked down the right mostly but Adam did okay. Put in a few good challenges when he drifted inside and linked up well with the rest of the midfield. Schneiderlin 9 - Absolutely sublime, one of the best performances i've seen at SMS this season. Every pass hit its target and he broke up play really well in the middle. Has to start vs Brizzle. Cork 8 - Outshone by Morgan today but a very solid performance from him today. Won the ball well, passed it nicely and tracked everything they put through the middle. Lambert 7 - Was used in an aerial role, but still put in a good shift. Had one opportunity to shoot where he passed instead, reckon we should be encouraging him to shoot more often because he's got that in his locker. Guly 6 - Took his goals well, but he really frustrated me today. At times he would just stand there and look at play going on instead of actually moving or doing anything. No attempts to win anything in the air, no attempts to win the second ball either. The problem with Guly today is that he was doing the simple stuff wrong - he wasn't keeping possession in key areas of the pitch and he was misplacing passes everywhere. The annoying thing about him is that he can do the simple stuff wrong and then pull something out of the bag like his 2 goals today. Don't get me wrong, I really rate him when he's on his game, but recently he's looked like he doesn't give a stuff, and people are starting to get really frustrated with him. Think he needs a talking-to from Nige & Co, just to make it at least look like he's trying!

You obviously weren't at Charlton away last season...

I don't think the BBC could have picked a bigger conglomeration of people I hate to appear on one programme - McIntyre, Corden, Hart, Brydon (albeit to a lesser extent than the other 3)...
-
Just checked - there's no Royle Family on this year! F*cking rubbish. The BBC have been trailing with Royle Family clips as well for this year!
-
McIntyre could be used as a method of torture. I was mildly tempted to watch the programme because Sean Lock was on it, but gave it a miss in favour of another glass of red and watching some Alan Partridge on my laptop. All the best 'christmas' TV is on after christmas though, Charlie Brooker's 2011 Wipe is on Dec 30th and Royle Family is on tomorrow (I presume so anyway - I thought it was on this evening!). do you still have to hide behind the sofa ? It's a last-minute winner for Post of the Year!
-
I suppose you're too cool for Dr Who. How's your turkey escalope for one treating you?
-
Dr Who was sh!te unfortunately, i'm a big fan too. Royle Family is on at some point though to pick things up.

Thought he was out until the end of the season? Think he's having more surgery on his ankle.

Guly was definitely MIA today, he was nowhere near the ball for most of the game. We played it long to try and cancel out their 5-man midfield and I don't think that worked, their defenders were all over Rickie like herpes and Guly was playing too deep and wasn't on the shoulder like he should be if we are playing it long. Good that we didn't lose away from home, but it's something that we really need to improve on if we are going to challenge for the title and not just settle when we're in such a brilliant position to do so at the moment. I can't wait until Chaplow is back, he's been integral in some of our best performances this season running in off the wing. As for the goal, Guly should have done a lot better but he's a striker, not a defender. Really you should have your full-backs on the posts and not your attacking players. I hope that doesn't knock him too much because we still have 2 games before January, those 2 games are crucial for him to prove why he should be starting and we shouldn't bring somebody else in to take his place. One thing that struck me today was that our full-backs weren't overlapping and we were sitting very deep defensively - obviously that was to deal with their long-ball counter-attacking style of play, but I don't think it helped when we were on the attack. A lot of our goals come from out wide, and nobody was overlapping to put in those crosses from the byline, they were coming in deep from Richardson and Fox which made them easier to defend for P*mpey. Still, i'm relatively pleased with a point even though i'm disappointed given that we were ahead. All I can think about now is smashing them at SMS in April! COYR!

Fink - Perfect Darkness Mixes trip-hop stylings with acoustic songwriting. Think if Massive Attack had a baby with Damien Rice. Laura Marling - A Creature I Don't Know Moving away from her girl'n'guitar origins slightly and recruiting a boombastic backing band to illustrate her amazing talent, Laura's building up a very solid repetoire with this album. Apparat - The Devil's Walk Very hard to pin the style down on this album, think dark electro with elements of trip-hop and pop thrown in. Either way, some cracking songs on there - especially 'Goodbye'. Dan Mangan - Oh Fortune I love Dan's music, and like Laura Marling, he's recruited a band for his third album. Different in style to his previous records slightly, but the change illustrates his great voice and songwriting talents. Friendly Fires - Pala While their first album was a bit of a one-hit-wonder, this is a different matter entirely. There are some excellent tunes on here, notably 'Blue Cassette', 'Hawaiian Air' and 'Pull Me Back To Earth'.

See we've been linked with Chris Humphrey of Motherwell and a 6 month deal for Antti Niemi... -
Those stairs are stupidly dangerous - especially when it's been raining Most of the students at the Uni are decent people - having met quite a lot of them I can say that as opposed to maybe the likes of eric who dislike what the students represent (change in an area being the main reason) as opposed to the people themselves. Having said that, there are quite a few "odious c*nts" as he so aptly put it living near me near campus, I dislike the shrieky, yelpy fancy-dress students as much as everyone else!

Gunman named as Nordine Amrani by police, he was known to them for firearms offences. The name suggests that he's of Algerian/North African descent, not Pakistani.
-
Wow, nice one man! Looks like Man City are going to walk that group though. Your GK looks like a bit of a woofter as well.
-
Dune, the quote in your 'location' is quite interesting - surely your abject worship of the Tories is akin to abject worship of the state? Arguably our politicians are the state in our political system.

Jaidi is retiring at the end of the season and Seaborne is pretty much out of the picture for the time being, which leaves us with 3 senior centre-backs on our books. We need a centre-back who's going to be pushing Jose and Jos for a starting berth but with a bit of pace about them - that's something we seem to lack at the back. Miles Addison would be my choice, currently on loan at Barnsley and is doing pretty well by all accounts. Plays for Derby but doesn't seem to be favoured by Clough, so they'll probably let him go without too much of a fuss. I think Adomah would be a fantastic signing as well, he's got the energy and pace we need on the wing - a combination of Chaplow's workrate and De Ridder's skill and pace. Wouldn't come cheap, but worth the investment I feel. Striker is a tricky one, as I pointed out on another thread Connolly is out of contract at the end of the season and Barnard's injury problems could spell the end for him here unfortunately. That leaves us with Lambert and Guly as our only senior strikers, and one of them isn't even really a striker. Bringing in 1 or 2 strikers would be a good move, although it could cause a problem with the wage bill because DC and LB would still be on the books even if they will probably be moving on at the end of the season - nobody will want either of them in January when one of them is free in 6 months and the other is crocked atm. Somebody posted about Craig Gordon coming back to full fitness and looking for a loan, he would be a fantastic signing. He's been out of favour in the past while because of injury problems, but with MON in charge now it remains to be seen whether he will have a future up there or not. If he's going to be on the move then we should almost certainly bid for him in Jan - quality GK.
