I've looked around on the UCAS website a bit and found a few degree courses in Radio, Production, Broadcast Journalism and that kind of thing. I think that might be the route to go down.

Thanks for the advice mate, and everybody else that's posted in the thread. Work experience isn't too much of a problem for me as i've been working since I was 16 but I will definitely look at doing some voluntary work over the summer. I'm definitely not complaining about student life, my life at the moment is very easy compared to many others, it's just that i've lost interest in studying my degree. I might look to change to a different degree course in September, although all that's going to do is delay my graduation by another 2 years...sigh.

That's something to chalk up in the 'For University' column there

I'm in the second year of my course, I still find the subject interesting but that interest is rapidly waning. Good point about it looking bad on my CV though, it's obviously a drawback. I'm just not really sure what having a degree in my subject will achieve apart from an interviewer looking at it and going "Hmm". If I was studying something more vocational then I would be okay, but Anthropology doesn't give me a leg-up on anyone else for a job that I could really be applying for now anway. The job market at the moment is awful though, I applied for 25 jobs over the summer and only one of them got back to me (never had a problem getting a job before this summer) because of the sheer number of applicants at the moment. Not fussed about finding a highly-paid job, because I think i'll live in squalor and filth regardless of what I get paid in the future anyway, I just want to do something that I love. Discovering Radio (which I have been involved with for a few months Verbal) has been a big thing for me this year, and it's partly led me to this train of thought about dropping out. I've never been a particularly academic person anyway, i've just scraped through where academia is concerned and been happy with that. Uni just seemed like the natural progression because I didn't really know what I wanted to do with my life a few years ago. I don't have a much greater idea about that now, but it's starting to dawn on me.

I'm in two minds as to whether to continue my degree course or jack it in at the moment. My reasoning for the doubt is that i'm not really sure how useful a degree in Anthropology will be in the 'real world' - something that I perhaps should have considered when I applied to uni in the first place. Any drop-outs on here that can give me their opinions and experiences? I'd love to get into radio if I did leave uni, not presenting (unless there was an opportunity) but just working in a studio on the production side of things. Anyone hook me up?

Clunk That's the sound of a bunker door opening to reveal a heavily productive crystal meth lab, for which the peaceful countryside farm is an elaborate front.

I think we might be getting ideas above our station perhaps.

You do know we're playing them on Saturday, right? Most of the media coverage surrounding this fixture will focus on the pseudo-rivalry and will inevitably be a bit controversial. I'll be interested to read about Poyet wanting B.RightOn to be like Saints, although it'll probably be something like using a small number of players and taking chances blah blah blah.

Apparently opened talks over permanant Hooiveld deal

I think we'll get him for somewhere between £750k-£1.25m. Worth every penny based on what he's done so far this season! -
The Swedish leagues are full of Kenyan players - Inter Milan have a Kenyan midfielder called McDonald Mariga (HCDAJFU) who used to play in the Swedish leagues and earned himself a big money move to Italy.

My little brother got a copy of this for his birthday on Friday, so when I went home for the weekend I managed to get in a few hours of gameplay. I have to say, it's great. I shall be playing more over Christmas instead of revision.

The advert is actually pretty good, it's quite sweet. But i'm not a fan of the song cover...nothing can top the original for me.

IGN have just reviewed Skyward Sword and given it a staggering 100%! Absolutely glowing review posted below:

Just watched the first episode of Life's Too Short, the new Gervais & Merchant show on BBC2. It's pretty funny, although the bit with Liam Neeson doing improv comedy was just absolute genius! Give it a watch.

Had a very good time, he had an excellent backing band - their sound was brilliant. There were about half a dozen people that ran down to the front and started dancing like reanimated corpses during the 2nd or 3rd song, that was funny to watch. He's playing in Brighton and London this week before his tour finishes, see if you can catch him!

Saw this gig earlier, it was brilliant. Anyone else go?
-
Don't even bother with NSC, they're a bunch of f*cking morons. I don't mind Brighton tbh, I hate Poyet but I don't have a problem with the club. Their fans seem to be a bit dim though, I went on that forum in the build-up to the game at the Withdean last season and they were just completely blinkered and you couldn't reason with them at all!

Me too. HEIL HITLER! Uh, I mean, go EDL!

No problem, Sweden is a great country to manage in. Are Trelleborgs in any European competition?

I was going to go to a reserve match once, but I couldn't make it. That was the match where Peter Crouch scored an overhead kick, I think against QPR or Villa reserves? One of his ex-teams. I think reserve matches should be open to the public tbh, it's good to see our young players coming through the ranks and it gives us the chance to see how our fringe players are playing too.

His play for the 2nd and 3rd goals was quality, he must have been about 15 or 16 then.

That's libellous isn't it?
