  1. I can't see us spending more than £2m on a player, not unless he really is the dog's b*llocks. I think we have 4 or 5 CURRENT first-team members who could cut it in the Premiership if we got promoted next year (that's a big IF), and they are: Lallana Schneiderlin Fonte Lambert? (Older than the others, would get battered about a lot as well so would pick up a few injuries) Chamberlain With players like Luke Shaw, James Ward-Prowse, Jake Sinclair etc. coming through the ranks, and considering what Cortese has said about his plans for the academy, we will be looking for 2-3 year stop-gaps while these youth players mature. We need to surround our young players with calm, experienced heads who will be able to help the young players grow.
  2. I don't think Chambo meant the first one, but he definitely meant the second! It's either between Chambo's second vs Daggers or Guly's vs Blackpool in the cup. Great strikes.
  3. Still in 2 minds as to whether I should go along to see P-Do tonight, I haven't got a ticket... anyone know if there's some left still? The gig has been taken off the ticket websites.
  4. Don't put those ideas in my head man! Botfly videos on YouTube are a hobby of mine...sick and twisted as it is.
  5. F*ck it, if i'm still alive tomorrow i'll go then. I want all of you guys at my wake if I die, then you can sing "There's only one SuperMikey, one SuperMikey...". It's even got the right number of syllables.
  6. Hi guys, I woke up this morning to find a bite on the underside of my right arm which wasn't there yesterday. My whole arm feels quite sluggish and heavy, almost like a dead arm. It's also itching quite a lot away from the bite, on the other side of my arm. I don't know what could have bitten me, but considering my accommodation is covered in cobwebs from tip to toe i'm thinking it may be a spider bite. Do you reckon it's worth going to see the doc about or should I tough it out?
  7. Eagles has quality, but as Dibden said, he lacks consistency. He's quite similar to Lallana as well in playing style. Burnley wouldn't let him go without a fight either.
  8. That's what it says on the authors credits - it may be a foreword or something.
  9. Would be gutted if he went - it would make our youth team on FM12 a lot weaker...
  10. Just been on another book binge - bought some that i've been wanting to get for a while and some which come highly recommended from this thread: How I Escaped My Certain Fate - Stewart Lee For Whom The Bell Tolls - Ernest Hemingway On The Road - Jack Kerouac Catch-22 - Joseph Heller/Howard Jacobson Dog Soldiers - Robert Stone God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything - Christopher Hitchens War and Peace - Leo Tolstoy Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Hunter S. Thompson All of those books came to about £33 inc. P&P. I love Amazon!
  11. At around 19 minutes in, there's a clip of Matty's goal against Newcastle with a voice-over "As the money rolled in, foreign players flocked to the Premier League". He may have a French surname, but come on!
  12. I've never seen a Saints player out in town, what am I doing wrong? Someone please help.
  13. He's on astronomical wages at Newcastle, something close to £50k p/w, not to mention that he'd probably cost a couple of mil to start with. I sincerely doubt that Cortese would splash out anywhere near that much on a player whose best years are behind him. Not that he wouldn't be a good signing for us though, if he wants to come on loan!
  14. Seen him play a few times against St. Johnstone and he's impressed me every time. He comes undone against pacy strikers (not that there's that many of them floating about in the SPL!) but good in the air and strong too.
  15. Agreed, but Huhne and Cable aren't happy at all with being in power alongside the Tories. I think Clegg would rather break up the coalition than lose those 2 from the party, so we might see our beloved ConDem government break up before too long.
  16. Championship play-offs, not League One
  17. Morgan was playing quite deep yesterday - almost in front of the back 4. It's just a possibility, I don't think he's entirely comfortable with playing as an out-and-out striker and prefers to float around in the final third like he did yesterday.
  18. Just seen that Brighton are interested in signing Morgaro Gomis and Prince Buaben from Dundee Utd (both of them are out of contract in June), either of them would be good signings. Dundee Utd have got a few good players actually, Garry Kenneth would be a great signing at CB - Jaidi's successor perhaps? Paul Dixon would be a good signing at LB as well, although having 2 LBs called Dixon/Dickson could be very confusing...
  19. He's not scared to run at his marker with the ball, I love to see that in a striker. I think he'll be a key player for us next season, possibly like this: -------------LAMBERT-----BARNARD/NEW ST----- LALLANA-------------GULY---------------CHAMBO -----------------SCHNEIDERLIN------------------
  20. Were your lot in the Itchen South right down at the front Daren? Saw one of you waddling around like a penguin (he was doing a penguin impression - not a slander!) during the game and made me chuckle!
  21. He got hold of him for a few seconds though! I wasn't going to go on the pitch at first (I was sat in Row KK) but then the stewards just gave up so I made my way down there! Cracking.
  22. Loved Chaplow's little dig at Preston during his interview as well - "The gaffer has given me a great opportunity here, and luckily i'm going up while Preston are going down" BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURN! (And a lukewarm can of Strongbow never tasted better in my whole life!)
  23. Just back from the game (don't worry, i'm off out again to celebrate in a minute!) - what a f*cking great day. One of my life's ambitions to see Saints promoted and also to go on St. Mary's pitch, so it's been very fulfilling! WE ARE GOING UP!
  24. She has said that 100% of the profits made from sales of the book will go towards the 'search'.
