Any programme run by Simon Cowell, with Michael McIntyre, Amanda Holden and David Hasselhoff passing judgement on other people's talent should never exist. The fact that it's completely corrupt on top of it just makes it worse.

My cousin was also an addict, she was clean for a while and now she's relapsed and is back on drugs again. The things that she's been through are horrifying to hear about, and she's driven my Aunt half to death with worry and stress. The fact of the matter is that the drugs put her in the hands of criminals. If we took the drugs out of the hands of criminals and properly regulated them by LAW instead of by the decision of some half-baked mobster we could ensure that addiction is safer and more properly regulated than it is at the moment. If we were banning dangerous substances, alcohol and nicotine would be at the top of the pile - but because the government makes an absolute bomb out of them through tax they will never be banned. No reason to say that we can't regulate currently illegal drugs in the same way that we regulate legal drugs at the moment.

A lot of the drugs that are illegal aren't half as dangerous as Alcohol or Nicotine are. I think it's time for a bit of common sense and to see that taking the hard stance on this is NOT the right way to be going about things. Would love to be able to pop into ASDA in the next few years and pick up an eighth

Dog Soldiers - Robert Stone No, not the Neil Marshall film. Very good novel based around drug smuggling during the Vietnam war. Bit of a shame that not more of the book revolved around Vietnam itself, and the story went a bit flatter when it switched back to the US. Still, I enjoyed it very much and would recommend it. Up next: For Whom The Bell Tolls - Ernest Hemingway.

Would be a great statement of intent. Links with Nige, played for the club before, played with most of our midfield before.... it all sounds slightly too perfect... We never hear about transfers, so unless somebody is leaking information from either camp I would suggest that it's fabricated.

We won't be bullied into selling him, that's for sure. We're not in need of any cash at the moment, Alex has blended well into the first-team and become a key player for us, and he has the potential to be a fantastic player. Unless the offer is far too good to turn down, I cannot see us selling him.

Cheers mush!

I think we'll see prices go up about 15-20% this year. What were they like when we were last in the Championship?

I'm all yours baby, lube me up and call me Alastair Darling.

I have the names and addresses of everyone on this forum. I'm assassinating them alphabetically, at the moment i'm only on surnames beginning with D. You're safe for now...

Bit of a walk from there Andy - although taken into consideration. And LDS, that would be good if my car park wasn't monitored by Whites - barstewards they are!

Looks like she's been rolling around on a barber shop floor...

I've got 13 friends coming down for Saturday night (going out for a friend's birthday), and car parking at my accommodation requires a permit for each car for the princely sum of £20. Considering they'll be here for about 12 hours, it's probably not worth paying that. So, I was wondering where in the Avenue (as near to Glen Eyre Road as possible) you could park about 4 cars for free? There's a church on the Avenue that has a car park, that's the only one that I know of which is free to park, but not sure if they could park there overnight. Any ideas? Thanks!

24 cans up 3 flights. Easy. Unless you're a socialist.

I think it depends on the goals of the management. If we keep the squad that we have at the moment and bring 1 or 2 players in that aren't much better than what we have, 14th wouldn't be a bad finish. We might just be looking to consolidate this season and build a team over time that's capable of playing comfortably in the Prem - that could mean bringing in a few younger players that don't yet have the quality to be playing week-in, week-out in a top 6 club in the NPC. There's no rush to get back up to the Prem, we have to make sure that we're fully equipped to survive up there and not just become another yo-yo club.

I have the strength of a socialist.

I think the stairs might be a bit trickier with 24 cans of 7% cider in my belly... i'll give it a go though!

Having to do a 2 hour exam on Social Theory this afternoon. Lugging 24 cans of cider up 3 flights of stairs by my lonesome. Hanging my washing outside my window to dry and then it getting wet again when it started raining. Going to make some toast for breakfast and finding that all my bread was mouldy. The fact that it's still 4 weeks until Glastonbury.

Anywhere between 7th and 14th is a good season, anything above is a bonus and anything below is disappointing. It's difficult to predict at the moment though - any one of the teams in the league could improve a lot or sell a few of their key players and get weaker.
-
Looks as if Blatter might get away with this - I think the only decent thing that he could do now is step down from the election. He won't do that though, and he'll get his grubby little mitts on the Presidency for another term. F*cker.

Oh, and Carrick is pants. If he had been fit, Fletcher would have played ahead of him every time.

With Lee Clark linked to Cardiff, I think we could see a few players leaving Huddersfield before the season gets underway. Not sure how long Pilkington would hang around for in League One with some big clubs chasing him.
-
Any Huddersfield players we should bid for?

Heard we're in for Pilkington and Kay, combined fee of £2.5m. Not a very reliable source, but hey ho. -

I just use a photograph of Jeremy Clarkson. The reason for this is that i'm making a life-sized model of him (approximately 17ft3in tall) by sticking the photographs to one another, and i've run out of Pritt-Stick.
