  1. Not ruling anything out at the moment, although working at McDonalds would expose me to a slew of jokes, as my surname is Macdonald....
  2. *whereas Wouldn't rule out waiting tables either. Quick question Dune - as per the thread which was closed, what do you do for work? Same goes to you Turkish.
  3. I'm definitely not ruling out shop work, there's a fair bit of it about (although those jobs go very quickly in the summer) but I would like to try something different to see what other types of work are out there that are good for me. My aim is to earn as much money over the summer as possible, so i'll probably end up having more than one job on the go. If anyone works at/runs a bar/pub get in touch!
  4. I don't think shop work is beneath me, it's just that i've been working in shops part-time for the last 3 years and want to try something a bit different. I could get a job with longer hours but i'm concentrating on my study first, work comes second. Besides, I need lots of 'me time'
  5. I have a picture of BT celebrating after scoring against P*mpey in December 2003 hanging on my bedroom wall. Matty Oakley is clinging to BT's back like a little Lemur.
  6. This.
  7. That's fine, I just didn't know what you were talking about! What in particular were you looking for me to help you out with? Getting a ticket?
  8. The deposit was £300 (or a month's rent), the overdraft took care of that.
  9. Lets face it - he's not a good manager. He'd do a good job for a L2 team but he's got too big an ego to go down to that level again. Reckon he'll end up coaching for somewhere like Man Utd or maybe even England.
  10. There's only 9 points between 7th and 19th...it's crazily close at the moment. I don't wish relegation on any team because it can really f*ck anyone up financially, but I reckon it'll be: Wigan - Punching above their weight for a while now, they're a mid-upper Champ team imo. When you're averaging around 13k in the top-tier of English football you know you're not one of the top 20 teams in the country. West Ham - They've got some good players but for some reason they're not picking up results. That can only be down to one thing: management. With Gold & Sullivan in the boardroom they'll probably be able to keep their best players. Blackpool - Been sliding down the table ever since October, amazing how they're in the Prem in the first place. I'm all for the 'tenacious underdogs' but they are not a Prem team.
  11. I travelled back in time and castrated his great-great grandfather.
  12. I didn't even know that existed - thanks revolution saint!
  13. Got a copy of this winging my way at the moment, is the game easy to pick up? I haven't played either game before but pretty familiar with RPGs like Final Fantasy etc.
  14. Great signing if true, another one for the future. Is he available to play for the first XI straight away?
  15. £40 for working 8 hours a fortnight isn't to be sniffed at. Obviously if you're on a full-time salary working 5 days a week then £40 is peanuts, but it can cover quite a lot if you're industrious. Plus my job is p!ss easy.
  16. Made what up!? I signed for a house and put a deposit down in January, are you referring to that? I paid the deposit myself on that and my student loan is covering 90% of the rent, with my wages covering the rest.
  17. It pays for a month's food as well as a night out. And in context, I meant that by covering other people's shifts you can make a fair bit of money (for a student anyway). And what was that post about the house earlier?
  18. £5.40 an hour, not great. I work 8 hours every other week, we have around 15 members of staff because we have to fit in shifts around lectures etc as we're all students working at the shop. It's not an ideal job, but it's literally opposite from where I live and the opportunity is there often to cover shifts for people because of other commitments, so you can make a fair amount of money.
  19. I prefer Adkins. Much more likeable, more personality and we're more organised as a team now than we were under Pardew - the number of goals we've scored from set-pieces is testimony to that. I think our future is bright under NA.
  20. Sounds good, how do I apply for that?
  21. Happens at every club, regardless of the result. Unfortunately with SMS there is the problem of traffic build-up after games, and leaving 5 minutes before the final whistle means you don't get stuck in a 25min queue listening to Radio Solent after every game!
  22. You should get the EP they released before 'Funeral' in 2005. It features the original version of 'No Cars Go' (not entirely different from the Neon Bible version aside from production) as well as one of my favourite AF tracks: 'I'm Sleeping In A Submarine'. The EP is called 'Arcade Fire EP' but it's been dubbed by fans as the 'Us Kids Know' EP. Happy listening! (You've driven me to put 'Funeral' on my iPod now, damn you! I'll have to listen to the whole thing now...)
  23. I already have a job, in a student shop. However, it being a student shop it's only open during term-time. Going out looking for a job was one of the first things I did when I got to Uni, as I love working because it keeps me occupied. I will definitely be looking to get a job somewhere with the Student Union next year though, as the shop job doesn't pay well enough for me to justify keeping it on for another year.
