You're taking the p!ss but playing for a club like Chelsea, having top-class training facilities, playing at the top level alongside some of the best players on the continent and being managed by some excellent coaches is exactly the kind of thing that helps a player to fulfil their potential. I genuinely think if Lampard had come through at a club like Brentford and played at that level for his career then he wouldn't be close to the player that he is now. By the way, although his record is impressive - goals do not a good midfielder make. Don't think his all-round game is strong enough to be considered in the same category as some of the best proper central midfielders ever.

Inferno shows all the Saints games although it's a f*cking dive. Heard the Richmond is getting live football next season too, after Varsity closed just down the road.

Think he's benefitted from playing for Chelsea over the period of time though, he's been a part of some of the best teams the Premier League has seen. Playing alongside the likes of Drogba, Cole, Essien, Mata, Terry, Ballack etc can only make you look better when your team is winning games. For me he's comparable to Kevin Nolan in that he's more of an attacking midfielder than a proper box-to-boxer that people like to talk about him being. Can't fault his goalscoring record though, top class.
