Bearsy's STD trip to Ibiza 2013 - your photos
SuperMikey replied to Tokyo-Saint's topic in The Muppet Show
Bearsy PM'd me this at 10am today, looks like he was on a major comedown... -
Just watched Pacific Rim. Have to say I wasn't expecting much but it was actually pretty good. Michael Bay could take a few lessons from Del Toro I think. My only major reservation is Charlie Day. He keeps getting cast in films and I just find him intolerable! Ron Perlman needed a much bigger part too. Aside from that it's good popcorn fodder and definitely worth a watch. Switch your brain off and enjoy.

Ah, my bad. Was getting him confused with Papastathopoulos.

What, the one that plays for Champions League finalists Dortmund? Wonder why we haven't gone in for him...
-
Yeah heard it's meant to be good and cheap. Thanks for the advice!

Cheers Glasgow. Is the nightlife good? Might be tempted to take my little brother out on the lash. We're at the Michelangelo Hotel on the coast, know of it? Had mixed reviews but looks nice.

If we sign Lukaku I will literally jizz in my pants. Nuff said.

Anyone ever been to Kos? Got a holiday coming up with the family.

Snakes in a Methadone Clinic - A batch of bad Methadone causes several junkies to hallucinate that their clinic is full of deadly snakes. They try to fight their way to freedom whilst battling their personal demons. Of course, the end reveal is that they were hallucinating all along, and they're just twitching in a corridor somewhere.

Think Hooper would be a good option for us if we didn't get this big marquee striker that Cortese is after. Rickie, Jay and Hooper would be more than adequate for this season imo.
-
People who are writing off Hull - they've made one of the best signings of the season so far imo in Allan McGregor. Having a quality keeper like him in your side can quite often be the difference between safety and relegation. Hell, Jaaskelainen even got a pretty poor West Ham team a top half finish pretty much by himself!

We've still got a fair amount of British players in our first XI compared to a lot of Prem sides. Clyne Shaw Cork Lallana JayRod Lambert With the likes of Kelvin, Fox, Steven Davis, Prowsey and Punch getting decent game time as well. Don't think it's a major concern for us.
-
GK - Boruc is good as a first choice keeper, Kelvin maybe a bit wobbly as 2nd but I imagine Gazza will get on the bench more this season as Kelvin is moving towards a coaching role. RB - Clyne is an excellent option to have, although I am slightly worried about not having a "natural" RB to come in to replace him if he gets injured. Cork and Chambers both converted mids. LB - Pretty much the same as our right-back situation, but don't have confidence in Fox or Targett to step up if Shaw was out of the team for a while. CB - Think we're pretty strong at CB, Maya and Dejan as first choice looks solid with Fonte and Hooiveld to come in. Turnbull and Stephens in the mix too, but not ready yet for Prem. CM - Our strongest area of the team now, both in defensive and attacking positions. Morgan, Cork, Wanyama, Davis, Prowsey and Ramirez are a very strong group to have. AM - Probably need to look at getting a pacy winger in unless we decide to try Mayuka wide more this season (which is what I would do). Still pretty strong though. ST - Again we probably need to bring in another quality player for this position, preferably somebody youngish but with a proven record. Not easy to come by though.

I've been to Kenya, and they certainly do love their Premier League football over there. Would expect to see a fair few Saints shirts being worn on Nairobi streets.. As for other Kenyan players, there's Dennis Oliech who's the former national team captain and main striker. Pretty average goal record but quick and a good athlete. McDonald Mariga is another player I rate, holding midfielder for Inter. Struggled quite a lot with injuries over the last 3 or 4 years but a good player if he can get that sorted. Nearly signed for 3 or 4 Prem clubs before but had work permit issues.

These two were sitting near me in the Kingsland North for one of the home games towards the back of the season. Overheard "this seat is much better than last week in the Itchen". Obviously insane parking prices weren't keeping them away from the lure of Premier League football..

Yes, we should characterise all people of a certain political persuasion as "naive". Nice to have you back btw Dune.

Posted this the other day, how I see Wanyama fitting into our team: (By the way, think he'll be an excellent signing for us. The kind of player we've been crying out for at times)

I know Ciaran and Charlie (who he tweeted) and they wouldn't lie about anything about Saints.

Are we wasting time going for unrealistic transfer targets ?

We saw Shaw and Clyne playing very advanced at times last season though, so having wingers that like to cut inside can be a good way to capitalise on their ability to overlap.
