  1. Ah, I see. I'm not too sure that we need that kind of "get to the byline and cross it" type of winger, don't think they would fit into our style of play. We're quite reliant on players coming into the middle and providing more bodies around the box along with the more advanced midfielders and the striker. Our crossing game hasn't been particularly successful at this level, mostly because of the higher calibre of defender that Rickie has come up against. It's good to have options in the squad but I think Puncheon can put in a decent ball as can both of our full-backs. The priority for me is more of a goal threat from midfield. Puncheon is very effective at cutting in and having a shot but we need somebody to be scoring 10 of those a season, not one or two until their form dips.
  2. Thinking about me Turkish?
  3. I think Lallana, JayRod, Puncheon, Ramirez, Guly and Mayuka are all decent options on the wing. De Ridder will leave. You may look at it as a case of only one or two of those players being natural wingers, but I see it as having a versatile and easy to utilise squad. Agree that we should sign a quality winger though, somebody like Lens who's good at cutting inside with a goal threat and pace to burn. Like an amalgamation of Punch & Mayuka!
  4. I've said it once, i'll say it again, and i'll probably have to justify it again, but Benteke is f*cking gash. If Spurs pay £20m for him I will laugh my head off.
  5. When can we expect the figures for 2013 Q2 to be released? Sometime this month? Growth hasn't exactly been encouraging over the last 12 months, we had a very strong summer what with the Olympics and Jubilee etc but I can't help but feel that the planned "stimulus package" (in heavily inverted commas) won't help too much in the short term. Looking forward to things picking up again though - might be able to find a decent job if they do!
  6. Think Lovren is more comparable to Hooiveld than any of the others in terms of playing style and build, so I would be tempted to partner him with Yoshida for his reading of the game and being quite comfortable on the ball than the others. Fonte/Forren/Hooiveld are good options to have to rotate, I would have Fonte on the bench purely because he knows the team and is a good leader.
  7. Fair play for his dedication - but playing tennis isn't exactly a "cause" is it? Not when you've got people who work for 50 or 60 years on charitable causes, or people who explore the globe, trailblazers in arts, revolutionary scientists and thinkers... Put Andy Murray next to, say, Sir Tim Berners-Lee. That's a man who has helped to completely revolutionise global culture and the way we do things. He's improved global quality of life exponentially by giving people access to information and tools that they could have never accessed before. These are the type of people that should be awarded the highest honour, not Andy Murray because he was the least sh!t British tennis player in the last 77 years. Not to say that he's not a great sportsman - far from it. He's a decent and clean-living role model in our vacuous celebrity culture so that's great, but a knight of the realm? Leave it out.
  8. I'm tutting at you Turkish. I thought you knew better than to pick on the smaller boys.
  9. That picture makes me squirm. F*cking w*nkers.
  10. Like Bearsy said (kinda) - knighthoods are given out way too easily nowadays. I don't really think winning a sporting tournament should put you on the same level as say famous military commanders or people who have dedicated their entire lives to a cause.
  11. I think David Batty deserved a knighthood.
  12. David Cameron says Andy Murray deserves a knighthood for winning Wimbledon. F*ck off...
  13. David McGoldrick has signed a two year deal with Ipswich as well. Decent return of goals when he was on loan to them from Forest last season. They're after Cyrus Christie from Coventry too. Was quite highly rated when he broke into their first team a few years ago.
  14. Ramirez/Puncheon to compete for the slots that are currently occupied by JayRod/Lallana. Davis to compete with Schneiderlin for the more advanced centre mid role.
  15. Very sloppily done in 2 minutes on Paint, but this is how I envisage Wanyama fitting into our side.
  16. Wanyama and Cork sitting just in front of the defence like Brazil have their DM pairing, with Schneiderlin playing just ahead with more of a "free role". Rodriguez and Lallana playing slightly narrower in a more Attacking Midfield role than as Wingers. DM is his natural position, so why would we play him at CB when we already have the potential for a quality partnership in Lovren and Yoshida?
  17. I was at the Villa game, and most of the chances he "created" were due to our poor defending. Fair play to him, he exploited the gaps we left but seeing him miss all of those chances didn't exactly scream "world class" to me like Paul Lambert has been saying. Worse strikers have played in the Premier League, but I think his goal tally at the end of the season is incredibly flattering. Personally think that Weimann is twice the player he is.
  18. I agree, I think Benteke is f*cking pony. Pretty much every striker in the Premier League would be able to score the goals that he did last season. Sitters most of them. As for a dream target for a striker, i'd love us to get Lukaku. It will never happen, but I think he's got the potential to be absolutely lethal. More realistically Bony would be a great shout, very athletic if a little raw still. Seydou Doumbia is another one that I think would be great for us.
  19. Well, Neymar just went to Barca for 57m Euros.
  20. Man Utd Newcastle Pub at Norwich (didn't actually take one inside the ground!) Reading Sunderland Missed out loads of pic opportunities at other games either through being too p!ssed to take a picture or phone being out of battery!
  21. Is this going to be like Amy + Keith part 2?
