lol, you should enjoy the phase he is going through whereby he likes to spend time washing. As soon as he turns into a teenager, it turns into avoiding baths/showers at all costs! -
Lolz, I have got mine on order...

Sorry Baj, I didnt mean that not smacking your kids would mean they turn out to be little sh!ts, because regardless of if you smack or not, its the general upbringing of a child which has significant effects on how they turn out IMO. I just think that part of the reason (and it is probably a fairly small part) of why soceity has changed is due to the whole discipling of children and how certain things are now deemed wrong or unacceptable. This is why we are seeing a lot more teacher attacks and excluded children from schools. -
Fair play. Going one step more towards Mr Controversial, I think this should be extended to people caiming JSA. They should work for the handouts, even if it is simple litter collection in town centres or something. Would act as a deterent to people happy to sit back and claim JSA without trying to get a job, and would make people try harder to get jobs. Would also mean the mundane jobs which people wouldnt normally want would be taken too, as they would pay better (generally) and would (in some cases) not be as degrading as doing something like collecting litter.

I am doing sheet at the moment, think my first season will be about consolation in the CCC to mount my attack on the title next year. I have a very young squad. Been experimenting with formations though as I cannot seem to keep a clean sheet. Now playing two upfront aswell. ----------- Chopra ------ Mifsud ----------- Holmes - Sanmaetan (sp)/Yildirim - Ljungberg -----------Binya ----- Schneirerlin ---------- Insua ------------ Rapnik ------------- Cork ------------------Davis--------------------- Its finally coming together and I think I will manage about mid table this year. Signed Hernani who is to join in Jan and also some young Lazio LB which will be my first choice next year. Has very high potential too.

This is probably the most like my point of view. I was however a fair distance away and walking in another direction, had I been walking past I would have done the above though. I am all for disciplining children in the correct situations, but do not feel public is one of these correct situations. -

Fri: Night in with teh Mrs and packed for weekend away. Burnt Ricky Gervais show onto CD to listen to on way to Bath. Sat: Got up early to drive to Bath. Was meant to be driven by my Dad, but he forgot his tax and had been fined for this so didnt want to risk driving without tax. Dad paid for petrol which was bonus! Had a quick drink and bite to eat in possibly the worlds most expensive cafe (£17.50 for a bottle of beer, glass of mulled wine and 2 x chicken, bacon & mayo sarnie!). Then went onto Bath Thermae Spa, including the roof Spa pool thing which was good. Had teh secks in hotel (4* Hilton which was nice) before popping over to the pub with a few of the lads while the girls got ready. The out to the restaurant for free 3 course meal and loads of free wine. Highlight was one of the engineers being carted out by the ambulance after throwing up and passing out (see other thread). Back to hotel bar to carry on drinking. Sun: woke up early to take advantage of the huge free breakfast. Walked around Bath looking at the xmas market and saw a very funny street show involving two blokes doing acrobatics in just thongs while telling jokes/being funny right infront of a very posh tea room (The Pump House) which made it funnier seeing all these biddy's drinking tea seeing two semi naked men. Drove back to teh Mrs parents house to collect cats. While driving back, got a strong whiff of Smokey Bacon crisps, realised cat had p!ssed herself in her cat box so had to clean her up after we got her back. Vegged on FM09 for a few hours in the afternoon and got to bed for 9pm as very tired. 9/10 -

Would the thought have not crossed your mind, especially in cases like Baby P though that, in fact, the adult was being too harsh? -
Timmy Mallet FFS. Mallets Mallet, Whackaday. You are about the same age as me, you must have seen the Saturday club, with this gimp. Use to play the word game where he says a word and each person has to link their word with the previous word. ie... Timmy: Sand Contestant © 1: Castle C2: Moat C1: Water C2: Fish C1: Chips And so on, if you stutter, repeat or get a word with no association, you lose and get 'whacked' on the head with his pink mallet.

Was walking to work this am and saw a bloke slap a girl of around 11 or so round the face. Now it wasnt a propper massive lashing, but it seemed (from about 50 metres away) more than a comedy slap. I couldnt hear what was being said, but it looked like they were arguing. I slowed my walk and tried to watch without standing there gawping (sp). They appeared to carry on arguing from a distance of a couple of metres or so and I walked on. However, it did cross my mind to go over to him and have a go at him for slapping a child. This then got me thinking albeit in a paranoid kind of way. He could have been abducting her or even one of those abusive parents/step parents/child minders we have heard about in the last few weeks and if I had of gone over, i may have stopped some of this. But the little voice on the other shoulder, pointed out that it may have been a parent dealing with a very naughty child and although maybe shouldnt have done it in public, was infact issuing deserved punishment for bad behaviour. I know there is a smacking ban, but this IMO is wrong and I thoroughly believe that without disciplinging a child, you cannot properly set boundaries and the children grow up to be a little more outlandish than they maybe should be. I know there are exceptions to the rules, and a lot of people do not smack their kids and the kids turn out fine, but it is no coincidence IMO that since this 'smacking ban' and 'It's wrong to disciplin/shout at' your kids mentality has come in, the UK's soceity has slowly declined. When I was starting senior school, there was no way I would ever give lip to the year 11's, out of a mix of respect and fear, however, by the time I got to the end of senior school, the year 7's were a hell of a lot more cheeky than we ever were. Going back to the dilema, I carried on walking, but Im sure there are a few people who would have possibly walked over and said something, maybe ending up with egg on their face, or possibly helping out a situation which could have got worse?!?! What would you have done?

Norway, you will have to post it on here, as you dont have PM facility as WSS points out. TDD - If one of his 'persona' becomes a full member, Im pretty sure, the other 'persona's' will infact die out, as he will then have unlimited posts!

I have peeled around 200 mini onions in the last month for my Mum to make pickled onions to sell in her christmas crafts shop in Wickham (PM me for details if you are interested in going to see it). I made the fatal mistake the first time of not wearing gloves. I had stained yellow fingers for a week which stunk of pickled onions. I normally dont mind the smell but a weeks worth was enough to make me feel sick. Wore noce yellow marigolds the second time!
