  1. first ride on the bike since a big fall 3 weeks ago and suffering a Grade II shoulder separation. Only 8-10 miles but glad it wasn't longer as shoulder is not right yet - never knew shoulder injuries could be so painful. 3 Century rides coming up starting AUgust so hope to be ready for them - did not realize how much I missed being on the bike.
  2. If Morgan does go I hope we all wish him well. He has been a terrific servant to the club and really knuckled down last season. 25 million for a player who cost us less than 1 million is good business. Lets hope we have the replacements lined up already - if we can get 2 midfielders like CLasie and Idrissa in and still have money left over then, in theory, we will have strengthened the squad. Guess time will tell but sure Morgan will be a big success if he goes to United.

And what about the signings they have made prior to the departures? Silly season has begun......
  4. Lallana - a good signing so far? Really? Lambert - a good signing so far? Really?
  5. I thought Elia was very poor - but that should be tempered with the fact that the team as a whole looked very poor for the final 1/3 of the season. If Ron thinks hes good enough then that is more than enough for me - at least he knows the team, League, etc. which should reduce any 'bedding in' time.
  6. So, smug, smarmy Rodgers now has/looks like having: Lallana Lovren Lambert Clyne And we will have mugged them off for nearly 60 million for those 4. He's bought Danny Ings and some SOuth American for nearly 30 million (how long does it take for South Americans to settle in and adjust?). If I were a Liverhampton fan I would not be happy - and I truly hope Clyne works out as badly for them as Lambert and Lovren. I can't believe he is likely to have 4 of our team that finished 8th - and that;s their spine? Thank god we have Koeman!

Amen to that SOG. You should know by now that Batman/Dulldays/Jamie will always be contrary just for the sake of it. If CLyne plays like he did for the 2nd half of the season and for England then we have got a good deal: especially as he has 12 months left on his contract. As for Toby......would be fantastic if we could sign him but won't be the end of the world if we don't. Lets face it we sold Shaw for 30 million and got Bertrand in for a 1/3 of that fee - and most on here were slating Bertrand before he played a game for us.
  8. Until you consider they spent nearly 27 million on them originally..................
  9. what an idiot hodgson is. so basically he's saying you can be the best player in the Prem but that doesn't mean you'll start for England. What kind of demented logic is that?
  10. That all makes perfect sense and shows that he is a good guy...and good he would not leave us for Spurs. If he leaves to a Champions League club we should thank him for his service and invest the high transfer fee in new players wisely.
  11. Right now, it looks like we will fail to qualify for Europe. Our form is abysmal and we have had so many chances to finish above Spurs and Liverpool and failed to grasp those opportunities. Suddenly Swansea are 1 point behind us and I think we will be lucky to get 1 point from our remaining 2 games as we are total s***e right now. Really disappointing end to the season and shows how far away we are, realistically, from CL. Just don't ever see it happening
  12. I am more concerned about next season. Our form has fallen off a cliff and Koeman does not seem to want to try and mix it up at all. We are so easy to defend against and have no cutting edge whatsoever. If this form carries over to next season it will be a relegation battle, make no mistake.
  13. Very, very disappointed that Reed did not start today. Seems a shame that, for whatever reason, Koeman does not seem to rate him. Davis and Tadic were truly awful and not worth their place in the team. Really hope Reed plays against Spurs. He won't let anyone down
  14. moan, whinge, moan....total bunch of wet blankets! What a season, 7th or higher and likely to get European football. And yet the muppets on here still complain and ,moan like self entitled brats
  15. can't someone ban that pr***k Aziz? Certainly not funny and a total bell end.

    JWP

you really are a ray of sunshine saint charlie aren't you? We're having an incredible season, we have lads like JWP that are growing into really good players and do not appear to have huge egos and yet you're still not happy. Of course the England setup is wrong about JWP and the type of player he will become and folks in the business who say he is a real talent.....you're an amazing judge of a player, far more so than the pros in the game. I pity you, I really do and I hope you have your supply of diapers ready for the summer again.

    JWP

Just been reading the great interview in the Mail with JWP: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3025057/James-Ward-Prowse-dream-bend-like-Beckham-barrister-s-son-sets-bar-high-Southampton.html The lad comes across so well and is a credit to his family and the club. He has bags of talent and will be a great player for us. Some of the 'forum experts' on here that have been slating the lad would do well to take note of what people in the game think of JWP. Most seem to rate him so highly and unlike Shaw or Chambers he has not chosen to jump ship at the earliest opportunity. He seems to have been around forever yet is still only 20!
  18. Back in the summer I posted that I hoped the club could persuade him to give us one more year before leaving to help stabilize things. He has done just that and deserves a move to a top, top cub ( and I don't mean Liverpool or Spurs by that comment). This season has worked out beyond anyones wildest dreams and Morgan has been a big factor in our success. Of course he will go in the summer - and we should all be wishing him the best
  19. You obviously didn't go to Bucharest then. best couple of days out following Saints - and I include the FA Cup Final in that analysis (i.e. Bucharest was more fun)

    Shane Long

is it a coincidence that Saints created more chance in 1 game than perhaps for the last 6 or 7 games combined with Long in the team and the pace of Mane and Long stretching the game? I think not. Thought we looked a much better side yesterday with the pace and movement Long brought to the game

Including Cup games and sub appearances his record is: P16 W10 L5 D1

    Toby

Playing devils advocate here....... Many on here seem to think it would be a disaster if Toby left us. And true, he is a class player that hopefully we can keep hold of but................. Toby has only made 16 appearances for us this season - so, including Cup games, he has played less than half of our games. Does this mean he is injury prone? Does this mean that he is not as integral as many think he is to our success this season? Yoshida has filled in admirably when Toby has not played and, as with last season with Lovren, it does appear that any CB who plays alongside Jose looks better because they are playing alongside Jose. So while it would be disappointing if Toby does not sign permanently then it surly would not be the end of the world.
  23. Great stuff and should be fantastic for the bonding of the team. Looks like they are having a great time.
  24. At least 7th looks realistic but Stoke are on a run and only 7 points behind and they play us at home. Could be a big game. Saints have definitely got to raise their game to stay in touch with 3rd though 6th. Spurs game at home could be huge and lets hope its not a repeat of the Liverpool game
  25. If, buts, maybe.......... We have had an incredible season if it is tailing off somewhat. You could equally say we were lucky against Palace, QPR and Utd where we created pretty much nothing and scraped undeserved wins. If we can win 6 or 7 of our last 10 (long shot) then we ave a chance at Champions League
