  1. Stek is and adequate second keeper but no more than that. I have noticed that he does not move his feet much as play is happening - this is critical and why he always looks slow to react. He's having to take an extra step to get positioned.....if his feet were moving more he would not have to take that extra step (e.g. he is always on his heels instead of his toes) and be quicker coming off the line and to the ball and reacting to the ball coming in. Forster is a top class keeper and a major reason the defence was so solid last season. Can't believe some people still think Forster is poor.
  2. that is one nice bike winnersaint!
  3. Sussex 4 down now
  4. It's very disappointing to see our younger players being totally overlooked. At least Pochettino had no fear about blooding young players: Koeman does not seem to rate our younguns. Pathway to the first team looks well and truly blocked right now.
  5. oh yeah, Winnersaint........absolutely loving it and would much rather be out on it than at work for sure! Hoping to do Skyline Drive again in a couple of weeks so will be good to see how the bike performs on that!
  6. Before raising this, of course he was marvelous for us last year - however, I am starting to get a bit concerned around his tactics so far this season. Awful tactics in the Europa League, frankly bizarre selections with some of the games, culminating in playing Yoshida at RB today. prior to todays games Cedric had been in the team and we had kept 3 clean sheets. We go 1 up against Utd and then stop doing what was working and surprise, surprise we let Utd back in the game. The style of football has, on the whole, gone down significantly from last season. Obviously not advocating a change of manager but I truly hope Koeman takes a good hard long look at his own selections and tactics. I can't help but feel his decisions have cost us a number of games already.
  7. Got a new Giant Defy (Advanced 2) the other week with disc brakes - incredible for mountain descents in the wet. Then had a bike fit last week - feel like a right idiot! Was getting frustrated that despite fitness being good my speed was not getting better (especially on hills). Turns out my shoes were 2 sizes too big - new shoes and the bike fit and suddenly the bigger hills are nowhere near as challenging and starting to crank it out on the flat! DoH!
  8. Apart from the fact that Forster could be back by Xmas. What club has a number 2 GK that is quality? What GKs want to be a backup?
  9. Big difference......Morgan got upset but then knuckled down and got a dream move. He did not refuse to play in important games. Victor has been badly advised - either that or he is a complete t****r.
  10. I really wish people would stop saying 'he's not Schneiderlin'....of course hes not, he's Romeu. And its nonsense to try and compare the two. The way Romeu sprayed the ball around, nicked the ball of the toes of Norwich players and generally ran the game was mightily impressive and bodes well. We looked way better without 2 dedicated DMs and ROmeu is the class that Wanyama is not, but thinks he is
  11. All I can say.....f**k Wanyama you little scumbag. Be quite happy if we got rid of the piece of c**p - Romeu looks absolute quality and even before the sending off there was a much better shape about Saints. And we still have Clasie to come in. JWP has been excellent but Romeu MOM for me. Absolute quality
  12. Much, much better today. Still lacking a cutting edge and Davis is really not worth his place in the side. Romeu looks an absolute steal and absolute class. I think we look better without Wanyama. Now if we can just score.........
  13. Our style this season has been appalling. So far, terrible tactics from Koeman and an absolutely awful style. The Europa game was the worst I have seen a Saints side play since Branfoots time: and just as ineffective. By worst, I mean the 'style' of play (if you can call it that).
  14. Can't understand why some of you bellends are being so harsh to Martina. He's looked one of our better players and a great cross just now.
  15. Saints are looking a pale imitation of last year. But we have not lost any attacking players only defensive players - it is our lack of any cutting edge up front is the real issue....hoofing it long to Pelle is not working. Just can't understand the 5 at the back plus a defensive midfielder when we have to win. This is a very poor showing so far and I don;t think we have not tested their keeper at all.
  16. OK so far...but really dislike giving them acres of room outside the box.
  17. and refuse to sell our players? they always seem to keep their best players and Stones is a perfect example of that. Our club has no ambition and we're just looking to sell anything that isn't nailed down. We're a joke club and everyone is laughing at us.
  18. Top post!
  19. Fair play, didn't have to do that. Likewise Barkley after the game made sure he signed a ton of autographs for both Everton and Saints fans. They seem to be a grounded, and very good, team.
  20. What planet are you on? He completely changed us when he came on and suddenly Everton could not drive a bus through the middle of the park. He looks like he will be an excellent addition to the team.
  21. Wow, what a bunch of cry babies! Blame for this defeat needs to be firmly laid at the feet of Koeman today: truly awful team selection. Those slagging off Cedric and Targett: they got absolutely zero help and support from Long and tadic who were both utterly useless. Add in the terrible performance from Steve Davis and basically we only had Wanyama in midfield. The new guy looks like he will be an excellent addition and shored up our non-existent midfield in the second half. Both Mane and Pelle I thought were very good with such terrible service from our non-existent midfield and Yoshida did not have his best game. Plenty of work for Koeman to do though and a CB is an absolute must. Still very early days and still reckon we will be top 10.
  22. great article and cannot wait to see Saints in action against Everton. First time back in the UK for several years. What a great 'feel good' factor around the club there appears to be and we should really give the Europa a great shot. A couple more signings and we will have the strength in depth to compete on all fronts I think. heady times to be a Saints fan!
  23. Early, early days but yes. We look to have far more attacking threat this season than the last couple of successful seasons. Pace, movement and flair - hopefully we are in for another great season.
  24. Saint george - you've obviously been smoking too much crack down there in NOLA. That is the biggest load of rubbish I have seen posted for some time - NBC in the US are always very complimentary about us. The facts are for any club outside the top 4 that their best players will be off if the top 4 come calling. I count spurs and Liverpool in that 'cant keep hold of their players' tag too. It just happens that our players are highly sought after due to our success.
  25. Now that, Lallana, is how you say goodbye with class and dignity.
