The BVI loan and possibly others? The 100% overspend on the training ground that KL (not NC) then made good through her own money. Sure there is probably other stuff but at the end of the day I believe our owner has the clubs best interests at heart and we are in safe hands.

The piece shown on NBC Sports was obviously not the full post match interview. Was only about 90 secs to 2 minutes long and the interviewer asked him if he was surprised at the reception Lovren got which was when he started talking about yes he was surprised at the reaction to Lovren as the fans should be directing their anger at the Board after the "gaffer" left.

Think too many on here have forgotten, in their worship of Cortese, exactly whose money was being spent on the never never by our former chairman. IF we are self-sustaining and play attractive football with good cup runs then I think that is as much, realistically, we can expect. Good that KL continues to support the team and this seems to bear out what Guan mentioned at the end of last season that she has gotten the Saints bug.

The comments were on NBC Sports interview just now. Batman - still pathetically trying to be a WUM I see. And failing.

His comments are way, way off the mark and out of order. He should have kept his mouth shut and kept his opinions to himself. Surprised fans are blaming the players and not the Board - really? So we should applaud Lallana and Lovren's despicable behavior? Surprised Pochettino left and that reflects on the Board? Really, seriously? Slimy git decided in January he was leaving and tells his favorites to do the same and that is somehow the Board's fault. The Board have brought in Koeman, spent a large amount earned through sales (with more there to spend) and, based on today's performance, we could have an equally good season this year with a team that wants to play for Koeman and have not had their heads turned by 'superstars' like Gerrard on England duty. Shame on you Lambert.

Koeman promises not to use Saints as a stepping stone
washsaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I have a feeling he will be a superb manager for us. It is obvious he will say what he thinks - even if it upsets some people. PLayers will know where they stand with him and he has already made a stance re. Schneiderlin and shown real leadership. Hopefully, after 10 games, we will be solid mid-table and can grow from there. -
good that he speaks good english - seems all our overseas signings have a good grasp of English which will help with settling in
-
oh do fu** off Dulldays. Don't you have anything better to do than be a poor mans WUM?
-
Agreed...comes across as exactly the right sort of character for us after the billy big ******** who have left this summer
-
good luck to the guy - not his fault we have paid massively over the odds for him. Just the stupid, unsustainable nature of todays market.
-
As also confirmed/reported by Echo. But, also, no immediate plans to open contract talks either. Don't think RK rates Cork and he's the one that counts, not fans on this message board (rightly or wrongly).
-
so the guy who spoke to LR in the car park was probably speaking the truth. Glad we gave up on this guy: more trouble than it's worth
-
Bloody hell. Schneiderlin has a real cheek - let him rot in the reserves. Signs a new contract worth 45K per week and then claims he was told he could leave less than 12 months into said 4 year contract. What a prize c**t he has turned into.
-
Of course the resident experts know far more than Koeman and Pochettino. Seems neither, for whatever reason, rated Cork. Not sure why not but they are the ones in charge. This does give Reed the chance to move up the pecking order which is no bad thing

quelle surpris - usual suspects come out of the woodwork to sneer and tell us we are falling apart. Going for top 6-8 finish most seasons and trying to get into Europe would be a success for a club our size As someone on another thread has said, we now appear to have 2 players for pretty much every position which gives us the strength in depth we did not have last season (even if individually the players might not be like for like talent wise with what we have lost). Question for you Batman - you are very good at saying 'no' so what is your vision for how Saints should move forward? Surely you have one as you seem quick to say no to anything anyone posts remotely positive?
-
After the initial dismay at the team being dismantled earlier in the summer, I now believe we will certainly finish top 10 this year. I am thankful we have missed out on the 'marquee' signings (Rojo - shown to be a mercenary, Hernandez - what has he actually ever done?) and have gone for good, solid professionals that will do a job for us with the minimum fuss. Truly believe Gaston will be like a new signing to us this season with a manager who believes in him. We have strengthened in positions we knew needed strengthening and now appear to have good depth to the squad that was not there previously. It feels like we are going about the new 'project' in an Everton type way: not overly exciting in terms of buys but sustainable and long term planning that should bring stability to the club. Add to that with 2, maybe 3, young players such as McQueen, Reed and Gallagher looking to have breakthrough years and suddenly things look a lot brighter than earlier in the transfer window. I'm not expecting to be as right royally entertained as last season but is should certainly be interesting and we should have a good guage of how the season is likely to pan out after the first 10 games or so. Feeling a lot more confident going into the new season now.
-
Know nothing about this player but, for some reason, feel very confident he will be an outstanding player for us. Certainly feel better about this signing than Long. So that should be 7 in (at least) and 3 first team regulars and 2 not so regulars (Lambert and Chambers) out. All in all, not a bad transfer window and certainly no signs of the 'asset strip' that some of the more highly strung posters have said we were going through.

Is Irene actually Artur himself?

Top post Florida........it's quite amazing really. Baseball is awash with huge contracts yet you don't see any of the entitlement issues that football (both UK and US) and NBA have. We sure dodged a bullet with Rojo...........
-
blimey Saint Charlie - you've changed your tune! Good to see that you are more positive now and agree we have made, on the whole, solid acquisitions. But LOng would not count amongst them for me in any way, shape or form. he is a donkey pure and simple with a pathetic scoring record and very little resale value due to his age. Ings is young, unproven but like Rodriguez would have been a gamble well worth taking....anything over SHane bloody Long!
-
No chance......Taider, Reed, JWp, Wanyama all ahead of Cork for me. And that's even before Morgan....so yes he is well down the pecking order and it would seem Koeman doesn't rate him. However, based on the fact it looks like we are paying stupid money for Shane bloody Long why not give Cork another contract?
