Fox Sport reckon we are losers in the transfer window
washsaint replied to Black Sea Saint's topic in The Saints
I wouldn't tar all Americans with the same brush Wes. Yes Fox are idiots (especially their studio with Barton and Wynalda - clueless) but on the flip side NBC are absolutely superb. Way, way better than ITV and BBC and better than Sky (when I left the UK 4 years ago but can't comment now). The coverage on NBC is outstanding and they know what they are talking about - admittedly it is pretty much an English studio. Fox were a joke when they had Premiership coverage and they are an even bigger joke now. -
VFTT - say what you really think, don't sugar coat it! There are 3 or so posters who seem to think they played a part in "forcing" the Board to do various things. reminds me of Spike Milligan's "Adolf Hitler: my part in his downfall"

Oh dear Crab Lungs - your missive turned out to be a crock of s**t did it not? Or do you still think we are doomed?

The thread for people who want to say sorry to the board
washsaint replied to berkshiresaint's topic in The Saints
why was it a monumental messup OldNick? Did the players not hold all the cards? Have you not seen Bertrand, Tadic, Pelle, Forster play for Saints yet? Why cannot you admit you were monumentally wrong re. asset stripping comments, Kruger, et al? We have 2 loans - and are you not prepared to say we have stronger squad depth and that the Board lived up to their promises? -
sits back and waits for the bites.....very good Turkish All in all a good window for us and we are now stronger in depth than last season. Kruger and the Board have delivered: excellent manager (likely to be an upgrade on old one), strengthened considerably and kept MS and JR too
-
not good news if true
-
Agreed Jeff - lot of abuse aimed at the Board's direction this summer but feel we are now stronger as a club and hopefully the corporate side is picking up too. Genuinely feel excited by this season and think Koeman will be outstanding for us. Very noticeable Pochettino had no plan B against Liverpool (some things never change)
-
several loan players? 2 including the new signing and 1 we have option to buy. So long as no first teamers (Boruc apart) leave and the 2 guys sign we will have had an excellent window..... Forster looks like an outstanding acquisition and a step up from Boruc Bertrand is a more than adequate replacement for Shaw (and Targett is looking very promising) 2 new Centrebacks so we now have 4 CBs vying for 2 positions and the Belgian could be quite a coup Midfield is strong - very strong. Keeping Morgan will be the best bit of business in the window and we have 2 players for every position. Tadic actually looks like an upgrade on Lallana right now We are perhaps still a bit light up front - with only Pelle and Long as recognized strikers (with Gallagher in the wings) Factor in we now have Koeman and I am delighted - and the Board have lived up to their promise. No fire sale here to see.

Jake Sinclair - on season long loan to Hibs
washsaint replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Think we won't see him at Saints again. Believe his contract is up at the end of the season - hopefully he can forge a good career for himself. If Saints thought he was going to make it they would have given him a long term contract like Gallagher, Reed, JWp, Targett, etc -
This will have ended up being a great window for us...we will end up with far more depth in the squad than last season and replacements for the turncoats, I think, will leave us in a stronger position. To get the 2 having medicals is quite a coup. The biggest coup of the window is keeping hold of Morgan and with Rodriguez to come back this could be a very exciting game. Hopefully there will be some humble pie, and apologies, for the mass hysteria aimed at the board and Kruger earlier this summer.

how s***e does Lovren look? Starting to really wonder if Fonte did actually make him look so good after all. 4 absolute clangers so far against Spurs and his last ditchg tackles (look good on highlight reels) are because he has given the ball away/out of position.
-
care in the community I think SOG.............. For the likes of Hypo: I was not talking about us winning the League but more his refreshing candor and the way he stands for no nonsense.... Boruc, Morgan and Taider as examples
-
why is it not realistic? This is shaping up to be a very average league this year. Everton will have distractions from the Europa League, Man U are struggling and only Chelsea are a stand out team so far.
-
bloody hell.....was at both the Norwich game and Coventry game. Seems like only yesterday.......the Norwich game was incredible and a game that will forever live in the memory. If memory serves me right the COventry game was the first game of the season and we started that year on fire until Ekelund got injured (what a waste!).
-
oldskoolki - who is going to lose next week? The skates? Certainly won't be Saints................
-
From day 1, Koeman has impressed me with his forthright views and taking no nonsense. Loved his comments about "hating the long ball"! His stance with Schneiderlin and Taider has been very refreshing and the right thing to do. He also seems to have the knack of changing things up - Pochettino only had 1 way he would play and already we have seen more variety from Koeman and his subs have been very canny (like today). Whatever he says at half time seems to do the trick (at Millwall it was an awful 1st half display and superb 2nd half display). All in all he could be a great manager for us and I truly believe he will turn out to be an inspired appointment. Really think we could be in for a season ast least as good as last year.
-
lol at Hypo trying to take the moral high ground!
-
Saint Charlie - you need to get laid. So many of you are total t**ts and cry like babies at the slightest things. Plainly obvious Schneiderlin does not want to be here - probably thought he was scoring an OG. have you seen his Twitter home page? Some of you are beyond hope........ Anyone remember how poor we were at West ham last season under Pochettino? Tadic and Forster look like great signings
-
what a bunch of bedwetting, hysterical T**ts on here. boo hooo f'in hooo. Taider didn't work out. Question for the usual t***ts: would you rather we kept Taider or Morgan? Just asking like............
-
Think Pochettino is doing us a favor by refusing to sell us Townsend. If ever there was an over hyped, overrated player he is it.
-
Can't help being really uninspired by talk of the likes of Redmond and Townsend.......appear to be a big downgrade on what we have (i.e. Ramirez) and not ones to exactly set the pulse racing. very average players and very over hyped
-
bloody hell....if ever there was a game of 2 halves that was it. Shocking first half and then showed real grit, tenacity and skill to overrun Millwall second half. Pelle looked a different player and playing the ball into feet made a huge difference. Have to say that I think Cork made the real difference when he came on and deserves a starting position based on that performance.
-
wow....Koeman must have read them the riot act. Looks a totally different side now. Still wasteful in front of goal though.
-
OMG - Corks first goal for Saints? Great finish and surely he's gotta be offered a new contract? You can see his passion for Saints shining through.
-
Wow...Pelle looks so slow, clumsy and off the pace. Great effort by Tadic. Him and Forster look great buys.
