  1. Lol.......this is so funny watching the usual suspects having a breakdown! Good grief, anyone who thinks we can keep players who want to leave are nuts: players hold all the cards these days. Best we can do is to get the best price possible (which we have done with Shaw) and get good replacements in. In case anyone has forgotten in their hysteria, we had a paper thin squad last year and when we suffered injuries so did results suffer. While Luke will be impossible to replace (one of a kind) if we can get 3 players in that will strengthen the squad that will be a very good thing. Ditto with that scumbag Lallana....Luke I wish the best to, Lallana I wish the worst of luck. And Clattenburg was obviously very very right about that little twerp.
  2. While disappointed, I wish him the best of luck. Just a reminder for those that might want to slag the lad off, he could have refused to sign a pro contract and gone to Chelsea, Man U, etc for pennies a year or so ago but he did not. Will be nigh on impossible to replace: but also gives a chance to the likes of Taggert to see if they can make the step up. Man U have themselves a helluva player who will only improve...still has no right foot though.
  3. who would believe a word out of the old T****rs mouth? It's all about good ol' Harry. Still bitter he didn't get the England job

    Lukaku

After his World Cup I hope we don't go near him. Looks massively overrated - not sure where the 2 strikers we need are going to come from.
  5. Professor - I cannot believe you have posted that. I cannot believe that you think the club would pay any attention to a couple of hundred (max) posters on a forum - what about the other 100K+ Saints fans that don't post on message boards? Seriously deluded.
  6. don't forget we have a s****heap of a club according to Crabs. All falling apart - that's no doubt why a name of the calibre of Koeman signed. Been hysterical watching the overreaction of (quite) a few posters on this board. Hilarious..... Might not work out but a big sign of intent. Lot happier with the current board than with NC as the Napoleon of all around him
  7. So what do you think of our meltdown Crab Lungs? You told us it was all going to hell in a handcart. While it still might, thank god the decision makers are made of sterner stuff than many of our "want it all now" fan base. Welcome Koeman and please be a huge success!
  8. Oh no......now we truly are in meltdown. The sky is falling in,knee jerk posters were obviously right and their disgusting insults aimed at the Board and others were spot on. Or perhaps the knee jerk posters just look like jerks now? To get Koeman in could be very exciting: who knows whether it will work out or not but this is truly a name to savor unlike the days when we could look forward to Dave Jones, Sturrock, Gray et al. Hopefully some stability now and full credit to the Board: they have stuck by their guns and done what they said they would. We are so lucky to have the Liebherrs owning our club: seems like the Swiss traits of honesty and integrity will see us right.
  9. delldays/batman - you really are coming across as a bit of a plank. No-one is saying buying and selling players is wrong or won't happen....what is wrong is that stories keep appearing in the press and "final offers", etc: when it appears Liverpool have offered a derisory (in todays market) 15 million for Lallana and a raft of add ons that will never be met. Scouse gits are trying to do it on the cheap.
  10. Crabs has turned into an exceptionally bitter poster. Starting to think it is actually alpine posting on his behalf. If players don't want to be here screw them well find players who do. I predict the sun will rise tomorrow....does that make me itk? So cone on crabs back up your constant bleating with some cold hard facts. Oh you don't have any..... Sure some players will leave...just like they did at chelsea. And by your one eyed criteria re. Mancini being a failure do you class mourinho in the same bucket because of last season? No didn't think so
  11. Alpine......you truly are a bedwetter of the highest order. You (and Saint Charlie among others) were full of 'the sky is falling in' when MP left and, as per usual, petty and vindictive to staff members at the club. and now it looks like you were wrong (for the umpteenth time) you are desperately trying to make out you never said anything of the sort, etc. Honest question - why do you bother supporting Saints if it makes you so damned miserable all the time?
  12. Sure as hell hope it is not Magath.......he has ended up being despised wherever he has been and unlikely to be enough of a name to attract a high calibre of players. Don't get the link at all - although his odds have dropped considerably and now at 4-1 with the bookies. Koeman still 2-1 on with most. Sure hope bookies have it right this time!
  13. Good grief.....just read that piece and what a truly awful piece it is too. Under Cortese we were going to be pushing for a Top 4 finish soon: really, with what? KL would have had to pump in probably 100 million quid to get close to having a chance. On crowds of 32K? Just not sustainable or realistic. Still, where is Franks Cousin to provide bile at members of the Board under the pretense of stimulating a discussion. perhaps him and Ashton are one and the same?
  14. He has 4 years remaining on his contract....If bid is not high enough then he has to stay. Now starting to think Clatter burg may have had a point re Lallana......does appear to be coming across as a spoilt brat
  15. ToreSF....what just like he has at feyenoord (oh, hang on that didn't happen). Valencia was 6 years ago and they were in turmoil anyway. Just like MP being sacked by Espanyol before getting the saints job..... Koeman fills me with more confidence than David Moyes. Anyone who gets the job will have my full support
  16. FC - you made some interesting points until you started with the insults to Kruger. Basically out of order, no need for it and makes you look like a plum. Krugers credibility with you might be zero: does not mean it is with everyone. Far better to judge at Christmas when new guy has been given time and we see how things are going: rather than the knee jerk reactions going on right now. Including posters like Crab Lungs magically pulling a figure of 15 million out of the air as our transfer budget. Based solely on his opinion, yet leapt upon by the doom sayers as proof we are being stripped down.
  17. what a bunch of c**ks you lot are. Boo Hooo Hooo......manager leaves (Board could do nothing), player in twilight of his career leaves to boyhood club (4 million for a 32 year old is quite amazing) and makes clear he wants to go. Why don't you all just wait and see what happens before throwing yourselves off a cliff.......but there again, perhaps thats the best thing for you all? Bunch of pussies
  18. Just cab't see the attraction with Moyes. We were spoilt with the style of play under Adkins and Pochettino and I just don't think Moyes has that in him. His teams are defensive, hard to beat and well drilled: but creative and flair: no. I just don't think he would fit the 'SOuthampton way" whereas younger coaches like Koeman, De Boer, Yakin are probably more suited to the "Southampton Way"
  19. PMSL.......GM: your quote "Unfortunately, it is now "tending towards a breakeven point" is priceless. For many years you have said that the club should be on a sound financial footing. Why is this now unfortunate that we are being run in a sustainable manner as opposed to a way that would only end in tears? Would you run your business by throwing a ton of money at it with very little chance of return. Despite the doom and gloom merchants, I am very pleased that the club will run within its means (and there is no indication that KL will not put more money in). This is the way forward for a club like Saints: not taking an almighty gamble and betting the house on red. We've been there before and nearly went out of business. have we learnt nothing?
  20. MP had us playing the best football I have ever seen at Saints (35+ years) We did not score enough goals and MP had no Plan B: now the Prem is fully aware of his style we may well see teams developing strategies for dealing this style of play (and did at stages last season) This is an opportunity for the new Board to prove their mettle: hopefully they are up to the challenge (and it is a big challenge) MP made our players much better, no question but had a dubious record in the transfer market (Osvaldo especially) Our great youth setup was in place long before MP and hopefully will continue to churn out talent on a regular basis No one person is bigger than the club If we lose any/many players we will be in a terrific position financially and hopefully KL will back the new manager in a positive way to bring in reinforcements Club did not fall apart when Adkins was sacked or when NC left and no reason to assume it will now We need to make an appointment quickly and ensure we keep the nucleus of the team together Oh well, onwards and upwards
  21. In answer to your question DellDays training ground that went from 15 million to 30 million Signing players and taking out BVI loans (while many clubs were doing the same) But also look at Pochettino's comments about needing proper, man City style investment to get to the next level: how on earth could we do that and why should be expect KL to spunk her inheritance away to satisfy clowns on here?
  22. lol..FF, touche and put that miserable git in his place. In agreement with you: it was going to end badly with NC as he was obviously spending vast amounts that, long term, were not sustainable. I would rather have a sustainable club than get in he predicament we were in a few years ago. And most of the posters bleating are those that were saying 'not fair, Pompey cheated their way, blah, blah, blah'. Now is the time for the new look board to step up to the plate and take control of the situation. Then will be the time to judge them, not now when their hands have been tied
  23. Goodbye MP - now f**K off and get the sack at Spurs. What an absolute scumbag and how long has he been planning this? As for the bedwetters....get a life. People (players and managers) will come and go but the club will still be here long after they have gone
  24. seconded (colinjbs response).......Mclaren has done wonders at Derby in his short time there and has brought through a large number of younger players. We'll see, would still love (even if pie in the sky) for Frank de Boer to come here
  25. wigan Saint.....just when I thought nothing could top the OP, we then have the hysterical tarts Alpine and Richmond and to top it all....most pointless, pathetic retarded response goes to you! So you will stop supporting Saints because of our owners (who saved the club and our meteoric rise through the leagues). Logic (or lack thereof) there defies belief.
