  1. bloody hell....if ever there was a game of 2 halves that was it. Shocking first half and then showed real grit, tenacity and skill to overrun Millwall second half. Pelle looked a different player and playing the ball into feet made a huge difference. Have to say that I think Cork made the real difference when he came on and deserves a starting position based on that performance.
  2. wow....Koeman must have read them the riot act. Looks a totally different side now. Still wasteful in front of goal though.
  3. OMG - Corks first goal for Saints? Great finish and surely he's gotta be offered a new contract? You can see his passion for Saints shining through.
  4. Wow...Pelle looks so slow, clumsy and off the pace. Great effort by Tadic. Him and Forster look great buys.
  5. Truly hope Koeman can turn this game around (performance and result) - we're devoid of any ideas and Isgrove was the one player that had pace and was causing Millwall problems. Cannot think of anything we created through decent passing and movement that half. Truly cannot understand why we bought Long for 12 million based on (albeit the very small sample set so far) his play to date
  6. I truly cannot remember being so dispirited watching Saints play since the dark, dark days. Everything that was built through Adkins then Pochettino seems to have been thrown out of the window. Long balls to no-one, totally toothless attack and not sure what the hell the midfield is meant to be doing but Millwall have the run of 2/3 of the pitch with basically no Saints players anywhere near. Absolutely no class being displayed by anyone. Gutless, guileless and extremely concerning.
  7. Wow, Wanyama......2 monumentally bad decisions in 2 minutes. There is just nothing about Saints this half (against a weakened Millwall team). No guile, no midfield, nothing. Absolutely horrific display so far.
  8. Sure hope we get a proper striker in......Pelle looks like he couldn't hit a barn door from 5 yards out and Long is totally non-existent. looking like 20 million+ not well spent so far.
  9. One word for this (apart from s***e).........................HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF No style, no teeth up front and sadly lacking in every aspect. If they don't raise their game soon it truly will be a very long, hard season. Can't think of a single ball played into the box that has been dangerous so far. Pelle and Long look absolute garbage.
  10. Is Shane Long playing? How did we ever pay 12 million for him?
  11. Early days but based on WBA and now this game we seem to have lost all style and panache from the ga,me and, quite frankly, are now very tedious to watch. Nothing exciting about this so far.
  12. Dear oh dear, we look terrible. Midfield appears to be non existent and only ball from the back seems a hoof
  13. Disappointed to not see Reed in any of the squads so far.
  14. First organized Century ride of the summer (105 miles in Reston) with around 5.5K feet of climbing. Some great hills and mountains in the DC region (Skyline drive only just over an hour away and that is great cycling). Next stop Civil War Century in 2 weeks with 11,000 feet of climbing (or 6,600 feet depending on which GPS system is used!). So much more fun with hills than some of the boring multi-use trails round here. A tip I was taught after just starting cycling 18 months or so ago - I used to go out as hard and as fast as possible and would feel exhausted. Was then shown how to do 'heart rate training' rides and within 6 months speed had gone up, fitness had gone up and no longer die on the big hills or long rides. Bit boring to do at the time but so worth it.
  15. OldNick - so what exactly is your great idea for: 1) preventing the player sales earlier this summer 2) judging whether we are stronger (squad wise) or not at the end of the window You are extremely good at complaining but have not seen anything from you that is constructive of how the Board could have kept players, etc. And please don't say "pay them more": how on earth would a club our size pay wages of 100K per week? Of course the Board has made mistakes this summer - no-one can deny that. But at least it feels like we will have a sustainable club moving forward.
  16. That really takes the biscuit Charlie. A thread talking about the U21 game gives you the opportunity to slag off Cropper without even seeing the game. So what do you form the basis of your opinion on?
  17. what the hell you on about Charlie? How on earth can you say he is awful? Did you see any of the game? He was excellent: commanded his area, 1 great save and distribution was superb. Very few of the outfield players were any good and the defence was porous. But was Cropper useless? Absolutely not.
  18. Batman - not sure that is actually the case. West Ham, cardiff (at home), villa and others parked the bus and we struggled to break them down as they negated our pressing style and we had no plan B
  19. Blimey...what a dinosaur (if true) and will likely never get another job in football again. Damaged goods (and a crap manager to boot)
  20. Wow.....this has degenerated quickly. What a surprise. I genuinely feel for Boruc, who really didn't do anything wrong last season but now has lost his place. If Koeman does not rate him/is unimpressed then Artur is best off somewhere else as he will have zero chance regaining his place. It is very frustrating....on the one hand we slate players leaving but then are unimpressed when Boruc (perhaps with good reason) states he is unhappy with things and not being given a chance. Football is a cut throat business for sure. Irene should also be cut some slack - she is just providing information and for the usual suspects to sneer and be their usual keyboard warrior is plainly out of order.
  21. Heisenberg/Glasgow - you know Batman/Delldays/jamie is a parody and poor mans WUM. Don't rise to it. 1 more signing and I reckon we have a deeper squad than last year - really excited to see how the team does when it gels. Can't understand why people are scoffing at Isgrove (home grown, desperate to succeed) and disregarding him and saying how wonderful Townsend is. And re. Tadic - in pre-season and the Liverpool game he looked a far more dangerous player than Lallana did towards the end of the season where his ego could not get through the door. So signs are promising that he could well offer more than Lallana although time will tell.
  22. the clause people are getting their knickers in a twist about (prove it, it can't be true, etc) mirrors exactly what View From The Top has been saying for quite some time.
  23. Blimey....you lot do realize that Shaw could have not signed a pro contract with Saints and got a ton of money for signing for Chelsea/Man U whereas we would have just received a poxy "development fee". But he chose to sign that contract and so we have made a ton of money off Man U? Hopefully the lad will continue to show the immense talent he has.

  25. The BVI loan and possibly others? The 100% overspend on the training ground that KL (not NC) then made good through her own money. Sure there is probably other stuff but at the end of the day I believe our owner has the clubs best interests at heart and we are in safe hands.
