Lukaku hugs Saints fan hit in the face by football
washsaint replied to Maggie May's topic in The Saints
Fair play, didn't have to do that. Likewise Barkley after the game made sure he signed a ton of autographs for both Everton and Saints fans. They seem to be a grounded, and very good, team. -
CONFIRMED - Oriol Romeu joins on 3-Year Deal
washsaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
What planet are you on? He completely changed us when he came on and suddenly Everton could not drive a bus through the middle of the park. He looks like he will be an excellent addition to the team. -
Wow, what a bunch of cry babies! Blame for this defeat needs to be firmly laid at the feet of Koeman today: truly awful team selection. Those slagging off Cedric and Targett: they got absolutely zero help and support from Long and tadic who were both utterly useless. Add in the terrible performance from Steve Davis and basically we only had Wanyama in midfield. The new guy looks like he will be an excellent addition and shored up our non-existent midfield in the second half. Both Mane and Pelle I thought were very good with such terrible service from our non-existent midfield and Yoshida did not have his best game. Plenty of work for Koeman to do though and a CB is an absolute must. Still very early days and still reckon we will be top 10.

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 3-0 Vitesse Arnhem - Europa League R3
washsaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
great article and cannot wait to see Saints in action against Everton. First time back in the UK for several years. What a great 'feel good' factor around the club there appears to be and we should really give the Europa a great shot. A couple more signings and we will have the strength in depth to compete on all fronts I think. heady times to be a Saints fan! -
Early, early days but yes. We look to have far more attacking threat this season than the last couple of successful seasons. Pace, movement and flair - hopefully we are in for another great season.

Saints are right to follow 'showcase club' path to progress
washsaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Saint george - you've obviously been smoking too much crack down there in NOLA. That is the biggest load of rubbish I have seen posted for some time - NBC in the US are always very complimentary about us. The facts are for any club outside the top 4 that their best players will be off if the top 4 come calling. I count spurs and Liverpool in that 'cant keep hold of their players' tag too. It just happens that our players are highly sought after due to our success. -

Now that, Lallana, is how you say goodbye with class and dignity. -

Best of luck to Morgan. He has given us the extra year, performed admirably and has been a great servant for the last 7 years. -
Yet again, the usual suspects crawl out of the woodwork and cry like little babies. Board doesn't know what it is doing, everyone is laughing at us, why didn't we offer Clyne and Toby more money, blah blah blah. Why don't you all wait and see how this pans out before throwing the baby out with the bathwater? Would have thought you might have kept your powder dry after being made to look idiotic last summer but obviously not. I cannot believe some of you think Toby would have come here if we'd thrown more money at him: he obviously played us like a fiddle. Ditto with Clyne. Thank god this board is not representative of Saints fans in general. Pure spite and drivel from too many who are just coming across as petulant, spoilt brats. Do you really not think the club knows what it is doing and will have plans B and C lined up? Losing out on Rojo didn't hurt us last year.

I can't believe some of the comments on here. Like saying why mess around we should have offered what he is worth.....he was worth what we had contractually agreed. Its a bit like saying I know that house is worth 350K but we'll offer 300K and that offer gets accepted. Who in their right mind would then up their accepted offer. Anyone claiming we are in the wrong here is deluded. It is AM that are in the wrong and have been hawking him around everywhere.

Batman - you are an utter wet blanket and I did not think you could be quite as dumb as you appear to be in your posts. Now, I'm not so sure............................... How on earth can you blame the club if this transfer does not come off? You have not got a clue what has gone on behind the scenes - and you are always quick to blame the club for anything that does not meet your satisfaction. Would have thought you may have learnt your lesson from last summer and how you threw they toys out of the pram. But obviously not

Well done Poxytino and Cortese - what an absolute disgusting waste of money., If possible, I hate Pochettino even more now!

first ride on the bike since a big fall 3 weeks ago and suffering a Grade II shoulder separation. Only 8-10 miles but glad it wasn't longer as shoulder is not right yet - never knew shoulder injuries could be so painful. 3 Century rides coming up starting AUgust so hope to be ready for them - did not realize how much I missed being on the bike.

If Morgan does go I hope we all wish him well. He has been a terrific servant to the club and really knuckled down last season. 25 million for a player who cost us less than 1 million is good business. Lets hope we have the replacements lined up already - if we can get 2 midfielders like CLasie and Idrissa in and still have money left over then, in theory, we will have strengthened the squad. Guess time will tell but sure Morgan will be a big success if he goes to United. -
And what about the signings they have made prior to the departures? Silly season has begun......
-
Lallana - a good signing so far? Really? Lambert - a good signing so far? Really?
-
I thought Elia was very poor - but that should be tempered with the fact that the team as a whole looked very poor for the final 1/3 of the season. If Ron thinks hes good enough then that is more than enough for me - at least he knows the team, League, etc. which should reduce any 'bedding in' time.
-
So, smug, smarmy Rodgers now has/looks like having: Lallana Lovren Lambert Clyne And we will have mugged them off for nearly 60 million for those 4. He's bought Danny Ings and some SOuth American for nearly 30 million (how long does it take for South Americans to settle in and adjust?). If I were a Liverhampton fan I would not be happy - and I truly hope Clyne works out as badly for them as Lambert and Lovren. I can't believe he is likely to have 4 of our team that finished 8th - and that;s their spine? Thank god we have Koeman!
-
Amen to that SOG. You should know by now that Batman/Dulldays/Jamie will always be contrary just for the sake of it. If CLyne plays like he did for the 2nd half of the season and for England then we have got a good deal: especially as he has 12 months left on his contract. As for Toby......would be fantastic if we could sign him but won't be the end of the world if we don't. Lets face it we sold Shaw for 30 million and got Bertrand in for a 1/3 of that fee - and most on here were slating Bertrand before he played a game for us.
-
Until you consider they spent nearly 27 million on them originally..................

Roy Hodgson warns Clyne over attitude in response to Slovenia game
washsaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
what an idiot hodgson is. so basically he's saying you can be the best player in the Prem but that doesn't mean you'll start for England. What kind of demented logic is that? -
That all makes perfect sense and shows that he is a good guy...and good he would not leave us for Spurs. If he leaves to a Champions League club we should thank him for his service and invest the high transfer fee in new players wisely.
-
Right now, it looks like we will fail to qualify for Europe. Our form is abysmal and we have had so many chances to finish above Spurs and Liverpool and failed to grasp those opportunities. Suddenly Swansea are 1 point behind us and I think we will be lucky to get 1 point from our remaining 2 games as we are total s***e right now. Really disappointing end to the season and shows how far away we are, realistically, from CL. Just don't ever see it happening
-
I am more concerned about next season. Our form has fallen off a cliff and Koeman does not seem to want to try and mix it up at all. We are so easy to defend against and have no cutting edge whatsoever. If this form carries over to next season it will be a relegation battle, make no mistake.

Very, very disappointed that Reed did not start today. Seems a shame that, for whatever reason, Koeman does not seem to rate him. Davis and Tadic were truly awful and not worth their place in the team. Really hope Reed plays against Spurs. He won't let anyone down
