  1. Beautiful ride out in the countryside of Northern Virginia......Blue Ridge Challenge that while only 55 miles has over 4,000 feet of climbing including one section that averages over 7% for around 2.5 miles. Gorgeous day for it and almost zero traffic. Really lucky to have so many great rides near me and less than an hour away from the mountains. Worst part of the ride (or best depending on viewpoint) is a rally steep section where all you can see is the road going vertically up with no bends, no anything just straight up into the sky! For anyone that hasn't done it - I really recommend a proper bike fit. Had one done when I bought my new bike last Fall (Autumn) and it has made a world of difference - particularly to my climbing. Smashing PBs by the minutes in the mountains - the bike fit and a hard winter on the turbo trainer have made a huge difference. Really aiming to do Mount Evans in Colorado this summer - the highest paved road in the US.
  2. clasie has been awful so far. Newcastle are there for a real beating if we can find our finishing - which has been our achilles heel forever.
  3. Amen to that........why are so many of the few left on here so keen to write off our young players (Targett, JWP, etc) and almost take delight in saying they won't make it? Absolutely pathetic
  4. Garbage - absolute garbage. Our season is over so at least try some of our younger players to see if they have a future here. They sure can't do worse than the likes of Pelle, Tadic and co
  5. Wow, what an absolutely awful performance - particularly after such a bad showing midweek. Koeman should be heavily questioned too - tinkers all the time, leaves the heap of s**t that is Pelle on, no matter how bad he plays and has nus playing negative, dour football with zero cutting edge. Absolute s***e
  6. Saints are so slow and ponderous with zero cutting edge. We are a very poor side to watch these days and that run we went on disguised our many shortcomings
  7. sunderland have a good break all because of the immobile statue that is Pelle. Awful
  8. Fonte has not been great this season but Koeman's tactics are all wrong for this game
  9. Weather here in Virginia today was incredible - 60 degrees and no sign of snow! Fantastic to get outdoors after being stuck on the Turbo Trainer for a few weeks. I had never used a turbo trainer before this year and the plans from Strava (and videos) have been fantastic. Can definitely feel the difference it has made to my fitness and looking forward to getting outdoors more. First 2 centuries signed up for - a nice flat one in maryland (Chesapeake) first week of May and then Delaware Gran Fondo (hilly) 2 weeks later. Really looking forward to this season - my daughters soccer team has qualified for Nationals in Denver in July - trying to sweet talk my wife in letting me take the bike out there and do Mount Evans.
  10. Excellent win - have to say that our style has disappeared. We are a boring side to watch - but 6 clean sheets in a row can't be argued against. Where would we be in the table if Forster had been fit all season? Listening to him on NBC he was immense the way he organized the back line. Romeu will be some player for us as will Clasie. JWP was excellent today, Virgil was a steal and is at least as good as Toby (how many headers does Virgil lose, if any?). Hopefully we can really push on for a top 5 finish which would be astonishing after our long, terrible run.
  11. wtf koeman? Romeu has been our best player!
  12. My god.......Pelle is awful
  13. JWP, Romeu, Clasie, Van Dijk have all been good. Rest, not so.....difficult game with very little space and a congested midfield and little creativity. Crying out for Mane up top with Long........the only times we have looked dangerous have been when Long has used his pace. Cedric for Davis and Mane for Pelle at HT would be good.
  14. Pelle doing a good impression of a stone statue so far.
  15. A few weeks back (understandably based on the appalling run we were on and I was among the doubters) a lot of people were questioning our buys and whether our 'black box' approach was broken and whether it was all down to Mitchell before he left. Think it is safe to say it is far from broken. Our summer buys all have something: Cedric - for me, he is now better than CLyne was in his last season for us and certainly better than the Liverpool CLyne. And for a 1/3 of the price Virgil - absolute class and love to see him marauding forward like an elegant midfielder. His heading ability is astonishing CLasie - now showing why Koeman wanted him so bad. His performance today was immense and looks a steal at 8 million Romeu - looking absolute class and for me, offers far more than Wanyama. Absolute steal at 5 million Austin - 4 million? Really - absolute bargain and am sure other clubs are kicking themselves for not getting him at that price Martina - has not let anyone down when he has played and no risk for 1 million Juanmi - bought for the future and jury still out Hopefully we can have a stable summer and give it a real go next season Bravo Les Reed and co
  16. straight red all day long...........awful challenge and once again down to an original touch of an elephant by Wanyama
  17. Pelle has been very, very poor so far. Perhaps understandable due to lack of games recently but he has been terrible
  18. RIP Malc - will always remember when he was wheeled out in front of the crowd and looked so embarrassed!
  19. wow....yet another headscratcher from Koeman. And no sign of Reed on the bench despite how well he played for the U21s. What a negative, defensive uninspiring lineup (yet again) with virtually no creativity.
  20. Can call it right now. Koeman will play a defensive, negative team with no width, no pace and no nouse. We'll play well for 30 minutes until they run out of steam and ideas (fitness levels appear to be awful) and then we'll lose to a stupid defensive mistake started by Davis giving the ball away needlessly. Happens every game and Koeman appears to be showing he is tactically poor, very defensive and has certain favorites that are untouchable.
  21. Glad I did not waste my time watching that. The result was nailed on before the game even kicked off. Koeman is terrible - awful team selection and so negative. Really wonder whether time has come for a change. His tactics are awful, same names on the team sheet week in week out and not changing things up.
  22. bravo Koeman- another negative, uninspired team selection. Really wonder if he has lost the plot.
  23. I would not trust Koeman with any more money this season to buy Dutch players who are no better than what we already have at the club. He should look at his coaching......unfortunately MoPo was by far a better coach than Koeman and had no hesitation in playing younger players. Koemans brand of football is boring, negative and taking us backwards
  24. Verbal - my concern is that Koeman is having too much say in who we buy. Right now I would not trust him with any money: his tactics are awful, he never changes things up in time and is adverse to giving the young (JWP aside) players a chance to shine. For me Reed did more in his time on the pitch yesterday than Wanyama has done all season (Arsenal game aside). Unless he gives the likes of Seager some time on the pitch he'll never know whether he is good enough for the Prem. Its not like we have any clinical finishers on the team right now.....yesterday it opened up nicely for Tadic to have a shot and he bottled it and tried a pass (that failed). Yet Koemans "players" such as Tadic will almost be guaranteed a start.
  25. What on earth is going on with Saints? They look slow, can't finish and too many players will play no matter how bad their form has been (Tadic, Wanyama spring to mind) and none of our hungrier, more dynamic younger players get a look in. Reed showed, in the few minutes he was on, that he will do more for Saints than that c**t Wanyama. Koeman has been shown up this season - he seems clueless and does not change things when the game is crying out for a change. Why persist with Ramirez if he has no future here - and expect him to change things in the 5 minutes he is on? Sleepwalking to a relegation battle - and I think the only thing that will save us is that there are some terrible teams this season - even worse than our team.
