Saints make 8 million bid for Athletico's Adrian Lopez

We didn't beat Liverpool or Spurs to the signing of Ramirez. Liverpool's interest stopped when clueless Kenny left and Spurs refused his wage demands. -
After 8 games, what are your thoughts...

2 wins in 8 is disappointing imo. -
Wouldn't have to be so negative if we didn't bottle it when we played Wigan away.....
-
Really wouldn't be surprised if Wigan stay up and send us down.
-
Had a feeling Wigan would win today. C'mon Newcastle.
-
Ramirez supposedly threw his toys out of the pram to get a move from Bologna to Saints, what makes you think he won't do the same if we go down to force a move? No club will offer us £10m if we go down. By the way, when I said a club like us I meant a club fighting relegation. You'd expect your big money signings to be a big success. I bet our transfer committee regret not going for Michu now.
-
Not really imo, when a club like us spend £12m on a player you'd expect them to be a key part to our season. Has he been a key part to our season? No. It's a shame that performances against Villa, Newcastle and Arsenal at home don't come often enough. Sadly away from home, 90% of the time it's like we're playing with 10 men when he's playing. And let's not mention his **** poor fitness. I remember around the time of him signing, there were a few Italian football journalists who had doubts about him adapting well to the English game, so far they've been correct. If we go down, we will struggle to get £6m for him.
-
I'd happily see him go for £8m. The man is so overrated and struggles to get past the 60th minute. His bad games outweigh his good games. If he someone like QPR or Reading had signed him for £12m, loads of people on here would be calling him a flop and a waste of money. Safe to say Cortese got mugged by the Bologna chairman.

The 27k one was cheap tickets. Kids £5, adults £10. We got a similar attendance vs Forest while Lowe was still here due to similar priced tickets.
-
All these protests lose credibility when the fans who are protesting about prices still pay the prices for the ticket.

Nigel Adkins to take Southampton to tribunal

Probably after our relegation is confirmed at the end of the season. -
MLG probably just exploded in his pants.
-
Because their Premier League fans have come running back. That end behind the goal is now a 50/50 split between home and away fans. Suspect it will go back to being 4,000 if we're both in the Championship next season.
-
Just over 2, 000.
-
They may have overspent on their squad but so have we.

After today's set of results, you kind of get the feeling that we've started QPR's great escape. -

Guly was slated by some on here for his miss vs Stoke, according to the Guly haters it cost us the win so did Lallana's terrible miss today cost us the win? Awful miss from him but not surprising. He has always been overrated here and I didn't even notice him on the pitch until that miss. And how poor are Ramirez's corners? Can we ensure that he is never on corner duty again? Another unspectacular performance from our £12 million man. It isn't a good point, regardless of what happened at the end. Norwich were poor and were there for the taking but we didn't take advantage. Liverpool and Chelsea up next at home.... -
But I've seen several Skates say that the BVI loan is around £35m plus high interest rates, surely they can't be wrong?
-
Nay.
-
#1 - Billy Sharp, helped get us over the line last season, got two goals against the Skates. Gutted that he couldn't be an option from the bench this season but will always be thankful for his contributions to our promotion. #2 - Nathaniel Clyne, looked poor at the start but formed a good partnership down the right hand side with Puncheon. Will only get better. #3 - Maya Yoshida, looked like a panic buy at first but has been fantastic at times this season. Still prone to the odd mistake though. #4 - Arthu Boruc, best keeper at the club but written off by most (including myself) after the Spurs game. We'd probably be about 4 points better off if we had stuck with him. #5 - Steven Davis, been a good signing for £500,000. Experienced and has put in some good performances lately. Unlucky to get dropped, will hopefully be back in the side vs Norwich. #6 - Jay Rodriguez, looked great since the turn of the year but before that seemed out of his depth. Never going to get to play in his preferred position while Lambert is fit and rightfully so. #7 - Gaston Ramirez, doesn't look a £12m player and I think Cortese got well and truly done by the Bologna president. His fitness seems a massive issue, rarely does he finish games that he starts. He's been a massive disappointment so far. #8 - Paulo Gazzaniga, still young but if we go down then I think we will remember his mistakes this season a little more clearly. Would liked to see him loaned out next season, to help his development. #9 - Tadanari Lee, good work rate and did look OK last season up until injury. Great assist for Lambert's goal vs Leed and a screamer vs Derby. Had a feeling he wouldn't feature this season. Not seen enough for Forren and Mayuka to make a judgement, but wish the money we spent on them went towards a monster of a CB.
-
No surprises there, he's injury prone.

As a dog lover I knew I shouldn't have watched that video (especially the 2nd one on the petition site, where you can actually hear the dogs yelping in pain). Very sad viewing.
