On first read, I thought it was the classic 'FU' gesture which involves slamming the one fist into the other elbow and springing up the finger from the opposite hand. This takes a bit more premeditation. Like others, I've never heard or seen of it before. I do confess, I have no idea what Hitler's stance on Islam was. Anyone know? It could be argued that fascism and extreme Islam are similar? I'm sure it's been cooked over on this board, but probably in intelektual stuff as well.

Well, if our current form continues into the 'easier' fixtures after Chelsea, then I'd agree, however if we get some wins against the 'minnows', I'm sure we'll gain points on them!

I think we are in a realistic position. Much as I enjoyed us beating Liverpool, they didn't have Dawg Suarez, and he's been their absolute key player. Other than that, we've had a couple of unexpectdly good results and some unexpectedly bad. I am quite relieved that the Saints love in has been quietly brushed under the carpet, but do think we can get higher than we are now if we have a full first team against our immediate competition (WBA, Stoke, Hull etc). So, 7th?

While we dance around the galley kitchen at work, making coffee, toast etc I often (used) to say 'this is just like that Morecambe and Wise sketch'. I gave up when nobody knew what I was talking about. But it still makes me laugh whenever I see it!

He is an absolute class link player, as per Cardiff. I do hope, however, he isn't undergoing personal stress of some sort as he does look a bit less up than he has done. At the end of the season, if still performing and likely for an England place, I think NC should just tick his money up a bit so that the difference between what he might be offered and what he is getting doesn't dwarf the benefits he has in being a big fish, locality etc. Then if he wants a humongo deal in Summer of 2015, having scored or set up the winner for England, fair enough.

Can you imagine someone slipping a ready meal chicken carbonara (with unannounced ham bits) through to a hibab women and then proudly announcing '1%'PORK! Or a christmas pudding - ha!ha! got you!! Brandy in there!!! Really it means the poor woman has to read, and understand codes, enumbers etc, every ingredient of every item she (or he) is scanning. Really impractical.

After a brief burst of rationalism from Saint86 (born in 86? (maybe saw us get to the final in 2003?) or first supporting in 86?), this thread has gone back to normal. As a stream viewer (sorry dp), my view of the game wasn't that great. However, even I can see the defensive (nb with an 's'in adjectival form only) deficiencies in the 2nd string back four, as S86, and indeed Bruce Hornsby, said, that's just the way it is. Personally, I did see Gaston put effort in (wahey!), but he was so easily shoved up the ball many times. I was so pleased when we scored! We've just got to suck it up with the second team. Maybe we just bite the bullet of mid/lower table and strengthen effectively in Summer, rather than panic buy/integrate in Jan.
