  1. i get the point you're trying to make, but it's equally valid to make a case for some experienced and proven pros in key positions which currently are massive problems for us. I'd also add that the players you are quoting - Sterling / Stones etc went into starting elevens much better than ours is currently. Out of interest, do you know of any 20 yr old keepers who have excelled from the off? Genuine question, not a challenge...
  2. You have quoted some of the finest players in the world there 🤣 It's what is called confirmation bias - you quote the success stories but ignore all the failures. As far "countless others" hmmm Don't necessarily disagree the lad won't do well and I hope he does. We need a mix of youth and level headed experience. Let's see what the summer brings.
  3. Well, you know it's a risk 🙂 I guess we'll see what happens once the window opens. Be interesting to see what is done to try and halt the 60++ goals we are conceding every season
  4. We also saw a fair few youngsters start brightly and fade away. I think we can all agree a mixture of youth and experience would be ideal. I'm just particularly nervous about GK and CB positions which are in obvious need of strengthening
  5. Experience matters because it helps with mindset and character. How to handle bad times, how to handle having played a bad game, knowing how to handle pressure of a big game, knowing what to do in certain situations. Anyway, I think I've flogged this one to death. Good luck to the lad if he is incoming.
  6. So if you had to undergo surgery, would you like the young promising surgeon or the experienced surgeon who has performed the op successfully many times? 🙂 Extreme example, I know but it gets over the point that all humans learn from experience and experience very much matters in how you perform something. This guy is still learning his trade and if he we had a decent number one already, it would be great, but we don't.
  7. Are you serious? The reason managers pick experienced players is because it's "a nice to have". Please. The best teams probably have a mixture of both experience and youth, but I'd always take an experienced player over an unexperienced one in key positions. This signing really wouldn't be that bad if we weren't conceding goals for fun each and every season with a no 1 who is questionable at best. If Shilts was still in nets, I'd be all for it. Hoping for some *experienced* CBs to come in at the very least now.
  8. I see your logic but i guess they could argue he performed at a level they wanted and paid for at the time and the reason for getting rid is they now want a player at the next level up. Therefore they want want they paid for him. Whereas we were certainly in no position to make that argument in Carillo's case
  9. Signing a guy who has made zero PL appearances and 70 odd in L1 when our so called number one regularly goes for 60 goals odd every season is pretty pathetic yes Comparing him with Livramento is just wrong. There were other players more than capable of filling his position - not the case for GK. Plus look what happened to Livramento when Ralph bizarrely persisted on playing him every game.
  10. Because he isn't shit
  11. Sure hope news on GKs and defenders incoming improves soon. For a team that conceded 4th highest amount of goals in the league last season and consistently ships goals over the past 3 or 4 seasons we do appear to be fiddling while Rome burns. We concede goals for fun as it stands but "I know...there's a really good young keeper...he is one for the future" Hoping we'll hear some better news soon.
  12. 🙂 it goes along with them being the best club in the world with the best fans in the world and the best manager in the world right? and fits their new club motto "we are liverpool this means more"
  13. Did you knock one out after you posted this gem?
  14. don't start all this shit again. Bore off.
  15. Nothing wrong with that, I enjoy coming on this forum to read random musings.
  16. Yes he is the perfect signing for Ralph's sideways and backwards passing masterclass
  17. I support Saints and anyone who is playing the scousers
  18. Tino was good up until his injury, although it was bizarre how Ralph had no regard for protecting him at his age which resulted in the injury Broja - very good first half of the season KWP - a hit Salisu - good but then form dropped Perraud - acceptable Small - can't make any judgement The rest either average at best or bottom 5 fodder
  19. I didn't see that - is that really the case? You would think if the scale of change is going to be that big, things need to happen soon!
  20. Just a thought on this - I wonder if the coaching staff, including the players and Ralph knew about this, first finding out around about the Villa game. Just conjecture but people talk etc and this may explain the abject form from then on - ie uncertainty amongst players and coaches.
  21. which is why he should have been sacked by now and the new manager already in place. However, i recognise its pointless arguing about it. If this is the reality, I hope it's the right decision, we can get some good players in and move on. There will be no more excuses for Ralph though after this.
  22. Don't see how you can say this really. Ralph is the boss with ultimate responsibility. His coaching staff aren't the ones who make him deploy the wooden and sometimes bizarre tactics he does. They aren't the ones who force him not to make substitutes when its plain even to the average fan that one is needed. He appears to be teflon. No other prem club would have kept him.
  23. I hope you're correct in what you say, I really do. If they do have plans in place, I'd expect these "new players coming in" to arrive sooner rather than later. As for "bedwetters" - you did witness the shambles of the last half of the season yes?
  24. Stop conceding so many goals is the first thing to address surely? You know the old addage...if you don't concede...
