I really think Broja will be a cracking player. Still young, still learning. Would love him here on a FTC
-
We've been through this before - it's because they come from a club where it means more
-
do you mean the one who professes he can "see things others can't see"? I mean, to be fair how are you supposed to compete against that? ๐
-
Can't see why the lad would want to comer here to play cover when he would be a starter for Fulham or Forest for example. FB does seem about the only position that actually doesn't need substantial investment.

Couldn't agree more. I find it bizarre, like you're being discriminating by pointing out it's women's football or women's cricket. Football is for every human who wants to play it regardless of sex, age, race, ability etc. I'm absolutely all for that. It's just that I am not interested in following women's football and it is annoying to almost feel tricked into clicking on these links

Agreed, with the other 50% being Scousers FC
-
Excellent - thanks for this - genuinely helped. Probably helps to explain why we did well for a few years after promotion too

One thing I can't work out is our lack of financial clout, given we have been in the prem pretty much solid apart from a few years of exile. Perhaps it's because the prem isn't the promised land as everyone tells us and the promised land is actually just finding a mega rich owner

Attracted you as a fan for one
-
All seems a bit bizarre this one really. He's 25, plodding along in some third rate league. We pick him up and likely instantly loan him. Not criticising as such...just my limited brain can't really follow the logic of this

JWP & his annual time to "kick on"
Golac's Cunning Stunts replied to Saint Charlie's topic in The Saints
yep and all the scouse influenced media would be fawning over him. Also he warms the bench for 2 seasons and remarkably his transfer value actually increases because he has been a part of the best team in the world (to quote michael owen) -

Yes there would always be an element of chasing the cash (and why not), but he might be tempted to go to a club that is clearly demonstrating an ambition to achieve success - get into Europe, win a cup etc. Saints are pretty much set on a course of "staying in the prem is success". He probably deserves better than that, -

He is not the same player as Eriksen at all. Also not in his league by a long margin -
Yeah I agree. Plus it's a cunning plan - once we get him in place, we can then get all those city youngsters who see him as a father figure. He comes then all their talented youth follow ๐

Yes. Will be a great buy for them, good for the english quota as well
-
That may be, but the article perfectly summarises our precarious position and lays out plenty of (obvious) causes for alarm, all of which have been raised on the forum many times. "Saints โmust improve in a number of areas, including passing, creating chances and defending.โ With so much room for improvement, itโs not a summer where dawdling can be forgiven. Inaction would be a huge failure, particularly with other clubs โLeeds for one โ making promising strides so early in the transfer window."

but surely the money they have used to buy crappy turkish clubs etc would be better off buying us some shit hot players

I realise this thread is for last year, but did anybody just see Bairstow's knock in the test. That got me reaching for a beer!

๐ is this one of those things that MLG guy puts together?
-
It's just sickening isn't it. I saw another guy on the comments this morning moaning about City and Haaland. He basically ws saying if it wasn't for the Scousers, there would be no competition in the PL and he really couldn't understand why fans of all the other clubs weren't fully behind Liverpool. They really are a special lot

I dunno, part of me enjoyed the Fizzy pop and L1 days when we could actually compete and expect to win a few games. If staying in the prem means this dreary slog to get to 40 points every season then maybe we're better off out of it. Just a thought
-
You do realise you are going to trigger the Le God guy by saying things like that ๐
-
Perfect for our team - sign him up
-
Needs to beef up that sleeve a bit I think

Nice to dream, but we are currently a million miles from that
