  1. That can't be right. That must have been from the first 5/10 minutes or something. Saints corner. I wonder if it'll beat the first man?.... Yes it did but surprise surprise, no danger.
  2. Yet another bad corner from Lallana. Can we PLEASE have a new corner taker??
  3. Solent need to sort out their microphones. Whenever the Stockport fans make some noise I can't hear a thing the commentators are saying. That's pretty pathetic considering there are only 5000odd fans there.
  4. Aparently our midfield is looking good. James and Hammond playing well. Saints deflected shot, keeper saved.
  5. Another poor decision from the ref, Saga was through on goal, got taken down, free kick to Stockport.
  6. Mellis fouled in the box. Commentators can't believe it's not a Saints penalty.
  7. Hammond makes a great run from midfield, earns a corner. Another woeful delivery from Lallana, wasted.
  8. Saints had a chance to break, we had 3 on 2. Saga takes a tumble instead of passing it. Surprised?
  9. Stockport corner. No Saints defender attacked the ball. It goes out for another corner. And another.
  10. James makes a very strong challenge in the middle. Our resulting shot is weak. Apparently their man Baker is being given the freedom of the pitch at the moment, according to Solent. Wayne Thomas' shot well wide.
  11. I'd tend to agree with you, but Lambert and Hammond were convinced to join us and both could have played at a higher level. Hopefully we'll bring in at least 2 more permanent signings, up front and central defence being the most needy, but I think that's the bare minimum. Ideally we'd get 4 or 5.
  12. And this is the sort of logic which will ensure diving remains a part of football for ever more. Also, it's one Uefa have been holding for way too long. If we keep the liberal view of "oh everyone does it, let's not be mean and just punish one person" then it'll never stop. We need to start singling out players, we need to make an example of them. If he doesn't like it, he should stop cheating. I fail to see the relevance here. How does it matter if a countries players don't have a reputation for diving? If one of their players dives, he should be punished, simple. Oh and Eduardo is Croatian.
  13. Magic, we took 3 wickets before close of play to leave Somerset on 98/3. Tahir with all three wickets. Good to see Langer came and went without scoring. If we can get Trescothick out early tomorrow we'll be in a great position.
  14. Yeah I should have just done that shouldn't I. Yep you can pay on the turnstiles tomorrow.
  15. I know there's a forum for this, but it's dead, sorry. I just rang the TO to see if any tickets are left for Stockport and the girl said they've come off sale but there will be plenty for sale up at Stockport. I questioned the fact that on the OS it said the match was "all ticket" and she said "Yeah all that means is you need to buy a ticket"... Riiiight... I doubled checked and asked that I'll definately be able to buy a ticket up at the stadium tomorrow and she said "Yeah should do" but that didn't fill me with confidence. Has anyone else been told the same info and is anyone else travelling up without a ticket?
  16. Awesome. That makes a mockery of the "if you don't sit down the stadium will collapse" policy at St Mary's
  17. Indeed. It's painful watching a full 90 minutes of Premier League football nowadays. There aren't 2 minutes which pass throughout the whole game where a freekick isn't awarded for a player gonig down too easily. It's so frustrating. The commentators (especially that tit Andy Gray) don't help much either, supporting the decisions and demanding yellow and red cards for absolute nothing 'challenges'.
  18. This is the concern. I hope that Uefa aren't just acting on this case because there was a lot of media pressure surrounding it. All leagues and all players who dive no matter if it's on TV or not need to be punished for diving. Saga does it from time to time, if found guilty, ban him. I wouldn't complain.
  19. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/8223917.stm Good. It's about time Uefa started to act on incidents like this. They've sat on the fence way too long over players diving and cheating the ref, it's good to see they're finally starting to take action. How it has taken them this long to do something though I will never know. It's not hard to look back over each game and punish players who have clearly dived and conned the ref. That's the only way diving (and playacting for that matter) will be eradicated from football. Arsene Wenger has disappointed me in his verdict, saying the decision is a "complete disgrace". Actually Arsene, the complete disgrace is that managers defend their players for diving. Managers are just as much to blame as the players are imo. If I managed a team at any level and saw one of my players diving all over the shop, I'd be embarrassed to have them in my team. I do worry though that this will be just a one off incident to make it 'look' like Uefa are doing something.
  20. In the Echo today Pardew is quoted as saying Murty is feeling a lot better and the knee isn't in as much pain as before, so there could be some good news coming depending on the results of the radiologist.
  21. I can't see anyone writing him off, unless I've missed it. I can see people commenting on his not particuarly impressive goal record but that's all we have to go by at the moment. Can't see anyone being negative though. I'd support this signing if it happens.
  22. I missed this. Have you got a link?
  23. Thanks for the goals Rasiak - some great ones in there too. I'll never forget that goal against Derby away in the 2nd leg. I have never celebrated a Saints goal so hard. Happy happy memories. It's a shame he didn't want to play in League 1 because he would have been leathal, but if he has ambitions to play for Poland in the World Cup then you can understand his desire to move. He really has been treated poorly by us to be fair. Dropping him half way through a season in which he was scoring bag fulls, then loaning him out to cut costs must have been frustrating but he never whinged or moaned, so can't really understand the bitter responses from some of our fans. Good luck to him.
  24. I need to get one of these things - ideally 16gb or something like that. Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy one? I've had a quick look on eBay, it looks like I'd be able to get a 16gb one for about £12, is that good? I've no idea, I've never had one. Amazon seems more expensive, around £20. Thanks.
