  1. Got my tickets an hour ago, small queue down there. Apparently the Itchen is now almost full, which should mean a pretty decent attendance if the Northam is also full.
  2. His finishing is fantastic at the moment. His first goal was better than I realised at the time after watching the replay on tv. He calmly flicked it over the keeper when most players would have smashed it.
  3. Totally agree. He's got very quick feet. I think he'll be good for us.
  4. Well I'm glad I made you smile But I think your post is harsh on Wotton. I've always thought that he'd be a good player if only he had the legs. Edit: Although saying that, against Swindon he was dreadful and obviously didn't have his brain in gear that evening.
  5. Saw the highlights on SSN. They only showed it once but it's clear that it was an OG, but obviously only clear if you saw it at the time because the tv are still giving it to Papa!
  6. Yes. We will forever be in Liebherr's. Sorry.
  7. I like Papa and think he did well today, but he still hasn't scored yet! Today's was a clear own goal, wait until you see the tv replays. But to be fair to him he had to get into that position and if the defender hadn't made the challenge Waigo would have had a shot on goal, so not taking anything away from Papa. He started a little slowly today but improved greatly as the game went on. He can't cross, but that's okay because I'm not convinced he's a winger anyway, so the sooner we play him upfront the better. Although saying that, in the second half he did beat his man a few times and got into the box, almost setting up a goal on one occasion. He'll be good for us there's not doubt about that - and what a moronic thread title by the way.
  8. Good performance today, not perfect by any means, but good all the same. Thought Lambert did particuarly well. He takes the ball out of the air very well and the finish for his goal was great. Papa Waigo started a little iffy but improved as the game went on, shame that his goal was an own goal but that didn't seem to bother him and he claimed it never the less! That's two he's claimed which weren't his - I wonder what his celebration:goal ratio will be at the end of the season? Who cares, he had a pretty good game today. Lloyd James can take corners. Why didn't he say so before?! Wotton and Hammond did well in the midfield, I thought we'd miss Schneederlee today but his absence wasn't notable, and the defence was good today. Trotman is getting better by the game. Oh and one final mention to Harding who is a consistently good performer.
  9. He actually did well today. I'm not his biggest fan but today he played well. If he was quicker and more agile he'd be very useful to us because I think he's got a good football brain. Lambert and Lallana were class. Hammond good, James good, defence in general good. Yeah, pretty good!
  10. Who knows? Some people just love cyber wars. They're 'ard.
  11. That fella at the back of which you speak (think he was a friend of Callagan/Callaway/Callasomething from SISA) did indeed contradict himself and Pardew corrected him, but I don't think anyone else asked any particuarly stupid questions. There was no animosity at all between Pardew and the fans, and nobody "owned" anyone else. There was a nice atmosphere tonight and Pardew, Davis and Cortese were genuinely appreciative of the fans who attended.
  12. Is this thread a wind up?
  13. Agree with what you say apart from the first sentence. It's all relative. I play with a centre back in my sunday league team who wins every header, but no Premiership clubs have been knocking on his door yet.
  14. I agree with most on this thread in saying that he put in a good shift against Yeovil. He actually looked like he cared yesterday and was making some decent runs and closing the ball down. Once he gets some service he'll score goals, we all know that.
  15. Agree, very Beattie-esque. Great pens.
  16. I don't think they're moaning about it, just being honest about what they saw.
  17. True. Although you could say that about every Saints player at the moment Our passing in the final third today did leave a little to be desired. Lallana, Saga and James especially.
  18. There's stats on headers won vs headers lost on each player? Where? He won more than he lost, by a long way.
  19. That's odd because from where I was the first one looked definate but the second looked iffy. The ball from Lambert to James certainly took some sort of deflection, but nobody around us saw it hit the arm - James didn't appeal either. If neither of them were pens then I guess we've finally had a little bit of luck swing our way for once.
  20. Won (almost) everything today, along with Trotman. You've got to say Pardew has totally sorted our defence. We won every header at the back. I can't remember the last time that happened. No signs of a lack of fitness from Jaidi either. I thought he hadn't played much football recently? Played well for the full 90 minutes. Seems to be a great signing.
  21. I agree with most of your points apart from the above. Morgan was very unfortunate to be taken off today I thought. He was clearly up for it which I haven't seen from him before and he played some lovely football at times. When he puts the effort it, it's clear he could play at a higher level and he showed that at times today. As for Saga, he didn't do a great deal but he certainly wasn't static. He tried hard today. Okay so he didn't achieve much, but you can't accuse him of not putting the effort in. Otherwise you're pretty much spot on IMO
  22. I haven't got a log in there either. Is it one specific thread which is of interest or just their depression in general?
  23. Very good crowd indeed, again.
  24. Our defence won absolutely everything today. Ok, so Yeovil don't exactly have the fiercest foreward line, but in previous seasons their big lad up front would have won all his headers, but today he won nothing. Jaidi and Trotman were so dominant, along with Harding and Thomas who won a lot on the floor. We were never threatened really. Morgan looked really up for it, as did Hammond. We still played it high too often, bypassing the midfield but when the ball did go through our midfield we were doing ok. We still need a natural winger, James and Lallana aren't wingers, but when Mills came on he looked good. Pretty good win, nothing special but that doesn't matter. We desperately needed a win and we got one! Oh and Lallana's corners are still embarrassing.
  25. I'm not having a go, but I guess it could be that either we currently have no pace in the team which he will provide or that he comes from a quality Serie A team so can't be too bad.
