  1. Saleability of course. He wanted to sell more books, which he has done from all this over reaction, so he did exactly what he wanted. Perhaps he isn't such a "naive" businessman after all. But yeah if the "inflate his ego" reasoning works well for you then by all means go for it.
  2. Do these even exist any more?
  3. Have you not heard about what's supposedly going on here tonight? There was even a story about it in the Echo today!
  4. Well Pardew describes him as a striker, so I'll believe him over you on this occasion.
  5. Happy days. Upfront on Saturday please.
  6. You're not serious? The support during the game was pretty good yesterday considering we were playing poorly against 10 men. Only a few fans boo'd (booed?) at the end of the game to vent their frustration. But how many times have we boo'd/booed/boobood after games in recent years? Twice? Three times? You're not seriously suggesting that booing is the reason we've been losing all the time in the past 5 years is it?
  7. I tend to agree as I dislike booing but you can totally understand it after yet another inept performance of hoof and run. It's a reactionary vent of frustration, which obviously helps nobody but I suppose it does show that the fans won't accept these sorts of performances and just go away with the attitude of "oh well never mind, maybe one day we'll win". The fans expect better than that.
  8. That'd leave us with only 3 strikers again. Not a good idea. Pato didn't do great yesterday but he came very close to scoring let's not forget - he was unlucky to have his shot cleared off the line. He was no worse than Lambert yesterday. IMO both weren't up for it.
  9. Haha, I have to admit, 99% of the things you say are moronic but that made me laugh. You can sleep well tonight with that knowledge.
  10. It really wasn't that exciting mate.
  11. I was at Swindon. But that night one team turned up: Swindon. They actually played some nice football, today we watched two pathetic football teams lump the ball in the air. Yes the defence was solid, but I think my Gran would have looked solid against Colchester today and she died 10 years ago.
  12. Let's not forget that Colchester were woeful. They had no intention of playing football, everytime they got the ball they hit it long - almost as much as we did. I agree that we never looked threatened at the back but that's not much to write home about. Colchester were/are shocking.
  13. Anyone know if Waigo is good in the air? He's pretty tall which is good (at least he looked it today) but if he can't head the ball then he'll be almost useless for us because at the moment the long ball is the only ball Pardew is instructing our players to play.
  14. Certainly an over-reaction to call him class and great. He is neither of those, but he is doing okay at the moment and I'm pleased with him in the team. However, whenever we're in a sticky position and need someone to pass to, he looks or runs away. He never wants the ball played to him which just shows that he can't play football - all he wants to do is head it or hoof it away. At times that's fine but I'd prefer it if he at least had some ability with the ball at his feet.
  15. Very accurate analysis.
  16. Thought Hammond did okay in the middle today as did Lloyd James, but that was it. They didn't create anything worth while. They didn't look threatened either, but I think that was more due to the fact that Colchester were the worst team to come down here for many years. Oh and will the Northam PLEASE stop shouting for players to shoot from miles out - it goes to their head and they believe they can do it. Harding, Thomas, James and indeed Hammond. None of them can shoot from far out, as showed by Hammonds terrible attempts today (apart from 1 good one out of about 6). Cheers:)
  17. Well that was diabolical. Probably the worst game of football we'll see, played by two terrible teams. Colchester were laughable (how they are near the top of the league is a joke) but we didn't even look like beating them. We have no movement upfront (what so ever), we play the ball in the air 99 times out of 100, our crossing is wayward, we have no natural and talented wide players, our players show very little urgency and desire and we can't score. Those are the main problems I can think of. Lambert doesn't look interested - probably due to the fact that all we do is lump it high in the air to him, but even so he looks distinctly average at the moment. Paterson, offside offside offside, the new Bradley Wright? Mellis clearly has potential but no final product or strength or anything useful really. James and Hammond weren't troubled in the middle but didn't produce anything either and Thompson I'm pretty sure isn't a professional footballer. Oh and I hope Mills was just having an off day with his so called crosses. Christ did they even have a shot on target? They were woeful yet we never looked like winning the game apart from a few (almost) lucky own goal chances. Morgan looked good when he came on, he actually tried to pass the ball on the floor which is something we didn't do all game. Pathetic tactics Pardew. Yeah we were bad, very bad. This Papa guy needs to be a miracle worker, but if he's no good with his head then we're in trouble, because balls in the air is all the service he's going to get.
  18. Yeah, I was there that night. We were playing so poorly but when he came on the game completely changed. We still lost, but without him we wouldn't have even come close to getting something. He also gave us fans at the pompey 4-2 defeat something to cheer with his goal there.
  19. No. A really bright spark in a woeful season.
  20. Am I the only one who thinks we should use this awesome tune for his song?? Perhaps learn all the words, whether they're relevant or not. Paga Waigo, doo be doo be doo be dooby Paga Waigo, oh Papa Waigo.
  21. Which team were Grimsby playing? I'd like to see if it's still available on the bbc.
  22. Apparently not. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/PreviewDetail/0,,10280~1785347,00.html
  23. Please guys, the adults are talking about football. That's better. In reality the guy probably wants to catch the eye of a better club in England - but if that means he plays well to earn a move to a bigger club then so be it!
  24. More likely they'll just be bored.
  25. Parpar Way-you-go En-die-aye, aye.
