Agree that he should not be sold whatsoever. I haven't seen much of him but what I have I've been impressed. He's the sort of player which we should be signing and putting straight into the team, so to have one already and be sat on the bench is confusing. Hopefully he's just not quite match fit yet.

I'd like to agree with you but I can't see people picking up the words, especially knowing how fast our fans insist on singing every song. OWTS is almost unrecognisable nowadays because of the speed so a new song with more than 10 words is unlikely to catch on without a little help imo. Sad but true perhaps.

I actually think that's a pretty good idea. I'd certainly appreciate one as I sure as hell won't remember all the words as I'm quite thick. Shame really. What are you going to do give them out on the travel club or something?

That's always going to be the case though isn't it. Although on first view it looks slightly alarming, but final decisions on signing players are always going to be taken by the Chief Exec/Owner rather than the manager, otherwise we'd have Kaka, Messi and Ronaldo by now and we'd be in the **** again financially! He's exactly like Wotton I agree, except that Gillett can pass, tackle and run... well. Hmmm, to be fair though ladysaint is right. Gillett was one of the only highlights from a terrible season last year and without him we look spineless and lacking in ideas. He's our best midfielder by quite a long way, and he's sat on the bench. You can understand why fans are baffled.

Yeah Pardew didn't sound confident at all of signing anyone before Swindon. His words were "I don't really know to be honest" whilst sighing, so those aren't the words of a man who knows a deal/some deals are close. More worrying though is the fact that he said we need "One or two" more players... I hope he wasn't speaking literally. We need five or six!!

Yep absolutely agree with that. Our current team is nowhere near good enough and today has been a massive wake up call. We didn't even threaten Huddersfield today, we made it very easy for them by the sounds of things. The worrying thing is we will definately not sign 6 players, but that's at least what we need. Not good.
