So long as we can bring players through like Tella, it’s worthwhile and I wouldn’t say it’s not delivering. Just difficult to churn out a PL player year after year. Also you have the likes of Obafemi who get sold (reported at £1.5m to £2m) which helps offset costs. Theres a consensus that we seem to hold onto some young players for too long, and I maybe agree with it. Like you say, maybe the new/future setup with other clubs may provide a better solution.

Stephens RB probably the right shout. Though I thought his distribution today was very sloppy at times. Like you I don’t like JWP not in the middle, I like Diallo but we are better with JWP in there.
-
Correct. It’s the softest of fouls but everyone knows if you put your hands up like that as the last man you’re just putting yourself hugely at risk. Especially when the ball had already almost gone through to the keeper. The whole move was just brain dead defending from him.
-
Much rather get a first choice left back in. Not impressed with Perraud again tonight.
-
3 games called off before now. works both ways I guess, not as sharp as they could be but not leggy either.
-
It was unprofessional, and represented his time on the field. It was a very soft foul but we all know it’s a foul nonetheless and once it gets given it’s only going to be a yellow. Stupid prat getting booked inside 3 minutes, stupid prat for putting himself in that situation inside 30 minutes.
-
VAR doesn’t apply for a second yellow.
-
Should make him walk back.
-
Valery should never play for saints again.
-
O’bafemi was nowhere close to getting to the ball, it went straight through to Forster. Dopey defending, two yellows inside 30 minutes when your team has been in the ascendancy ffs.
-
Fucking knew that would happen when got booked.
-
Armstrong starting to get into the game nicely, pulling some strings down the right side.
-
Completely forgot there’s no fans at the stadium.

Talking of Shurlock, I wondered whatever happened to his old sparring partner Wes Tender? Just had a look at his profile and he hasn’t logged on here since 9 January 2021, but he’d been posting loads up to then. Unless he just suddenly decided to bin this place, it could be a sad one.
-
He made 21 appearances at Lincoln in all competitions, started 10 and came on as sub in the rest. He scored 1 goal. Sounds like he could be the next Shane Long.
-
How did that work out for him? 👍
-
That’s kind of the problem. He saw it entirely as his. And, as egg and plenty of others have either seen or heard first hand, the guy was extremely driven but also extremely flawed. He kept banging on about Saints living within their means whilst racking up huge debts. He was tolerable while there was a bunch of millions behind him to satisfy his thirst, and he oversaw some very good decisions by the club in terms of managers and progress. But it’s undeniable that the geezer was an absolute fucking lunatic. He oversaw a couple of the best seasons I’ve ever supported Saints though, so fair play to him.

I guess we’ll see what happens with the game against the Shrews. What I found interesting about calling this one off was this quote from the EFL. We had injuries contributing to our game being called off against Newcastle, now the health of regular club staff and it’s supporters gets assessed on whether a match should go ahead. The system is ripe for abuse. "Having now fully reviewed the circumstances involved, the League has accepted Liverpool's request after determining, albeit reluctantly, that a postponement was the only option as the club looks to mitigate against the further risk of infection amongst its squad and staff alongside ensuring public health was protected by not travelling from Liverpool to London."

Yes, this is the thing that makes the MK situation so abhorrent. Wimbledon got completely fucked over, they reformed, and they’re now back in the same league as MK with a new ground. MK will always be seen in a negative light and it doesn’t help their long term cause at all that they basically stole a team. If I came from MK I’d be embarrassed to support them. If they’d have risen through the ranks it would have been seen as an amazing success story. The biggest windup IMO is that they call themselves Dons. Just call yourself Milton Keynes and get on with your plastic life. Keeping the Dons name is an absolute insult to Wimbledon.

Thanks for the PM. I have to say it is indeed an extremely interesting one. I’ll say no more on the matter 👍

You don’t have to list U21 players in the main squad,so if you have u21s they can be included in addition to the main squad. Which is why a PL side should never not have enough eligible players due to injuries, albeit you have to drill down to the reserve/junior sides.
-
I don’t think fining them is going to solve much.
-
I really don’t understand how injuries can contribute to a game being called off. COVID cases, yes, I totally get that. But the statement specifically mentions covid and injuries. Injuries should surely not be a factor?
-
Nonsense. Keep it going ffs. MLG refusing to admit he’s wrong yet again, Turkish dropping the Mr Wrong image, everyone’s favourite forum pink jacketed militant getting at it, what’s not to enjoy? Keep up the good work one and all! Less gifs though please MLG, they’re not the best.
