Rasiak had no pace and scored a few. There are probably better options but he's still around a 1 in 2 goalscorer in this league and that isn't to be sniffed at. Pace comes from Tella/Edozie/A-A and possibly Sulemana if he stays, we just need someone to be in the right place to put the ball in the net. Put it this way, our strikers are Adams, AA, Onuachu and Mara. He has to be worth a punt surely?

I always liked JWP but I know people on here were quite split. Beyond his free kicks I think he had a good engine, a good pass, pretty good vision and rarely missed a game. But I won't be losing sleep over the sale - as nice a bloke as he is too he's nearly 29. This was most likely his last chance at a big money move. Personally I dont think West Ham is right for him, I think there are a lot of issues at that club that need resolving but if nobody else is going to come in for him there are not a lot of options for him. We need to move on post JWP and Lavia and rebuild the midfield. We don't know if Charles is going to be any good, Smallbone will be little more than tidy and so it is now all on Charly.... who may yet be courted by big sides.

Back 5 writes itself (for now) Midfield will probably be Smallbone, Charles and Charly Front three same as last week with possibly Adams starting over AA. And yes just looking at that without JWP it looks weird. Dude hardly ever missed a game. It definitely needs strengthening, hopefully with JWP and Lavia out after the sales of Salisu, Tino, DCC and all the wages saved, we can start to bring players in. We need a whole new spine.
