Rasiak had no pace and scored a few. There are probably better options but he's still around a 1 in 2 goalscorer in this league and that isn't to be sniffed at. Pace comes from Tella/Edozie/A-A and possibly Sulemana if he stays, we just need someone to be in the right place to put the ball in the net. Put it this way, our strikers are Adams, AA, Onuachu and Mara. He has to be worth a punt surely?

I always liked JWP but I know people on here were quite split. Beyond his free kicks I think he had a good engine, a good pass, pretty good vision and rarely missed a game. But I won't be losing sleep over the sale - as nice a bloke as he is too he's nearly 29. This was most likely his last chance at a big money move. Personally I dont think West Ham is right for him, I think there are a lot of issues at that club that need resolving but if nobody else is going to come in for him there are not a lot of options for him. We need to move on post JWP and Lavia and rebuild the midfield. We don't know if Charles is going to be any good, Smallbone will be little more than tidy and so it is now all on Charly.... who may yet be courted by big sides.

Back 5 writes itself (for now) Midfield will probably be Smallbone, Charles and Charly Front three same as last week with possibly Adams starting over AA. And yes just looking at that without JWP it looks weird. Dude hardly ever missed a game. It definitely needs strengthening, hopefully with JWP and Lavia out after the sales of Salisu, Tino, DCC and all the wages saved, we can start to bring players in. We need a whole new spine.

I assume he's one that is not for sale no matter what the money. (Obviously everyone has a price but I assume his would be higher than most teams would pay). Otherwise it becomes a case of "last one out, turn out the lights!"

Not that I think we will lose every jewel (and you could include Alcaraz in bold there as I think he’ll also have his suitors) but that shows how dangerous light and weak our squad could be. Yes we will sign players but the have to a) be good and b) be integrated and ready. That’d be a blow... Aaron’s about the best we could have hoped for in this division. Fight Saints! As for JWP it was always likely he was going to go and I’ll wish him the best, we just wanted the money we were owed for him. I still think he’s crazy if he joins West Ham but the lack of bids from other clubs leaves him without options. Sell him and Lavia and we can start bringing in players and try to keep the better ones we have.

Another player we need to be keeping hold of... Charly. This match has highlighted how important our jewels are to us and how poor our squad options are. Lavia aside I really hope we can do our best to keep the rest of our jewels, though I wouldn't begrudge JWP a Premier League move. But Tella, Charly, KWP, possibly ABK and maybe Sulemana... we need to try and keep those players if we can. We definitely need to focus on getting rid of the chaff. Question is... to who?

Hopefully this will show that we need reinforcements in certain positions. Namely CB, CM and striker. And keeper. And if we sell more of them then probably AM/Winger. And probably another RB. So yeah, LB looking good though.

Yep I wouldn't read too much into it IMO. Yes there's every possibility we could still lose JWP, Lavia, KWP, Sulemana, ABK, Tella, Adams and Perraud but I can't see all 8 players getting sold and anyway I don't think we'd care much about cup tying them for other teams. It's just we've put out a squad team that obvious Martin thinks will do the job against a (probably) weakened Gillingham.

Good luck Tino. Newcastle are taking a punt on his fitness but it's probably a punt worth taking for the money... and they have a lot of it. For me we now must try to keep KWP. Bree and Aarons would be decent right backs but not of the same quality as KWP and Tino IMO. But the fact that we've been linked to Aarons probably means they're expecting KWP to go.
