That will likely be our downfall seeing as it's Liverpool. Our goal difference also sucks. I hate that I sound like a mardy bastard because we did get a well fought win against Chelsea but I'm staying grounded and still think it's too little too late. However as I've said I just want us to fight and give us a chance so, I suppose, going into the last day with a chance of survival would be decent especially considering where we are right now. I just feel like I already know how that ends.
-
Down or not, all I wanted for the rest of this season is to show some fight. Show some guts. Show some bollocks. Today's game has largely passed me by but damn if it seems like we showed some bollocks.

Lionel Messi player manager. You heard it here first. (And last).

Going from hating the line-ups of Jones to Beware the sides of Marsch.😎
-
Better than Jones, low expectations (as in relegation won't be his fault), seems likeable, my initial thoughts are he wouldn't be my choice but unlike Jones he will get my full backing from the start. Also I wanted a manager who can rebuild in the summer and this means he gets a good 3 months to see who is half decent and who we should be shot of.
-
I do like a likeable manager. Always had soft spots for Bally, Gordon and Nige. It's like I'm wanting them to do well. While Jesse wouldn't be my choice It's very possible I'll be won over pretty quickly and I'll want him to be a success whatever league we're in.
-
That’s what I think we need. A name manager like Benitez to unite the club as much as possible, brings experience and we only need keep him on until the summer whatever happens. He’s probably a pipe dream but is available. I don’t blame him for what happened at Everton either, they are a club in as much crap as us. I’m not saying it has to be Benitez but someone that can pull the club together in our main goal this season. Benitez is a proven cup winner too… 😉

Kompany was a top player, Carrick too. Both doing wonders in the Championship as was Rooney at Derby not so long ago . Scott Parker was doing OK at Fulham for quite a chunk of time. Some clubs just don't fit certain people but also I think in Lampard and Gerrard's case they took big pressure jobs too soon. Lampard previously did well at Derby (albeit with loans from Chelsea helping him) and Gerrard previously did well at Rangers. I'm not saying either are the answer for us necessarily (though I'd prefer Gerrard) but to write them off is a bit premature. They'll get Prem or Championship jobs again eventually.
-
He wouldn't be top of my list but then again be wouldn't be near the bottom either. He's reached a reasonable level of management through the Red Bull system so he must have something about him. Oh and he's been in the Prem for a couple of seasons so should know what we're about and our best line ups etc. I just think we're hastily appointing another new manager that we'll no doubt give a long contract to when perhaps a short term "firefighter" may be a better option, then regroup in the summer come what may. We shall see. He can't be worse than Jones... right?
-
If we can get a manager playing to our strengths I can see 15/16 points max. So 30/31 points. Bye Prem. We really are going to have to beat some big boys\in-form teams to stand a chance. Too little too late IMO. Just looking at those last 2 games of the season we would need to be on or around 35 points by then. Brighton and Liverpool most probably nil point.

Urgh not Jesse fucking Marsch please! 🤦♂️

Remember when Ralph first came in after the disastrous Hughes era (which I turn came after the disastrous Pellegrino and Puel eras)? He instantly turned us into a pressing side, gave us an identity and instantly got us results against big teams. Yes our team now is weaker but any decent manager comes in and makes the best of the players available. It can't be proven but any decent manager could have done a better job than Jones has.
-
For me Dyche was a no brainer at the time. Never had much of a budget at Burnley and yet kept them up for quite a while punching above their weight with a bloody organised defence. Yes his football isn't attractive but he'd have sorted our shoddy defence out and we have the attacking players to nick a goal or two against the run of play. Not pretty but he would have done. Too late now.
-
Rather have Chris Wilder over Dean Smith if we're scraping the barrel. Did better in his Prem stint. I wouldn't be against Gerrard building the team next season. Did well at Rangers even if his Villa stint was a bust. Who else is there? Peter Bosz?
-
I sort of agree although I think it's too late we might as well try. But what we don't want to do is appoint someone to fight the fire then keep them on past the summer like we did with Hughes. Trying to get this team to suddenly play brilliantly and win games is probably beyond the realms of most mortals though. The rot has long since set in. Good riddance to Jones. Wrong choice from the start (which is partly down to the board not him) but he was way out of his depth. I just feel sad that we could have achieved so much more in these three months... but hey ho we march on.
-
Pellegrino and his Carrillo waste of money will always be top of this list for me. But Jones is top 3 now with Poortvliet. I was only a fleeting Saints fan during the Branfoot era so largely bypassed it. Hughes was pretty crap too. Poortvliet is harsh because he didn't have the money but he was still awful.
-
I haven't put much thought into this but I'd be inclined to let Stevie G take the job and try building something next season. A la Kompany who has done a fantastic job. As I say i haven't put much thought into it so don't rip me a new one. Either way I think we need to look to next season, someone that can take the remnants of this side post sales and get us up.

Well there goes MOTD for another week. Gotta try and work out where the Championship highlights are these days. (Kidding, the wife is a Norwich fan so I'm well aware where they are!)
-
Yeah... but at least we could get someone that fucking tries to put the best team out and isn't a twat in interviews.
-
This evening? Needs to be sacked as soon as the final whistle goes. On the bench. In front of the fans.
-
25 to 1... it was like printing money and I didn't do it...
-
Fucking fuck fuck fuck offffff Jonez you cretin
-
Dear Lord, if you let Saints score a winner I promise I won't invite any ladies over while my wife is away this weekend... 😐
