  1. Jesus Saints. We really are shit. Atrack a bit without any real penetration then watch them smash one in. There's only so long you can talk about the Eckert bounce before it's irrelevant. Big transfer window coming up if we want to try to get into the playoffs this season.
  2. This for me. I seem to remember it was bloody chilly but totally worth it. Just had a quick look at the starting line up. I'd forgotten Neil Trotman ever played for us, let alone that I'd seen him score. Starting lineup: GoalkeeperBart Białkowski DefenderNeal Trotman Defender/Centre backChris Perry Defender/MidfielderDan Harding Defender/MidfielderLloyd James Defender/MidfielderMorgan Schneiderlin MidfielderDean Hammond Midfielder/ForwardMichail Antonio Midfielder/ForwardAdam Lallana Midfielder/ForwardRickie Lambert ForwardDavid Connolly Substitutions: Joe Mills for Adam Lallana 61 Papa Waigo N'Diaye for David Connolly 75 Paul Wotton for Joe Mills 83
  3. I'm nursing a chest infection but I'm medicating it with Beechams All in One and 19 Crimes Red Wine and it's going pretty well so far. A Saints win on Boxing Day would make me feel even better. And I'm not drunk, but Scienza is better than Messi. There I said it. Anyway happy Christmas season to all you poor, long suffering fools, of which I have been one for the last 36 years. Don't worry, we'll win a trophy in the next ten years. I forsee it.
  4. At least you can say Welington is playing out of position. That's on Tonda. Manning has been playing LB/LWB for years and he is currently the best we have. We're miles away from the Prem.
  5. We have to win the second half. Should be fun.
  6. Watching this on and off (working) and some of our play has been horrifying. Manning there just before the goal just smashed it back to their players. Awful. Defence with no header either. That was a simple goal for them.
  7. Pre-season I'd have put money on our respective League positions being reverse of what they are but credit to old Lamps and his team, they're flying. But, as comes with being top and in good form, that makes us the underdogs for this one, and we have the talent to spring a surprise. We need to get some winning consistency and beating Cov will help a lot with that for the rest of the month. St Mary's will be buzzing for this one. 2-1 Saints though I am not confident on that.
  8. Essentially some things should be noted. Fellows is key to our attacking success. AA can take a good penalty but not always. Defence needs improving. Eckert needs to work on his game plan. We need better squad players. Plus some other stuff that I'm too tipsy to think about.
  9. Score the penalty and this is a different story... but it's not. Hey ho. We go again.
  10. Not our day. Annoyingly I'm getting ribbed by my mates for this and it'll be worse when I get home.
  11. Nah 2 1 final score
  12. We go again...
  13. A draw would now be acceptable. Seriously.
  14. This isn't in the script...
  15. Big chance to show we're not always shit in second halves. And Eckert's chance to make positive subs.
  16. Fully agree. Just thought that same thing.
  17. He's shite. But apparently a good penalty saver.
  18. Good save
  19. Only turned on Sky Go a couple mins ago and seems to be all Norwich.
  20. No but we do have a shoehorn. 😃
  21. When we give them a good stuffing tomorrow it'll give my Norwich supporting missus another reason to moan. Thankfully as I'm out doing the 12 pubs of Christmas, I won't be there to hear it. I just hope (and expect) a few of the pubs we hit between half 12 and half 2 have Sky. We've definitely caught Norwich at a good time, they're sinking, we're rising. It often seems like we catch teams shortly after they've had some sort of renaissance but that's not the case for Norwich. I saw bits of their game last weekend and their keeper makes Baz look like Peter Shilton. Sargent out seems like a plus, but reading their forum, they seem to think they looked better after he came off. I still think it's a good thing. I'm going 4-1.
  22. Striker. Baz has flaws but has at least made some good saves recently, and ideally needs replacing long term, but we need a striker more. No Stewart for God knows how long, Archer ineffective, Downs non-existent, we’re relying heavily on AA. We Need a big but mobile striker for something different, and hopefully someone who knows where the goal is. Cheeky bid for Norwich’s Sargent if his valuation has dipped since the summer…
  23. Probably because we sub off the good players and our replacements aren't good enough. Work to be done in January. Tonda does need to work on his game management too. Lets not forget too, WBA aren't a bad team. And, we did get the 3 points, however pant-shittingly close it ended up.
  24. Not looking at this thread or BBC for the next 10 minutes...
  25. It definitely looks like our game management needs work. Drop two points here, or worse, and that's pretty poor from a team that had a commanding lead at half time.
