I still fancy Blackburn to overturn Liverpool at Ewood. While they're not the best team in the Championship, they're far from the worst either and have some decent players. It's the cup, anything can happen and I reckon Blackburn will be well up for it. Plus I'd love it if Liverpool didn't make the final. But at the expense of us finishing 7th and getting a European place, even if it is the Europa? No. The Europa is a stepping stone in the right direction, as long as we build on it and not put all our eggs in one basket as Everton seemingly have this season.

Last time this topic was raised, I went for Clyne. Now I have to go for Mr Consistancy, Jose Fonte. We haven't been helped by injuries though. Mané or Yoshida fight for most improved over the course of the season IMO.

They say you're never too good to go down, but IMO Everton are as close to that as any. They've got too much quality to go down, and there's enough crud at the bottom of the league to shield them even if they do slip. You never can tell though. The biggest concern for Everton fans is losing their bigger players in the summer, especially if they don't win the Europa and finish low in the Prem.

All the bigger sides in those ties will do their jobs tonight, but if there are any slip ups at all I think it could be Newcastle and Swansea to get points. I'd love Burnley to get something for obvious reasons but can't see it.

He wanted a long contract. Jermain Defoe is 32 years old and has a game that has largely relied on pace. Sunderland will be paying him millions of pounds until he's nearly 37 and no doubt as slow as a drunken badger, with no sell on worth whatsoever. I'm with CB on this one, Defoe would have been a decent quick fix on a short term contract, but for the length he wanted, hell no.

He joined Norwich on loan, then Millwall. :-) I think we'll pick it up against Palace. We're almost second favourites for this game based on recent form and Palace won't sit back, they'll come at us. Which will suit us. I can see 3 points for Saints. Weirdly confident.

Perhaps the worst thing to come out of this poor run is the smug satisfaction of every Liverpool, United, Spurs and Arsenal fan saying "I knew Southampton would fade away eventually." Well we turned a poor run of form around in November and we can do the same again. It's not too late to surprise the big teams, though we need to arrest the bad form quickly. We we go into the Palace game now with them as the favourites based on form. Could help.

Hi all, just back from work. I think the key to winning today is not to concede an early g... ...oh. Never mind. 2-1 away win coming up then.

It's black and blue, but I see white and gold. However as someone said on Facebook, if you look at the white and gold picture on a screen like an iPad or phone, and tilt the device as if you're looking "up" the picture from the bottom, if does appear blue and black. Brains are weird.

I reckon people might fancy Mané, but largely it's defensively (especially defensive midfield) we need to worry about player departures. There is one person we need to retain no matter what though, and that's Koeman.
