Downes caught Downs 2 bob bits? Yea looking weaker in CM now. Slip shoehorn in there and go 4231.
-
Hopefully the last we see of the back 3. Post window closure we have the International break for Still to get the players ready for his preferred formation.

Ah Watford, formerly owned by my near-neighbour Elton John. I once popped over there for a cup of sugar, and when he told me to piss off, I kicked him in the leg. He didn't flinch and taunted me because he was still standing. I told him I was sending for family reinforcements to which he replied "dont let the son come down on me". Ok I could do shit puns all day but here's the wheel. Following the Wrexham game where it got the result bang on, it has gone back to it's usual series of incorrect predictions, and thus normality has resumed. Screen_Recording_20250830_115404_Samsung Internet.mp4 So there you have it, another defeat going into the International break. We hope the wheel continues to be wrong.

As in positions? As I take it... Azaz is a 10/attacking midfield playmaker. Jander is a CM that can play DM or box to box. Fellows is an old school, right footed quick right winger. Essentially in a 4231 Jander in CM, Fellows on the right and Azaz behind the striker. I still think we'll get a left winger in (Scienza?) to help relieve the pressure on Robinson and Fraser but that can only happen if we ship out BBD and Edozie. I assume we'll keep Matsuki to back up Azaz.

Getting cut adrift! New players will take months to click, Baz in goal, strikers can't score, Will is ginger, Jack is never leaving... it's all going wrong. ð Don't panic, early days and even a defeat tomorrow isn't a disaster. After the International break is when the newbies will have had some time to gel... and then we play the Skates. That's the must win.
-
Hence the square peg in a round hole scenario. Jack, Manning and Matsuki can all probably do a job there but that's hardly ideal. I wouldn't be surprised to see a loan if we ship Aribo and Will.

Had a stiffy all evening but that's sorted it. Ta.

I haven't felt a right tit for months. Left one either, come to think of it. ðĪŠ I guess the Guilavogui link was just one of those that clubs put out there to speed other deals along. That said, it was in a link the other day that the Lens manager said Morgan was on his way out, so maybe there was some truth to it. That, the Scienza and the Spertsyan links, theres no smoke without fire but we can't sign everyone.

Found this fascinating, Ipswich can now field WBAs entire back 5 from a few years ago. I know Ipswich are tipped to win the League but I really can't see a runaway leader this year. This would be a good year for us to click and shine. Add another trophy to the old cabinet.

Thats a worry for me too. Sesay may be better spending the season on loan and with 3 CMs we're only a suspension or injury away from looking thin and being in the square peg, round hole scenario. But we have 3 very good CMs for this level so bringing a squad option in looks like the only option, and that can only be a loan really. Or... we keep Sesay or Bragg or someone and use the youth.
-
I just had a look through Leicester's team, there's not one player I'd take here apart from Fatawu. Skipp as a squad option perhaps but that's it. They'll get beaten a few times this season you'd think.
-
I know Azaz probably hadn't had much training time with us but I still hope he's on the bench tomorrow and we stop the 3CB experiment. 4222 for me (with attacking 2 wide) : Baz, Mads, THB, Jack, Manning, Shea, Flynn, Fraser, Robinson, Archer, Stewart. Long term I don't think we play with 2 strikers, so we have to find the best 1. But I'd like to see 2 for now. I'll do the pointless, stupid, disliked, factless, usual post and wheel tomorrow when I can be arsed.

Glass or 2 of red wine tonight i think. ð·ð·ð·ð·ð· I hope the fans going tomorrow enjoy seeing them unveiled in the flesh.

I don't think we're done with incomings bearing in mind recent links (and we do still need a couple of players) but I do think it rests on the exits. Hopefully Wrexham's interest in Will is concrete, surely someone will want BBD and I still think Edozie goes to Brugge. I've not seen of any links to Aribo though. And weirdly, he'd be the one I'd personally keep of those 4. Deadline day will be VERY watchable this year, incomings or not.

Welington is out for months, and Jelert is primarily a right back. I hope we keep Taylor.
-
Love a loan with an option. Does well, he's ours. Does shite, we pack him off. We need cover at full back and Jelert ticks that box. Bree or Taylor out then? With Welington out long term I hope it's Bree, though I quite like him.

Start the day by selling Matty and finish the day with a stonking trio of signings for this level. Tidy. More please! ðĪŠ
-
Welcome Casper. 3 CMs should be enough, I'd be greedy that I'd like a 4th but if it means we keep Matsuki that's fine.
-
Ooh Azaz, you're so Finn, you're so Finn you blow my, umm, Min. And yes bitter comments from Boro fans which is always a good sign we have a player they didn't want to lose. Same for Baggies and Fellows. Good work. Signing the better Championship players is what a team that just got relegated should be doing. Now get Fellows and Jander in, then Scienza or another left winger and sprinkle it with a loan or two and we're looking I great shape. Sure we still have Baz as number 1 but I feel that was always going to be the case this season. Get a few out, Will, Joe, Ben, Sam, and the squad looks healthy. And there's always the January window.
-
Well, when we win the Carabao Cup this season, we can thank Matty for his goal against Northampton.
-
I hope nothing comes of that. He's started the season badly but I still think he's going to be a decent prospect eventually. Yes it means we have 5 CBs when we really only need 4 (if we go back to Still's preferred 2CB system) but I'd still rather we held on to him. It makes us more tactically flexible too if we switch to 3CBs if needed when we would need the personnel. I'd rather Wood went of the two even if the latter has so far looked better. Maybe the club still think THB will be subject to a late bid too.

You could add Guilavogui too. And Spertsyan, as noises from the last week or two but it's possible we have moved on from both. I could still see Morgan as a possible though, his manager says he's on his way out.
