  1. On a bouncy castle? :-) I would say I don't care where we have our pre-season tour, as I work shiftwork and wouldn't be able to go anyway, but I am off for three weeks in August and it sounds like a good way to get away from the missus for a while. To that end, a pre-season tour around the Med would be lovely.

As Maiesiophillic as that may be, I am in agreement. She was last weeks guilty pleasure for me, I'm over it now though.
  3. A play on the SRS initials could work. SaRSe or somesuch thing. :butthead:
  4. I go to games to watch my team play. I didn't use to - I shed my plastic status for this season just gone, and I'm very glad I did. I don't live in Southampton, I wasn't born or raised in Southampton, but Southampton are my team and have been since '89. I have made a few games before this season, but used to suffer from mild agoraphobia so they were few and far between. I'm much older and wiser now, and crowds don't bother me so much, and have thoroughly enjoyed my visits to SMS. Not another season will go by where I avoid games - in spite of shiftwork, I will always try and attend every game I can make - I love the crowds now, the spirit, the singing, I love the football, even when we play badly, and I love the pre- and post- match rituals that I have developed - wouldn't change it for anything.
  5. A free season ticket for having verbal diarrhoea. I can get on board with that. :-)
  6. If I die at 50 because of it - totally worth it. :-) I have a teetotal mate, and he's a miserable bastard. (Though when the rest of his mates pop out for a smoke every five minutes and leave him on his own. I can see why. :-)) :smt033:weedman::smt030:drinkers::partyman:
  7. Pee tubes for men. We shouldn't have to be expected to walk to the loos at halftime. Behind every seat is a tube linked with a hidden sewage system. so we can just pee in the tube without leaving our seats.
  8. I do love the whole situation at the club at the moment - a quiet money man in charge, a confident chairman in place, the ground paid off, new training facilities and perhaps the best squad we've seen for the level we play at since the Strachan years. However back in those play off days we didn't know that any of this would have happened. Scraping through and going up wouldn't necessarily have got us relegated from the Premiership straight away - and even if it did we would have two years of Premiership parachute payments to soften the blow. Promotion to the Premiership would have been far from a bad thing, I genuinely don't think we'd have dropped down to League One at all, but we would have been a comfortable CCC side. The difference with the current set up is that we have ambitions to get back to the Premiership and stay there - and the set up in place to do it. So yes, I'd prefer our current set up, just, but promotion to the Premiership wouldn't have been a bad thing at the time - it's where we all, REALLY, want to be. (Although I'll just be happy to be back in the CCC).
  9. I too think he'd make a good coach, but he may feel like he has another playing season left in him somewhere. Good luck to him, and all the released players that all played their part in the history of our club, in some way.
  10. I don't want Doherty here, but I am suprised he was released - however I liken him to Wayne Thomas, and we certainly don't want him (apparently) so no, we don't need him.
  11. Suprised about James and Thomas, not suprised at Perry and Murty. A big clearout - there will be some lucky clubs out there with the chance to sign our released players, but it's good to clear out the deadwood and go out and sign up some new players. Right back slot now non existant. Assuming we sign Calderon, we still need cover. James was that cover, but now he's gone too.
  12. Must sign them again, especially Antonio - any clubs interested in him after his (pretty good) season can naff off. Waigo was entertainment - but I don't doubt there are other players out there that could do a job as well as him.
  13. I've got the squits and am in danger of sharting. Add that to the liquids count.
  14. If memory serves, my Hay Fever had been acting up, and I sleepily wiped my eyes (as you do first thing in the morning), and took a bogey to the eyeball. Not pleasant, it bloody hurt. They eventually fished it out with water and the corner of a tissue, but to this day I'm pleased I don't have to wear contact lenses, it would freak me out.
  15. I'm going to hold my breath until we put a bid in for Chaplow. (Funeral flowers to be sent to SMS...)
  16. This thread reminds me of a time when I was a kid, about 8 or 9, when, on a trip to Chessington, I somehow managed to get a bogey lodged behind my eyeball, and spent the whole day in the First Aid office getting drenched in water as the park employee vainly tried dislodging it. It did come out eventually, but I missed the whole day of fun.
  17. I thought I'd give it a nudge in the right direction. :-$
  18. I know he's a miserable bastard anyways, but he couldn't have looked less enthused to be here...
  19. +1, or at least let us sneak outside for a quicky. I also nominate you, SRS, to wear an Elvis costume to get the crowd going, a la Carlisle in the JPT final. ;-)
  20. Waiting for the first response to this thread is my guess. :-) We'll be in the CCC, waiting for that big push for promotion to materialise.
  21. Pards will know better than anyone that failure next season will result in him losing his job. To that end, I expect he'll be more willing to succeed, and will be enjoying the rollercoaster ride less than even the most bitter of Saints fans.
  22. "Southampton Style" pleased me.
  23. What's not to like. I like our crest anyway, and this doesn't spoil it. I suppose it could have been better, but it could also have been much, much worse. (A grinning smile of Rupert Lowe holding an "I love Saints" banner would make a terrible crest...)
  24. Me too! ( ...until last year, and it's still my regular binge drinking town of choice...) Many times have I stood outside the castle drunkenly challenging her maj for a fight. She's never accepted, just as well when she can cut my head off.
