Echoes of the Home Alone house there. Just me? 😁
  2. I left home for work after the Archer chance on around 20 minutes, sounds like we did better after that. Bench is strong, we can still get the 3 points here. UTS
  3. Normally I'd be pleased to see the back of the International break but not so sure this time. No Stewart and 3 CBs again. Still Welington back is a bonus I guess. Before the season started we'd have put this down as a guaranteed 3 points. Now... God knows. I miss most of this game as I'm off to work so here's the ever unpredictable prediction wheel. Screen_Recording_20251018_112823_Samsung Internet.mp4 Come on Saints, prove it wrong.
  4. Probably my old person memory but I could have sworn blind until I was blue in the face that we signed Dryden direct from Exeter. 15 year old me probably wasn't paying enough attention.
  5. Sad for him, I just hope he excellent bouncebackability.
  6. Sorry, been busy...
  7. Don't like 3 CBs and never will but we were lopsided last week so hopefully this balances it out a bit. Don't hate that line up. Just let Ross loose.
  8. It's not how you start It's how you finish. Quote from someone.
  9. Here it is, the moment you haven't been waiting for. The mostly unreliable prediction wheel. More useless even than posting pretty Irish girls on the match thread. Well following a needed if somewhat iffy win against Sheff Utd, surely it will predict a win for the mighty Saints. Screen_Recording_20251004_103124_Samsung Internet.mp4 No. No it won't. So there you have it, another spanking. Thank god it's pretty useless. I shall be drunk on the Bermondsey beer mile today so will be relying on SWF to keep me updated as Derby's goals fly in. 😎

Super Saints who sit in the lower mid echelons of the Championship presently. 😜
  11. I watched the Norwich vs WBA game last night for my sins, WBA were very well organised and their GK was excellent, Griffiths. I know Ryan Mason has a lot to prove as a coach, but on paper, their team looks pretty decent, especially in attack. Charlie Taylor took a knock last night but I still think it's probable that they'll be in the promotion hunt if they, like us, can click long term. Norwich on the other hand... no chance. Liam Manning is a Canaries fan but he has a big job on his hands there. They lack quality.
  12. If we don't go up this season I would be impressed if we managed to keep hold of Charles next summer. I echo @spyinthesky's sentiments above, I liked JWP, and while I don't think he's got much left to give in the Prem, I still think he'd be an asset in the Championship if we were still here next season. That said I'd rather we explored other avenues before we got to thinking about re-signing him, I'd rather bring in a proper DM if Charles were to leave. If the Skates do well this season, I'm sure they'd be interested but I doubt they'd have the wages to sign him, unless he took a huge cut to go there.
  13. Knowing SR they’ll probably give a ton of money to his parent club to sign him. 😁
  14. He would have been a 5 for the piss weak challenge but I liked the way he used his strength to shove the attacker off in the second half when that could easily have been a goal. Up until his fuck up for their goal I didn't think he was having a bad game although admittedly a lot of it was crab passing.
  15. As did Jason Puncheon. Nice part of the world to finish your playing career off in! It is funny to see Pafos playing Bayern though. Like David vs Goliath.
  16. My ratings (seeing as I went to sleep the second the final whistle blew) McCarthy - 8 - Ok, he's not the best at playing with his feet and he does have a mistake in him (as we nearly saw once last night when under pressure from their attacker). But he made some excellent saves last night and rightly keeps Baz out of the team for me. I still hope we revisit the keeper spot in January though. Edwards - 6 - Some of his passing wasn't great and I don't remember him getting forward too much but he is a centre back playing on the right and I didn't have issue with him. I have issues with the formation really, I'm glad we dropped the 3CBs but Will has almost snuck it back in - just lopsided. Wood - 9 - Excellent. Best I've seen him play, he was first to everything, strong, his passing was good (and there was a lot of it between the defence in the first half). He currently deserves his place and deserves to stay there. Quarshie - 6 - as I said last night, I want to like him. But to put in the half arsed attempt to stop their striker for their goal was abysmal. I did like the strength he showed in the second half though to bully their player off the ball. I'd probably persevere with him, he will get better with more Championship experience. Manning - 6 - Not his best game, stupid booking, crosses meh. He's been improved this season since Welington's injury but I'd still like to see Jelert given a run out. Jander - 7 - First time I'd seen him play. What I liked most was his willingness to turn and run into space. Not the best first few minutes but he grew into the game - he looks a player and we'll see better performances I'm sure. Charles - 7 - He hustled and harried as usual. Fellows - 8 - I thought he was having an excellent game on the right, then Will hooks him at half time. He's pacy, dribbles, his crosses are decent, I think he'll go on to be an excellent signing for us. Not sure why he was hooked but luckily for Will it worked out. Azaz - 6 - I didn't think he played badly, I thought he offered himself up well, perhaps could have done better with the shot in the first half. The least confusing of the half time subs but even so, I think AA was having a worse game than him... at the time. AA - 6 - Poor in the first half, I didn't notice him for half and hour then he skies his penalty. He was much better in the second half, winning headers (including the one that hit the bar for Stewart's first) and his defensive work shouldn't go unnoticed, he stopped one of their attacks through sheer determination. Stewart - 9 MOTM - I mean, MOTM is either him or Wood but Stewart's moment of magic edges it. Best game for us, worked his balls off, created the penalty with his experience, had some headed chances, took his first coolly and his second was superb. Please God stay fit and keep banging them in! Subs: Fraser: 7 - He works hard and seems to want to well for us. I thought he was OK when he came on. Robinson - 6 - Did some defensive work which I applaud him for, didn't make much of an attacking impact that I remember Roerslev - 5 - I can't say I noticed him much, bar a couple of touches so I can't score him higher than that. Downes - 5 - Another one I didn't notice much of, but he didn't get booked. Which is something. Archer - 5 - no real impact - we were defending the lead by the time he got on. Overall it wasn't the best win but it was a much needed win. The first half there was too much passing around, a lack of ideas in attack, and when we lost the ball we looked vulnerable on the counter. It got better early on in the second half with a bit more directness but even so, we ended up going for containment, which nearly cost us with the disallowed goal. Still, Saints fans should be happy this morning, I am and another win against Derby will really kick start the season.
  17. You can't be Welsh, you're running away from the sheep.
  18. Yep, but unless we rapidly improve I'm not sure we're top 2 material as it stands. Mind you I don't think there are 2 runaway teams this season so there's a chance.
  19. A win is a win is a win. Could have gone either way but nice to be on the winning side and nice the penalty miss didn't cost us. 3 points next game and we're back in the play off hunt. Thought Wood, Fellows and Jander were good tonight, Fraser was decent when be came on. I still think our shape is wrong though.
  20. Best defender by far yep.
  21. And that's the last thought that will pass through my head before I go to sleep. Cheers Whitey.
  22. I'd get my wife some of that lingerie but they probably don't make it in her size.
  23. 11 mins and injury time. I'm off to bed. Hoping to see good things when I wake. Strong from Quarshie. No foul.
  24. One sub left, Ross has worked his bollocks off and will probably be knackered soon.
