  1. Both but Martin was the catalyst trying to play one way with players that aren't good enough to do it. I still think KWP, Ramsdale, Fernandes and Dibling would probably walk into most bottom half sides, THB might scrape into one or two but the problem is the rest are so damn Championship standard that the half decent players we have also look shite. They're not fit enough, not coached well enough and for the most part, aren't good enough. Juric has a hell of a job trying to get a tune out of them.
  2. Late to the party, see we're one up, come on here to see how we're doing... and Palace score. I guess I'll see you all after the final whistle then.
  3. True but that's what happens with a lack of confidence and, in Onuachu's case, a lack of playing time and rustiness. Onuachu can score goals, he's proved that. Keep playing him and he'll come good. That said I strongly suspect SR will be looking to offload players in the window, I suspect we'll lose Lesley who is rumoured to be going back to Chelsea and possibly Onuachu, just as both have started to show what they could offer us. Tis the SR way.
  4. But I agree with only 2 CBs as you can have the extra midfielder or attacker, despite our defence being tighter in the last couple of games, there’s no point being tight defensively if you’re not scoring goals. The balance looked a bit better in the last game vs West Ham but we still went and made a defensive mistake. One fewer CB, one fewer person to make a mistake! 😁 Get a proper DM in in January to shield the defence and let’s try and score some goals.
  5. 11 from safety and Leicester currently beating Liverpool. If Juric keeps us up it'd be the greatest sporting comeback in history. We're playing for pride, that's all. I really hope SR don't spend stupid money in the window next week.
  6. First win in the Spring then. Mind you we could win all our last 8 fixtures and still not stay up so...
  7. Come on lads, let's get that first half feeling back. Clearly lack of fitness not helping. Dibling and Sulemana at least give us some pace.
  8. Well thats that. But still an improved performance
  9. I like AA and we'll need him next season but I'd like to see Juric try some games without him.
  10. Need some luck here...
  11. Slip? VAR. Could be a yellow.
  12. I'd enjoy MOTD tonight more if we did score goals today... Red card West Ham!
  13. We're already down. At least playing this way we might give more teams a game and beat Derby's record.
  14. I'd love to see Archer and TP up top. Though knowing our luck we finally get TP in form and we'll sell him next week.
  15. This is brilliant. So much better.
  16. I don't fully blame us for not scoring yet despite the chances - we've not exactly had much practice at attacking teams so far this season.
  17. Suga can put in a great cross. Onuachu will get on the end of one eventually.
  18. I'd have an issue with that if it were AA on his own up top but with Onuachu it's not such a bad idea. As long as we mix it up and don't keep doing it.
  19. When Hasenhuttl joined there was a feel good factor although we then lost to Cardiff and slipped to bottom of the table, however his first home game we then beat Arsenal 3-2. I'd love for Juric to get us started with a win at home, it would lift the club so much and make the players feel like they CAN be part of this league, irrespective if it is only for the rest of this season. West Ham's squad is clearly better than ours though but their form has been patchy. It's not inconceivable we can win this but we need to do something radical about our attack as we simply need to start creating and scoring more chances. It's early days but I think it can be done. Too early though? We will see but it would make for a lovely Christmas for Saints fans to get 3 points on Thursday. Merry Christmas to you all. Keep the faith no matter how far fetched that may be.
  20. Hopefully more Welly than Wally.
  21. That's my issue with 3 CBs, you shouldn't need the midfield dropping deep all the time as you already have 3 CBs to do that job. Personally I prefer two CBs with a DM dropping deep if necessary (when the full backs go forward for instance) then you have an extra midfielder or attacker at the other end of the pitch. If we're stopping fannying about with the ball at the back, and I hope we do, then there isn't really any need for 3 CBs any more, no matter how well they did today. I'd rather have two CBs and play a bit more gung ho in an attacking sense because draws won't get us the points we need (if you even consider survival as an option still). That should be even more doable now we're not playing Russball and passing it around at the back in dangerous fashion. If Juric persists with a back 3 then that's his prerogative but we either need the wing backs to get forward more or stop the midfield from sitting deeper otherwise we are never going to score many goals.
  22. Clean sheet!
  23. Last corner?
  24. Penalty? No
