Russell Martin: "What is this 'attack' you speak of?"
-
I'd take pens but this England team does like to leave it late...
-
Bronze is done. More fresh legs.
-
I will say that Carter got better as the game went on. Still two more subs right? Not sure i can watch another penalty shoot out.
-
Another half an hour of this and England players will be shagged out. They're already knackered. Spain look like they have an extra gear.
-
Or... McCarthy Sugawara Stephens Wood Manning Smallbone Aribo Edozie Fraser Stewart BBD I think our first choice first XI is almost there without anyone leaving*. It's the squad players that are worrying. Too many of them, not enough quality. And I didn't even add Bazunu, ABK, Bednarek, Taylor, Archer, Matsuki and Kayi Sanda to either of those squads above. *I still expect SR to change this.

Mat, Downes, Dibling and Downs sounds like Status Quo lyrics...

Fair. Do we even know what kind of contract he’s on now? I have him down as the Lancashire/Walcott/Lallana youth “poster boy” past this season (even though he came from Plymouth….)
-
Imma calculate... he's contracted to us and there has been no concrete interest. But seriously, we're owned by SR. They'd sell their own Granny, Uncle and Daughter if the price was right. Until the window slams shut I won't be confident anyone we have on our books stays.

Had a choice of whether to watch James or James tonight and I ended up choosing James. Nice big scoreline from James's team tonight.
-
Well, that's relegation sealed again. 😝
-
Well, he's certainly better than My Pa.

Welcome Damion. That should be the attack sorted - AA, Downs, Archer and Stewart. Loan Ballard out again, sell BBD. We still need attacking midfielders unless the plan really is to keep Fernandes. (crosses everything in hope).
-
Alex O-C linked with a move back to the Championship... with Leicester interested. The next Walcott/Lallana-style, injury prone, former youth product to be brought back to St Mary's? I know we were linked last summer, I expect things have changed now.

I thought that was the former Skate player when I read it and now realise he's in his mid-40s.
-
Me either. Just seems to be a case of rich get richer and get to batter some shitter teams. I doubt many people outside the supporters of those clubs, or their plastic fans from across the world, or the media, could care about it - not like International football.

Livramento has been stand out and has played some of the tournament at left back. With England's problems in that position and with Newcastle often playing him at left back, he's virtually a no brainer to go to the WC.

https://www.facebook.com/reel/1031768269062830 I'm sure you've all seen these, but linky anyway.

Honourable mention to Andrew Davies, who got our POTS despite only playing a dozen or so games. Some doing that. After his two goals against Newcastle I thought Eljero Elia was going to be better than he was, he did very little else for us. I guess the answer is Toby or Ryan, but I have a soft spot for Berkovic. Really wish we'd got him permanently. Great goals in the 6-3.

I bumped into Guly in the Shell petrol station just before joining the M3 after a Saints game once. He gave me a thumbs up (not a euphemism). I'm still not sure how he managed to finish the game, do whatever the players do post-match and get to the petrol station before I got there, but I did get stuck in the usual traffic down the Avenue.

Clause is apparently for Prem only.

I was at Boarding School, 1998, doing A-Levels when the World Cup was on. My school had a Sixth Form Club which meant Sixth Formers had a place to go and drink alcohol at the weekends (the other option was Reading). However as it was a special occasion they opened it up on the Tuesday of the England vs Argentina game. We still had to do an hour of homework, at which point there was a mad rush to get to the club to secure the best seats in front of the giant TV. I have never won anything in my life, let alone anything athletic, but somehow through sheer will I got a front row seat to watch that match. Great atmosphere too. Alcohol was flying when Owen scored his goal.
