I've said it elsewhere, but this season - one that I have looked forward to less than any other - has been so over hyped by Sky/BT and the personalities of the managers has been elevated to ridiculous levels, that I sometimes wonder whether some of our fans blindly buy into the hype about managers, squads constructed with hundreds of millions of pounds, etc etc and are devoid of pragmatism and reality. As for over-hyping of managers, I find Mourinho quite extraordinary. His time at Chelsea last season seems to have been expunged from the history books. But CP might well come across as being dull in interviews, but that is overly judgemental. He showed plenty of passion when we scored (not quite Klopp like), seems animated in training and so long as he produces results, I would concur with fish fingers' sentiments.

Lol. Oh how an errant letter changes the meaning

I've given up watching the pressers, especially before we play ne of the big boys. The reporters seemingly just want to get some juicy bit about the opposition that they can print up, and take little interest in what is up with SFC.

My problem is that I am a little hard of hearing and can't actually hear what he says. Not the accent (when I can hear). Having lived in France for a number of years, I speak/spoke to French people in both English and French with their varying accents without problems (and only ever had problems when they were drunk and slipped into Basque).
-
Had to use the CC button on that, and I think that the auto computer bit couldn't quite understand Claude's accent.

So, we offer a reported £70k a week. Back of fag packet..... So I guess Man Utd would have to match that if not higher, as well as a transfer fee of say £10m (I know £8m has been bandied about) for what 3 year contract, although no doubt JF would want a 4 year one. So say £80k a week for 4 years - include the transfer fee that would be the equivalent of £128k a week (as there would be no resale value). If it was £8m and £70k a week, the package would still cost £121k a week for 3 years, or £108k a week over 4 years.

I wasn't being serious old bean.

We're at the "told friends he wants to go" stage of things. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/538536/Jose-Fonte-Man-United-Arsenal-Premier-League-Southampton-transfers-rumours-gossip This if true (NB IF) always strikes me as a pussy's way of doing it. If you want to go, put in a damn transfer request.

As an aside, what really annoys me about Friday night matches is that the Championship seemed to have found itself a unique slot. But oh no, the ****ing PL needs to be on every single ****ing day. Maybe I am getting weary of PL saturation interspersed with CL, but with Friday, the PL takes away from Championship yet again.

I'm with you on this. If he wanted to move on, then he shouldn't have signed a new contract keeping him here until 2018. You can't have it all ways, and sometimes you just have to live by the decisions you make. The club being left in the lurch seems to be ignored by many who say he has earned a move. The club has earned some respect and shouldn't be left in the lurch like this.
-
Presumably he was deemed surplus to requirement at Palace and they were happy to let him go. True. To break a contract, both parties have to agree.
-
Remember Puncheon's behaviour? He rehabilitated himself ok, so it can happen. Then again you have Osvaldo who when given fresh starts, just couldn't change.

or this.

Puel resigned Fonte off/staying New player in Club being sold Reckon it's one of those.

It could be quashed quite easily by the man himself. But all we have had was the 7 years of Passion, hard work, dedication and putting the team first,we was able to achieve success after success!!! Thank you for being there all the way #wemarchon together!! Now to me, coupled with the speculation curently going on, I can well understand why people are of the opinion that it seems that he thinks he has run his distance with Saints. Personally, I'll just wait to see what happens.

Problem with Special K's theory is that the two Joses share the same agent.

It's proper cameras like any televised match game, as it is sold around the world. PL logo on the games. Who does the televising of it I have no idea. I imagine that there is a company specialising in it, and Sky, BT, ITV, BBC etc etc etc all use them. Maybe someone knows!
-
PL streams that it gives to other broadcasters, hence how you can watch any PL game at 3pm on a Saturday

I still remember all the **** people gave Mané when he started due to the fairly average performances he gave. Why not give Redmond a bit of time? For one thing, and I am not saying that they are the same quality, Redmond's first match was a lot lot better than Mané's for us. I do think that because Mané was from over seas and unknown by most he could get away with it. Redmond though, Norwich, people think he struggled to get in their team, therefore must be crap.
-
So we offer £70k which means presumably that other clubs have to top that by a fair bit + the transfer fee, so as a package with no resale value, it is going to be pricey. But then again, there is plenty of money seemingly to burn.
-
Would that then make us Level 2 or Level 3 or would we stay on Level 4?
-
I wonder how much of this is the constant hype of PL and people being bombarded with ManU/C, Liverpool, Chelsea etc spending big and getting big expensive squads and wanting that, while not realising that we should actually be looking more at the likes of WBA, Stoke etc.
-
Yup, I reckon it's cos I am an idiot. As for the Man U bid, have you factored in that it was January? How many players have we sold in the January transfer window?
-
Any chance you could transfer yourself to Palace?
