Pelle - in the last few minutes, chased the ball all the way back to our goal line (and conceded a corner). Maybe one might say he should have been up at the other end, but for me, top effort. Not sure I would wholly agree with that. Certainly a completely new level from last season, but last season was also a completely new level.

But was it a bad tackle? The injury sounds awful but it seems to have been a robust but fair tackle. Sometimes it is easy to forget now that things are more sanitised, that football is a contact sport and thankfully these type of injuries aren't too common.

I feel sorry for the kid. He seemed to have put last season behind him and now this. 9 minutes stoppage isn't a good sign.

I do wonder how much of Romeu's dropping in favour of Vic, was trying to assimilate him back into the squad after his head going missing for a while? OR/JWP vs Norwich worked well, admittedly against 10 men, as JWP's being a little deeper helped and his passing and distribution seemed better than in past games. I also expect after the CL game that Man U have, for the press to start bringing out the rivalry stories between LvG and RK. Nothing like bigging this up to try and sell the televised game.

Some might have reasons that you don't understand. I remember in 1998 (??) coming away after a 1-1 draw and the person I was with being kicked (or attempted to) in the head for no reason. Ever since then I have disliked them - of course dislike is in the rather banal tribalistic sense.

How have we played? I fell asleep after about 10 mins, the Mrs woke me at half time-ish and I fell asleep again to wake up a few minutes before the penalty, catching bit here and there in between.
