In Spain they don't, and the Beckham Law is about non-doms paying the 24.75% instead of, I think, 43%. UK it is harder to fiddle, and I know the old favourite was image rights being based off shore, but I think that that was closed down.

Ah, the important things in a footballer's life.
-
Also, it has been stated that we have first refusal to discuss things. As we have taken this up (or seemingly so), anything Levy does is somewhat jumping the gun. But hey ho, this is the transfer window where you never know what/who to believe, so I just wait and see who trots out in a few weeks time.
-
talkSport just said he got a £6m pay off. I can't believe that as that is prob paying his contract up in full for the remaining 2 years. If that was the case, then we might as well keep his registration and let him click his heels in hope that we could recoup something somewhere down the line. Where do all these people get their figures and if anyone is ITK, maybe now is the time to actually say what's what.

He's on €5m a year at AM. And with their tax laws (the "Beckham" Law) I believe but might be wrong that that equates to a rate of 24.75%. Back of the fag packet maths, converting into Sterling and accounting for a higher tax rate, to earn the same amount, he would need to be paid about £85-90k a week. Spurs can do that. Can we?
-
Maybe, maybe not. But unless you know, it is a little strange to criticise the board. If I was AM, I know that I have a player that more than one club wants. The player's wishes might or might not be relevant (I suspect so long as he is well paid and can get a regular starting spot, then he might be flexible). More relevant is to try and get the greatest transfer fee and not just the first one.

So this once Liverpool target, signs for Inter from Bayern (after being there 6 months on loan) to then 1 year later to be leaving and possibly heading for Stoke. Does that not say something??
-
How do you know that they haven't?
-
Let's face it.... Lallana says Liverpool is great and that Clyne should join = people getting over excited (and let's face it, Clyne knows exactly what Liverpool is like and also what £90k per week will look like in his bank account) Fonte says Saints are great and Cedric should join = people not getting over excited.

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/451281/Liverpool-Adam-Lallana-persuaded-Nathaniel-Clyne-switch-Southampton "He said the team is good and a good bunch of lads. He told me I'd be made to feel welcome if I joined. "Knowing a few of the players at the club is good. I can join in with the lads and I reckon I'll settle down easily." A little strange that he can't make his own mind up about where he works, yet has to have reassurances from Lallana. Maybe it was reported wrong but he comes across as being somewhat naive.

Can I ask how you know? You are probably right, but you seem to talk with such certainty that I wonder whether you have been down to Staplewood or know someone there.
-
Really - and tell me, how is Gardos progressing?
-
Sure but say £13m fee and £60k a week for 4 years = £25m and a bit. Easy to come up with that figure. As you say, loan fees, deferred wages to the club having him, agreement for early termination etc etc all go to lower the £25m figure. But it is somewhat semantics as it was an expensive mistake whatever the real figure.
-
Seems a pretty good note. No hollow platitudes giving a reason for the move, which is welcomed, as can't stand the way some try and justify it.

As badger boars are sexually active from as early as 12 months, I am not sure that I would call an 18 month old one a cub. Right - best go get my coat.

The one positive I see from this is that it showed that Saints, newly promoted, were happy to be serious in the transfer market. Yes, it didn't work and was a waste of money, but him and Gaston showed that we were prepared to sign players of a certain calibre. Now we have added Koeman to the mix, that also helps.
-
And it also says that Koeman is **** and not a patch on Rodgers.
-
I wouldn't get too worried about the £25m figure - I doubt Peach knows regardless of what he has been led to believe. Anyway, we can remember the Man City goal and draw a line under this sorry affair.
-
Surely worth £25m
-
Possibly in for Benteke now. Strewth, they seem to be going for it. How much is that now, that Brenda has spent - nearly £300m with Benteke? And for what? 2 more points than us.
-
Get a season ticket and then you won't have to worry. Or are you worried you might have to pay more for games that you and everyone else want to go to (hence why they are Cat A)?
-
Committee signing? Pearson says **** you, committee says **** you back and BTW if that's your attitude (and actually understandable) you're fired? Pure conjecture of course.
-
???????? Have I drunk a lot, or have you?
-
Really? I thought that someone on here had said he failed his medical and took it as gospel. Mortgaged the house and put all £27.36 on him staying at Saints.
-
That wouldn't have helped, but really, he should have been sacked for his antics during the season.
